I was reading an article from before this game came out and they were talking about how this new detective Fulbright is "a man of many emotions" and how you'll see him "expressing his feelings in a very exaggerated manner". Ohoho those clever bastards.
This games don't caught me off guard very often. But when Phoenix started thinking "who could be the only person capable at that time", and HE appeared... well I fucking screamed a loud "no.
The way the reveal is handled is so goddamn great. Phoenix and Edgeworth together have finally realized the truth: that the killer from seven years ago has struck again, and that whoever had the ladder lowered is a double murderer and international spy. Then suddenly we flash back to that one seemingly insignificant line from Case 4: "So I lowered the emergency ladder like the detective in charge told me to." And in that moment, it clicks for both Phoenix and the player. The courtroom is dead silent; even the text boxes have ceased to beep. Phoenix declares that there is only one possible culprit... Cue a picture of the smiling face of Bobby Fulbright.
@@davidlarocque5848 This IMO is one of the most terrifying case ever with the most mess-up villain, like it's basically a horror mystery at this point. Yeah sure the game itself is not as good as Miles Edgeworth series but... after discovering how cruel this guy was for this particular case alone.
The fact that it took a while for them to identify Fulbright's body makes me sad. Kinda implies that for such a lovable character, it's like nobody missed the real him. And, if the phantom likes to make his disguises as authentic as possible, it means that the real fulbright was every inch as enthusiastic and goofy as the phantom made the detective out to be. Idk man I'm just deep in my feelings for this stupid himbo whom i miss a lot

i HATED bobby at first, but then after a while, his antics and mannerisms just wormed their way into my heart and he became my favorite character. and then the ending happened.

SPOILER: Although some people hate Mr Fulbright - *looks at Simon Blackquill* - and others love him for being so random and hammy, when you realise he's a fake, it's all the more sad, that there really was a detective and police officer as dedicated and as enthusiastic about justice as he was before the phantom killed him. He's as calm and collected as a jelly dancing the polka but he's so genuine and well-meaning you can't help but like him.
Phantom didn't kill fulbright, he died in an accident and his corpse was disfigured beyond recognition. Phantom just took advantage of fulbright's identity and occupation as a detective.

When he poked his head out of the window and called back to Athena, I fell in love. That DLC case is a very good on-the-verge case for him, especially after you know what's happening at the end.
I didn't expect Bobby Fulbright to become my new favorite detective in AA when I first saw him. After watching his antics and hearing his theme for the first time, he somehow won my heart. The ending just made it better. IN JUSTICE WE TRUST!
Spoilers I can't decide what to feel for this character. I know I feel pretty sad for the real Bobby, and I feel like I know the character, even if we never actually met him... But it feels weird, since we never even see him, just an impression of him.

SPOILERS! You know, I don't think there's conclusive evidence that the Phantom killed Bobby. He assumed his identity, yes, but all we know is that Bobby died a few years ago. There is nothing in the game to suggest that the Phantom was the one who killed him (though it's not a crazy assumption to make). Please correct me if I missed something though.

He might have been a detective before he died, and so Phantom just picked him specifically for his position and maybe personality. He needed to get access to Blackquill so he could steal back the evidence on his identity, and seriously, who would suspect a guy like Fulbright T___T Though this IS speculation, so I'm not sure if you (we) missed anything either @__@ do you think he went searching around for recently deceased people before they could be discovered to be deceased, then disposed the body? ^^' ...though, if he did dispose the body, he did a dumb job of it, since it was FOUND XD so it might be possible that he never went near Realbright's body or that he's not that competent... then again, he got stabbed in the hand by a little girl @__@ now I am really confused DX
AstorGrant LE SPOILERS It can go either way. The Phantom could have killed him and then assumed his identity, or the Phantom could have discovered that Bobby was a high-ranking detective after his death from whatever causes, assumed his position, looks, and personality, and falsified all records to his death. I imagine it would be easier if Bobby was a detective at some other precinct (like one a few states away or something) so no one would really know that he was supposed to be dead. He could get some fake documents, say "hey, I'm transferring here, here's the paperwork" and no one would really bother to look into his past. Is it ever stated that they found Bobby's body? Edgeworth says that some of his records indicated that Bobby was dead, but not that it was hidden or anything.
Once I beat the game, I realized that this whole time, Bobby's catchphrase could be misconstrued the entire time. The text says "In justice we trust", but when said aloud, you could rewrite it to "Injustice we trust" which makes so much sense given the overall theme of the game.

I did not see that one coming. Not by a long-shot. They were implying it and I was like, "No way, no way in hell is that what happened." Then it happened and I was like," Oh my God that actually happened, now I'M the one all flipped turned upside down."
@@questionmarkquestionmarkques Fulbright acts sus the whole trial and never explains why he was even on the scene of the bombing. Not to mention you can process of elimination it down to him pretty easily into the last trial.
When I had to present who was the Phantom I knew it was a detective... at first I was like "No way it's Fullbright" so I tried presenting the detective that was killed in the first case instead and I got a penalty, that's where my sadness began as I knew the only one left was Fullbright but I didn't want to believe it, he was such a nice guy and one of the best characters in the entire series, I feel empty now
yeah i presented Detective Arme too. admittedly i kept refusing to believe it was fulbright, so when blackquill faked trusting him again, i got my hopes up that it was a misunderstanding or framing or something
This theme used to make me so happy then after I realized the real joyful and justice driven fulbright was long dead and mutalaited beyond recgonition long before we met his imposter, the song just gets me depressed I mean really poor guy, no one even realized what had happened untill a year later what a terrible fate for what seemed such a nice guy I have no idea why I get so depressed when I think about that still love the song though somehow

Seeing as the phantom sought to mimic his victims almost exactly, cases two and three were most likely fairly accurate representation of the true Fulbright.
Wow, imagine, that would be heartbreaking, especially if say, someone were to play that game and it doesn't show what happens to him after it ends, and they go on to play Dual Destinies... Okay, this might be a bad idea.

Turnabout Vanish, where a person is found dead and unrecognizable because the body was heavily bruised, his clothes were removed and his hair was completely shaved, leaving its identity unknown. Fulbright would appear in the previous cases of the game as Gumshoe's "rival" but would be missing in this one for the past section. It would play in two different sections: the flashback and the present, similar to The Inherited Turnabout from AAI2. The case would feature a witness who saw the moment in which a person was seen killing another one (which would be the real Fulbright and the Phantom), and taking its clothes off. Later on, Edgeworth finds a strange device similar to a fotocopier on the trash, and upon examining it, it reveals data of someone having used it to copy the victim's face (Fulbright mask), but that wasn't enough to identify neither of them. The present section of the case takes place at the same time as Turnabout for Tomorrow, while Phoenix, Apollo, Athena and Simon are interrogating the fake Fulbright, the Phantom. Here, the same witness who saw the murder of the real Fulbright found new evidence: A torn Fulbright mask. They would end up discovering that the victim a year ago was the detective and that the one they were seeing is an impersonator. When they try to catch up on him, the Phantom is already in court, so Edgeworth tells Phoenix what they found out just when the grand finale of the trial seemed hopeless. This makes the Phantom do the same breakdown animation, ending the case. I would like it so that the entire game focuses on a major plot that connects all of the cases, like the smuggling ring in AAI1 or the mastermind in AAI2. In this case, it would be about finding out who is behind mysterious deaths that have no explaination.

It's kind of annoying that the mere existence of spoilers it's an spoiler itself. Like, if you say that there's spoilers regarding a character, you know that character has some kind of relevance to the plot, thus you'll be expecting something comingo from it, killing the surprise factor. Annoying but innevitable.
This characters fate is even sadder once you realize the phantom was imitating him perfectly. The real Bobby Fulbright really this happy go lucky and kind to others. And no one ever noticed it wasn’t him. That’s flipping sad.

SPOILER: When I first saw Fulbright, I didn't really know what to think of him. I started to like him after a while. When I saw him return in the third case I was pretty happy. At a certain moment, someone asked him to lower something. I didn't know he was inside of there and when I suddenly saw his face outside of the window, a smile appeared on my face. He became my favorite character in the game. But then the last case happened. HOLY CRAP! I never expected this of him. This guy turned out to be the phantom, and not only that! Bobby Fulbright was actually dead and this guy was just an imposter. I was really shocked by this and couldn't believe that Fulbright was the phantom at first. My favorite character in the game turned out to be a bad guy. I still can't believe it. Good job, game.
This is EXACTLY what happened to me! I started to love his character... and then BOOM (pun intended) the last case happened... I was so shocked! Kinda disappointed that we couldn't see the face of the phantom... Also I wonder if the real Bobby Fulbright was like the way phantom acted... probably...

I was looking for pictures of Bobby in order to make a meme to express how much I love this guy, at the moment I'm at the first day of investigation of the final case from DD I was happy to see ma boi's shiny smile in his wiki file, then scrolled down a bit... For some reason during the second case I mixed up the opening cutscene murderer to be Fool Bright and not the perfume dude!! So I was all like "Dude they're making the detective the bad guy?? Woah!" Until I saw Le Belle. And because of that mistake I got a false sense of security that there was no way he could be the baddie EVER! I did not suspect him once until they explicitly said "a detective made people go up the ladder..." O~O We trusted you! And you played us... like a foooooool~

It would've been interesting if Cases 2, 3 and 6 had "Fulbright" and only Cases 1, 4 and 5 had "Fool Bright". That way, the blur between genuine and fake would've made the resolution a bit more tragic in the end.
+CelestiaLily I honestly thought that was what happened at first due to running into some spoilers. So when Phoenix and Athena were discussing how different Fulbright was behaving in case 4, I assumed that was when he had been replaced by the Phantom. It also would have made more sense for his body to be identified at that very convenient moment if it were a mere few days after his death as opposed to a whole year. It was a missed opportunity. That could have been really interesting.
It went exactly the same for me. I ran into spoilers about his final breakdown, so when I got to case 4 I assumed he was an imposter from that moment onwards. But I actually preferred how he was the Phantom all along since case 2. The real one being replaced by an imposter at the same moment Athena noticed something different would've been too predictable. Having us players realize we were fooled all along, without ever having met an actual affable/dorky Fulbright, but just an emotionless imposter since the beginning, was much more interesting in my opinion.
It would have been better if the very first time you met him in the fox chamber it was the real guy but after he left while Athena and apollo were investigating he was replaced so the first interaction with fakebright would be him telling Apollo about Simon I doubt athena would have noticed a difference and you still would have been able to meet the real guy at least once
I agree, it would have been a good lampshade, first the player would realize that he was acting weird, buy maybe brush it off as Cases 1,4 and 5 were more serious than Cases 2 and 3 that were more lighthearted/comedic.
Spoilers for case 5: If the Phantom can perfectly pose as anyone he disguises as, that means for a moment, the real Bobby Fulbright was truly there for all those cases. His true personality we've known Fulbright for. But he's been dead. Dead for an entire year. The real Fulbright that the Phantom perfectly mimicked, the one we grew to love, was left rotting somewhere for an entire year.
Dammit game....you just had to make me get the feels for this guy.... This one was the ONE plot twist that I didn't see coming....I really hate you for that one capcom.
Honestly, Fulbright was someone I suspected before there was even anything worth suspecting about him. The mere fact that they brought in a new Gumshoe and that they had never done a villain detective before made me incredibly incredulous of him. All of that is to say that over the course of the game, I genuinely fell for him. He wasn't my favourite AA character, or even my favourite new character from Dual Destinies, but he had this charm to him that eventually rubbed off on me. Especially with things like him popping his head through the window at the academy and accompanying Wright during the hostage situation. It's almost a similar effect to the killer from Persona 4 for me, where seeing such a previously goofy character get so horrifically warped was heartbreaking. But unlike P4's killer, Fulbright will never get a chance to fully embrace himself. The real Bobby was dead for a year by that point and I can't imagine the phantom ever found any kind of solace if he did survive to his own trial. Dual Destinies is probably one of the more subtly dark games in the franchise, between the gore, the recurring themes of terrorism and corruption, and the entirety of the HAT-1 Incident. Before playing it, I never really got why it ended up with a higher age rating than any other game in the series, but after actually playing it, I can understand now.
SPOILERS AHEAD! The real sad part is that there was once a Bobby Fulbright just like how the Phantom impersonated him. Someone with such a devotion to justice and this much of a good man. Just knowing the revelation behind who Fulbright is just broke my heart completely. Gumshoe will always be my favorite detective, but Fulbright, the real one that is, is a very close second.
In courtroom Simon : *gives cue to come in to present investigation detail* Bobby : "in justice we trust!" then *sad face* Simon : .........Fool Bright....... Hahaha that moment made me like them both
The picture in this video really does well in showcasing the role full-bright played in the game. He’s in the far back and not drawing too much attention to himself and you’re too focused on the other characters to realize what he’s up to.
I was _so_ pulling for Bobby to be falsely accused and redeemed by the phantom-made-me-do-it shtick. Though, when an affable, goofy _Ace Attorney_ character suddenly becomes serious and starts belittling the defense, you know it's over. It took the wind out of the game's sail for me.
Oh look another spoiler I teared up at the end when "Bobby" wasn't the real Bobby I loved throughout the game and I still feel hurt when they proclaimed he was dead a year ago. If that's how he acted with his quirky, lovable personality beforehand then I really enjoyed him and I will still love him (the real fulbright) even though he's long gone now. But in the end, i'm quite glad the real fulbright never did any of what had happened in case 4 (because i knew that persona never even suit him in the first place :/)
Whenever I'm studying or something and this pops up, I have to stop and change the track. I cannot concentrate, it's the authentic sound of betrayal lol
(spoiler) I LOVED his character so much and I’m so ANGRY that he was the spy but it makes the most SENSE for the overly emotional guy to be the one who actually felt none whatsoever but COME ON IN JUSTICE WE TRUST!!! :( How his life ended was so sad too…
He felt “ALMOST” no emotion. No person can completely suppress all their emotions no matter how hard they train. Which is why he still felt fear of being caught. But it’s still impressive that for all the over the top emotions he did none of them were genuine.
+The Ironic Monster Yeah, that would have been way more satisfying! Maybe he could have been replaced during the middle of a case, and there are amazingly subtle clues that something is wrong, but you probably wouldn't notice because Fulbright acts so strangely anyway and you probably have plenty to think about regarding the case. Regardless, having us actually meeting Fulbright makes the whole twist more emotionally fucked up.
+The Ironic Monster I actually heard about Fulbright dying before I played Dual Destinies, but I assumed he died at some point during the game rather than before it. So when Phoenix and Athena talk about how "suspiciously helpful" Fulbright was during 5-4 and how different he seemed to be acting, I took that as him having just been killed and replaced by the Phantom. Also, it would have made more sense for the police to have just found and identified the real Fulbright's body if he had been killed recently than for them to conveniently identify him one year after, VERY conveniently right when the Phantom happens to be in court. Honestly, us seeing the real Fulbright before he got murdered would have been so much better, it was serious missed potential.
But then it would make the ending just "meh", knowing Fulbright died, its better now, you start loving Foolbright through the game, so the ending hurts more
Spoilers: Recently finished the game, Throughout the game I really liked Fulbright and all I was saying to him was "Damn, he's on par with Gumshoe in my most favorite detectives in the game." Then Case 5 appeared and oh I was so surprised with the twist. But it still didn't change the fact that I like Fulbright as a detective since the phantom could easily copy someone's way of talking and moving, meaning that the Fulbright we all know and love is the same Fulbright that died 1 year ago and that Fulbright is still my favorite detective along with Gumshoe.

Fulbright js a cheery detective who believes in Justice. We can see that the actual fulbright was actually the exact same the phantom was portraying. So in reality, he is full if emotions
This theme is easily my favorite in the entire ost, and Fulbright was one of my favorite characters! I didnt really like him or his theme at first, but he grew on me. So the ending caused me pain :'D

The fact that it took a while for them to identify Fulbright's body makes me sad. Kinda implies that for such a lovable character, it's like nobody missed the real him. And, if the phantom likes to make his disguises as authentic as possible, it means that the real fulbright was every inch as enthusiastic and goofy as the phantom made the detective out to be. Idk man I'm just deep in my feelings for this stupid himbo whom i miss a lot

Although some people hate Mr Fulbright - *looks at Simon Blackquill* - and others love him for being so random and hammy, when you realise he's a fake, it's all the more sad, that there really was a detective and police officer as dedicated and as enthusiastic about justice as he was before the phantom killed him. He's as calm and collected as a jelly dancing the polka but he's so genuine and well-meaning you can't help but like him.
Phantom didn't kill fulbright, he died in an accident and his corpse was disfigured beyond recognition. Phantom just took advantage of fulbright's identity and occupation as a detective.

I didn't expect Bobby Fulbright to become my new favorite detective in AA when I first saw him.
After watching his antics and hearing his theme for the first time, he somehow won my heart. The ending just made it better.

You know, I don't think there's conclusive evidence that the Phantom killed Bobby. He assumed his identity, yes, but all we know is that Bobby died a few years ago. There is nothing in the game to suggest that the Phantom was the one who killed him (though it's not a crazy assumption to make). Please correct me if I missed something though.

He needed to get access to Blackquill so he could steal back the evidence on his identity, and seriously, who would suspect a guy like Fulbright T___T

It can go either way. The Phantom could have killed him and then assumed his identity, or the Phantom could have discovered that Bobby was a high-ranking detective after his death from whatever causes, assumed his position, looks, and personality, and falsified all records to his death. I imagine it would be easier if Bobby was a detective at some other precinct (like one a few states away or something) so no one would really know that he was supposed to be dead. He could get some fake documents, say "hey, I'm transferring here, here's the paperwork" and no one would really bother to look into his past.
Is it ever stated that they found Bobby's body? Edgeworth says that some of his records indicated that Bobby was dead, but not that it was hidden or anything.
Once I beat the game, I realized that this whole time, Bobby's catchphrase could be misconstrued the entire time. The text says "In justice we trust", but when said aloud, you could rewrite it to "Injustice we trust" which makes so much sense given the overall theme of the game.

When I had to present who was the Phantom I knew it was a detective... at first I was like "No way it's Fullbright" so I tried presenting the detective that was killed in the first case instead and I got a penalty, that's where my sadness began as I knew the only one left was Fullbright but I didn't want to believe it, he was such a nice guy and one of the best characters in the entire series, I feel empty now
yeah i presented Detective Arme too. admittedly i kept refusing to believe it was fulbright, so when blackquill faked trusting him again, i got my hopes up that it was a misunderstanding or framing or something

Seeing as the phantom sought to mimic his victims almost exactly, cases two and three were most likely fairly accurate representation of the true Fulbright.
Not only was the Phantom a perfect replacement... nobody cared enough to miss him, even if the Phantom DID disappear.

Turnabout Vanish, where a person is found dead and unrecognizable because the body was heavily bruised, his clothes were removed and his hair was completely shaved, leaving its identity unknown. Fulbright would appear in the previous cases of the game as Gumshoe's "rival" but would be missing in this one for the past section. It would play in two different sections: the flashback and the present, similar to The Inherited Turnabout from AAI2. The case would feature a witness who saw the moment in which a person was seen killing another one (which would be the real Fulbright and the Phantom), and taking its clothes off. Later on, Edgeworth finds a strange device similar to a fotocopier on the trash, and upon examining it, it reveals data of someone having used it to copy the victim's face (Fulbright mask), but that wasn't enough to identify neither of them. The present section of the case takes place at the same time as Turnabout for Tomorrow, while Phoenix, Apollo, Athena and Simon are interrogating the fake Fulbright, the Phantom. Here, the same witness who saw the murder of the real Fulbright found new evidence: A torn Fulbright mask. They would end up discovering that the victim a year ago was the detective and that the one they were seeing is an impersonator. When they try to catch up on him, the Phantom is already in court, so Edgeworth tells Phoenix what they found out just when the grand finale of the trial seemed hopeless. This makes the Phantom do the same breakdown animation, ending the case.
I would like it so that the entire game focuses on a major plot that connects all of the cases, like the smuggling ring in AAI1 or the mastermind in AAI2. In this case, it would be about finding out who is behind mysterious deaths that have no explaination.

Like, if you say that there's spoilers regarding a character, you know that character has some kind of relevance to the plot, thus you'll be expecting something comingo from it, killing the surprise factor. When I first saw Fulbright, I didn't really know what to think of him. I started to like him after a while. When I saw him return in the third case I was pretty happy. At a certain moment, someone asked him to lower something. I didn't know he was inside of there and when I suddenly saw his face outside of the window, a smile appeared on my face. He became my favorite character in the game. But then the last case happened.
HOLY CRAP! I never expected this of him. This guy turned out to be the phantom, and not only that! Bobby Fulbright was actually dead and this guy was just an imposter. I was really shocked by this and couldn't believe that Fulbright was the phantom at first. My favorite character in the game turned out to be a bad guy. I still can't believe it. Good job, game.

For some reason during the second case I mixed up the opening cutscene murderer to be Fool Bright and not the perfume dude!! So I was all like "Dude they're making the detective the bad guy?? Woah!" Until I saw Le Belle. And because of that mistake I got a false sense of security that there was no way he could be the baddie EVER! I did not suspect him once until they explicitly said "a detective made people go up the ladder..." O~O We trusted you! And you played us... like a foooooool~

As soon has he bought that lighter to court I had a horrible gut feeling, damn you ace attorney for making such a lovable character and then doing this
It would've been interesting if Cases 2, 3 and 6 had "Fulbright" and only Cases 1, 4 and 5 had "Fool Bright".
That way, the blur between genuine and fake would've made the resolution a bit more tragic in the end.
+CelestiaLily I honestly thought that was what happened at first due to running into some spoilers. So when Phoenix and Athena were discussing how different Fulbright was behaving in case 4, I assumed that was when he had been replaced by the Phantom. It also would have made more sense for his body to be identified at that very convenient moment if it were a mere few days after his death as opposed to a whole year.
It was a missed opportunity. That could have been really interesting.
It went exactly the same for me. I ran into spoilers about his final breakdown, so when I got to case 4 I assumed he was an imposter from that moment onwards. But I actually preferred how he was the Phantom all along since case 2.
The real one being replaced by an imposter at the same moment Athena noticed something different would've been too predictable. Having us players realize we were fooled all along, without ever having met an actual affable/dorky Fulbright, but just an emotionless imposter since the beginning, was much more interesting in my opinion.
It would have been better if the very first time you met him in the fox chamber it was the real guy but after he left while Athena and apollo were investigating he was replaced so the first interaction with fakebright would be him telling Apollo about Simon
I doubt athena would have noticed a difference and you still would have been able to meet the real guy at least once

If the Phantom can perfectly pose as anyone he disguises as, that means for a moment, the real Bobby Fulbright was truly there for all those cases. His true personality we've known Fulbright for. But he's been dead. Dead for an entire year. The real Fulbright that the Phantom perfectly mimicked, the one we grew to love, was left rotting somewhere for an entire year.
Dammit game....you just had to make me get the feels for this guy....

Honestly, Fulbright was someone I suspected before there was even anything worth suspecting about him. The mere fact that they brought in a new Gumshoe and that they had never done a villain detective before made me incredibly incredulous of him. All of that is to say that over the course of the game, I genuinely fell for him. He wasn't my favourite AA character, or even my favourite new character from Dual Destinies, but he had this charm to him that eventually rubbed off on me. Especially with things like him popping his head through the window at the academy and accompanying Wright during the hostage situation. It's almost a similar effect to the killer from Persona 4 for me, where seeing such a previously goofy character get so horrifically warped was heartbreaking.
But unlike P4's killer, Fulbright will never get a chance to fully embrace himself. The real Bobby was dead for a year by that point and I can't imagine the phantom ever found any kind of solace if he did survive to his own trial. Dual Destinies is probably one of the more subtly dark games in the franchise, between the gore, the recurring themes of terrorism and corruption, and the entirety of the HAT-1 Incident. Before playing it, I never really got why it ended up with a higher age rating than any other game in the series, but after actually playing it, I can understand now.

The real sad part is that there was once a Bobby Fulbright just like how the Phantom impersonated him. Someone with such a devotion to justice and this much of a good man. Just knowing the revelation behind who Fulbright is just broke my heart completely. Gumshoe will always be my favorite detective, but Fulbright, the real one that is, is a very close second.

The picture in this video really does well in showcasing the role full-bright played in the game. He’s in the far back and not drawing too much attention to himself and you’re too focused on the other characters to realize what he’s up to.

I was _so_ pulling for Bobby to be falsely accused and redeemed by the phantom-made-me-do-it shtick. Though, when an affable, goofy _Ace Attorney_ character suddenly becomes serious and starts belittling the defense, you know it's over.
It took the wind out of the game's sail for me.

I teared up at the end when "Bobby" wasn't the real Bobby I loved throughout the game and I still feel hurt when they proclaimed he was dead a year ago. If that's how he acted with his quirky, lovable personality beforehand then I really enjoyed him and I will still love him (the real fulbright) even though he's long gone now. But in the end, i'm quite glad the real fulbright never did any of what had happened in case 4 (because i knew that persona never even suit him in the first place :/)

I LOVED his character so much and I’m so ANGRY that he was the spy but it makes the most SENSE for the overly emotional guy to be the one who actually felt none whatsoever but COME ON IN JUSTICE WE TRUST!!! :(
How his life ended was so sad too…
He felt “ALMOST” no emotion. No person can completely suppress all their emotions no matter how hard they train. Which is why he still felt fear of being caught. But it’s still impressive that for all the over the top emotions he did none of them were genuine.
would have been even cooler if he died after the second case. that woulda fucked me up by the the time the last case came up.
+The Ironic Monster Yeah, that would have been way more satisfying! Maybe he could have been replaced during the middle of a case, and there are amazingly subtle clues that something is wrong, but you probably wouldn't notice because Fulbright acts so strangely anyway and you probably have plenty to think about regarding the case. Regardless, having us actually meeting Fulbright makes the whole twist more emotionally fucked up.
+The Ironic Monster I actually heard about Fulbright dying before I played Dual Destinies, but I assumed he died at some point during the game rather than before it. So when Phoenix and Athena talk about how "suspiciously helpful" Fulbright was during 5-4 and how different he seemed to be acting, I took that as him having just been killed and replaced by the Phantom. Also, it would have made more sense for the police to have just found and identified the real Fulbright's body if he had been killed recently than for them to conveniently identify him one year after, VERY conveniently right when the Phantom happens to be in court.
Honestly, us seeing the real Fulbright before he got murdered would have been so much better, it was serious missed potential.

Recently finished the game, Throughout the game I really liked Fulbright and all I was saying to him was "Damn, he's on par with Gumshoe in my most favorite detectives in the game." Then Case 5 appeared and oh I was so surprised with the twist. But it still didn't change the fact that I like Fulbright as a detective since the phantom could easily copy someone's way of talking and moving, meaning that the Fulbright we all know and love is the same Fulbright that died 1 year ago and that Fulbright is still my favorite detective along with Gumshoe.
I really like it when Fulbright lifts his glasses a little

Fulbright js a cheery detective who believes in Justice. We can see that the actual fulbright was actually the exact same the phantom was portraying. So in reality, he is full if emotions

This theme is easily my favorite in the entire ost, and Fulbright was one of my favorite characters! I didnt really like him or his theme at first, but he grew on me. So the ending caused me pain :'D
