Get a petrol or electric car if your driving is restricted to short journeys in town. What's the point of owning a diesel car if you are not hauling anything or doing huge miles every day?
So you don't get the mileage with a DPF system. You are wasting more diesel to clean the DPF. May be this is the reason why Maruti Suzuki discontinued Diesel engine cars when BS6 was introduced in India.
the manual dpf regeneration whith the button works only when you have the alert ? or i can use it at any time? i have a 2019 hi lux and with no warning light if i push the botton nothing hapens
I was driving my hilux for short distances and my dpf is almost full (just one click away) and now it started to struggle when shifting gears and engine icon showed up but it was not fully clogged. My service is 60 miles away from me so what do you suggest to me. Should I try to manual regeneration or call them to me? (calling them to here on my place is not that easy)

Hello. I have a 2009 Toyota Yaris 1ndtv D4D engine with DPF that gives me many problems, regenerations every day and an increase in the oil level mixed with diesel. The car works perfectly, the engine responds well and does not cause black smoke. I also cleaned the egr valve, but the Problem continues with the DPF, what could it be? thank you
I have the same problem with oil rising on my 2013 Yaris. One mechanic told me to check the injectors because my dpf is in a good condition. This may be my next appointment. Did you find any solution to your Yaris?

Hi John, thanks for your comment. You can find the details on how to perform DPF regeneration on your Auris in your owner's manual. This can be accessed online here: www.toyota.co.uk/customer/manuals. Thanks.
@@toyotauk I have Hilux 2019, DPF notice comes and i tried manual and failed and sent it to Toyota rwanda and they failed also to regenerate it. What can I do? what if the DPF is disabled is there any consequences on the car?
This is all well and good, but how do you do this on a hilux DX 2017 that doesn't have a button to start the process? I'm almost certain the channel itself won't answer, but if anyone sees this comment, could you let me know? Thank you
@@clappagemcphee No problem. Periodic driving at around 2000 rpm, say for a couple of miles, should do the trick. Or you could just try what works best for you. Though 3k rpm is for manual regeneration while the engine is idling, you can start with 3k rpm once and after you've driven some distance, repeat the process at 2k rpm every few hundred miles to keep the dpf from soot build up. Driving at over 3k will greatly increase fuel consumption.
It amazes me that the filter is supposed to catch all those nasty wildlife environment killing bits in the exhaust fumes. Then with the push of a button or rev of the engine and also adding of harmful chemicals we can clean it again. How does this make sense. Just get rid of them in the first place.
We're sorry to hear that. Please get in touch with your local Toyota Centre to book an inspection. We're sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience caused. Thank you.
@@toyotauk Thanks for your reply. The truck is already on service, they cleaned DPF and reset the check engine alarm, but this is very stange! During 8 years I never new about DPF on VW and only evidence of its cleaning were higher engine RPMs. Toyota far behind VW, its DPF system cleans filter each 100-200km!!! And one day when -3C outside and you are warming up your truck with frosen windscreen(it's another story...) and engine is not warm yet, it is not able to clean DPF and shows "Filter is full" alarm. Manual clean button, which was added on latest model doesn't work, because endine still not warm enough and you are getting "Check engine", DPF is clogged and your truck need to be towed on service! It is not allowed to drive for long in such mode, not more than 100km and transmission doesn't shift on higher gears, just up to third! Wow! I hate Toyota!
DPF regeneration is like a sedentary smoker going for a run haha.
Outside of cities is the idea, at higher speed and rpm

You can just drive in considerably high engine rpm in a lower gear for a while for all the soot in the dpf to burn through regeneration
