Install the silicone pad from Quest-2 on Quest 3, and I got a black screen, as soon as I removed this silicone pad around the face, the black screen stopped appearing.

I had the same issue and I think I found the reason... it's the infrared distance sensor being too far away from your forehead cause it to enter sleep mode and display a black screen, and that's due to the increased distance because of the installed add-on... You can poke a finger right in front of the sensor and the screen will turn right back on

Mine doesnt turn off but just turns into a black screen but can hear the game in the background, and then i shake my head or move my brows nd it comes back and my guradian shows
Had the same problem before, I realized the silicon facial interface I bought was partially blocking the sensor that determines if the headset is being worn or not. I removed it and everything went back to normal.
Ugh! I was just watching videos from the quest tv app and when I clicked on one my screen went dark and there’s nothing I can do. I tried holding the power button to power it off. It had enough charge so that’s not the issue. I can tell it’s powered on because of the light on the outside. I guess I’ll just have to let it die and when I power it back on hopefully it works again.

i just got my meta quest 3 TODAY and it seemed like it was at 50%, i didnt know how check the percent but now i know why it was like that.
I just received my quest 3 and it wouldn't connect to wifi. It was on passthrough mode when i turned it on I dont know if thats normal but there was no option screen or anything. I turned it off and tried turning it back on and now its venting air out of the top loudly and wont turn on.

If its just a grey screen with nothing else and its in hold the power until it turns off then turn it back on in like 10 - 20 seconds or it will turn back on by itself like mine did (prob beacause i touched the controllers)

I just found the problem. it is the light sensor in between the lenses. I use glasses so I had to adjust silicone pad on my Meta Quest 3. I just ordered prescription glasses to avoid badfunctioning of my meta quest 3. Its so weird a big company like META makes this kind of design mistakes.

It turns off if you plug it in sometimes. But honestly contact Meta's live support chat. I sent my quest 3 back today and they are replacing the whole thing for free shipping label and all. I have dealt with this issue since launch.

*Mine does this whilst its charging & even when I take the cable out the charging light still shows, plus the white light on the front of the headset. I have to wait until the battery runs out, takes up to 6 hours as there is no screen. Its frustrating as hell.*
