If you want to start as soon as you can, skip college and start learning on your own. Then find a department you want to join, and write a few of them down. Find their education requirements and other things they require before joining. Once graduated from high school and having all the requirements needed of the department, go in person to talk to the department you want to apply at. They’ll give you an in depth interview and if they want you, they will give you a few weeks of medical screening and further interviews. Once they can see you’re medically cleared and can begin the academy, they’ll put you in the academy. At most it takes 6 months to finish, and then you’ll be put with the department. I’m assuming you’re in high school, so for now all you need to do is learn some simple things about the job. How to use a firearm, how to fight, timed/difficult driving, how to speak and use proper terminology over radio, etc. you can also enroll in programs at your local departments that help to educate and prepare high school aged students for a law enforcement career. Hope this helps

@@SeanFDNY it would normally result in damage to the limb, rarely death as the rest of the body is getting blood. Loss of blood from and injury needing a TQ will mostly result in death. When applying a TQ you need it as tight as you can get it. And they can only be used on limbs. People can survive without limbs, but not the blood loss from a limb. Is there a link or a protocol that restricts the use of a TQ unless your trained? It’s basic first aid to apply a TQ. And I have found nothing from anywhere that says only EMTs or Paramedics are allowed to apply one.
