You two! I'll say it again: You both are an inspiration to those of us who're less hearty individuals, but who have the desire to be heartier. Yeah, that's it. That's the ticket. And when the time comes, PIE is on me. 🥧☕
You guys are doing a great job at entertaining with great quality content that TH-cam suggested me to watch your videos and weeeee love it. Got yourself another subscriber. ❤ Thank you guys for all the beautiful views and tips. Hopefully we meet up one day. ❤Happy Trails Guys!!❤
Cool video!!! Actually freezing 🥶 video ! Yikes , I’ve never experienced cold weather like that 36° below!!! Did love ice fishing as a youth . Maybe 10° below a few days in Northeast! Moved to Florida in 70’s ! Thanks for the Video Rick& Linda .👍😁
Glad to see you tried putting the fan on the floor. cold air is heaver than warm air so putting the fan on the floor picks up that heavy cold air and forces it up to be warmed by your heat source and forces the warm air to come down off the ceiling. Glad you got in out of the cold arctic weather.
Not every day you hear someone had to escape to Wyoming to get warm!😂 Glad you made it for the one day a year the wind doesn't blow!😂 We LOVE Wyoming and Montana and have good friends in both states. Thanks for sharing your travels with us and be safe out there! Jim & Karen
Walking on liquid water behind a boat 70 mph, lost the ski hot dogging... felt like concrete, but it was warm. Thanks for the memory jog, and the video.
Glad you erred on the side of caution - for that overnight very cold. Really enjoyed looking at the ice! You're great at sharing beautiful places with us!
You all got colder than we did over here in the Flathead during that cold snap. I live in a mobile home and I was miserable inside for 11 days. The heater ran almost non-stop! You two are braver than i❤
That was the coldest temperatures we've ever experienced. What kind of heat are you running, Wanda? We're fortunate that our house is well insulated, especially in the ceiling.
Thirty below in Great Falls!!!! I bet the falls are solid ice. And you two escape to “warm” Wyoming. You’re tougher than I am! Nice video with lots of laughter.
:) WOW! THAT IS COLD -40 :( No wonder you went south!!! AND PIE? Good for you! I did not know propane issues at -40? ALL THE BEST and stay WARM! Cheers and THANKS MUCH for sharing! :)
Hi Rick and Linda Thank you for another great show and bringing back great childhood memories of ice skateing in northern NY state We are boondocking in Yuma now Praise God See ya down the road ✝️🏜️😊😊
How fun! Takes me back to the time growing up about 50 miles north of Spokane ice skating on the lakes. Never took a dip though. lol Thanks so much for sharing your adventures with us.
Fantastic video, and yes, no wind makes a difference. We are in the mountains of Arizona right now, and it’s in the 30’s, no wind, and it doesn’t feel bad at all. Great video!
Rick, if you find a lake with no snow on the ice it's a blast to ride bikes on. The tires stick to the ice making it a lot of fun. But don't hit snow on the ice or you will lose traction and fall down.
I feel cold just watching. At least we're only dealing with high winds rocking the truck camper and heavy rains, more of which we'll be enjoying tonight or tomorrow. Walleye is good eating fish, but then Rainbow Trout fried in salt butter garlic is good too. Take care... PS: Show Me The Pie!
Maybe we'll start a "PiePal" budget, like someone suggested. Linda and the rest of our Hawaii family doesn't like freshwater fish at all except for walleye. And they pretty much eat anything out of the ocean.
@gonagain Salmon, Trout, Steelhead, there is a family connection if that helps. If you do only like one fresh water fish, Walleye is a good choice. On the darker side of rv/Truck Camper life, we managed to run out of propane last night and to make it more interesting, the toilet I replaced last year, broke at the base last night, so off to get another one. The bright side is this camp spot is beautiful! I'll keep you posted on developments.
Pretty! Got -50 when I was a kid growing up in Fremont county Wyo. Once retired I spent 5 years rv camping fulltime in Goshen county. Coldest night there was -27 and it usually warmed up to freezing or warmer daytime. My propane always worked there. Thanks for the fan tip. My ceiling fan keeps the heat evened out too.
Had my fill of cold camping for days in a row when I used to hunt elk. Once when the day was "warm" I took a naked bath in a unfrozen stream. Instant brain freeze!
Walleye are Da Bomb!! Best fresh water fish you'll ever eat! The largest number of walleye I ever caught was on Lake Erie. Each fish weighed an average of 8 lbs and up!
Hi Rick, Hello Linda, Cool Video, Actually a Very Cold Video. I had to put on a thick hoody just to watch. About 50 years ago my buddies and I would grab a snow shovel and an old tire and a little gasoline. We'd drive out to remote reservoir, shovel snow off ice, light the tire on fire, and skate until tire burned up. We didn't smell very good afterward but were able to skate awhile until needing to warm up by fire. MT had about 10 days of record setting cold in mid-Jan, but other than that it has been unusually mild, especially in SE MT.
We're usually gone during the frigid temps that MT goes through but this year we had to hang around. That's the coldest we've ever experienced, hope to not see that again. But this is Montana, so....
Amazingly hardy people. A Blackfoot friend told us that some of the people would have winter camps where there was running water nearby and it was somewhat protected from the blistering winds. But still cold as heck.
Hello Rick! I know someone very well that you also know, she lives in GTF, she showed me pics of the snow this morning and the sky looks very wintry and cold. No offense but I hate the cold and the winter. When I work I look down from my “sky office” at 32,000 and see all the snow we fly over and I’m glad I’m not down there 😂 However I do love me some Montana in the spring and summer!! Great video as always, if you ever came thru Portland Oregon I take you both out for pie 🥧👍
Brrrr. Good one! We like winter camping in our 7 x 14 cargo trailer conversion as well, but so far we've only gone down to ~20F in central Oregon, nothing like you guys! 1" (R5) foam board all around. If we have power we use the mini-split (good down to 5F) else we go heat-buddy on 30lb propane tank. Going to try you're latest fan suggestion - we use fans horizontally / angled down a bit but as you know the floor seems 20deg cooler (at least) than chest height in a small trailer. We use wool socks due to cold floor and they work pretty darn well - much better than 'regular' socks :)
@gonagain pies per gallon is not in my map computer. But I did see a guy that said humans get 41 miles per gallon on coffee. Take care of Linda I got them Cadillacs on my eyes too. Hope to get them repaired in time
hey you 2, COLD VACATIONER? i just sold my trailer for a large chunk of cash, i got bored so planned on making a better one then the last, . this one is going to have sprayed iquad 2 part foam under the whole bottom for the cold weather plus the inside sides and ceiling then covered in plywood molded into place, i figure it going to take about 2 months to finish and then hopefully meet the 2 of you on the road? take care, back to work honey,???
@14:15 when the police come to lock you up ... talk about baseball. it always confounds then you can run away i talked to Will here in the big Q. he is doing well. we went to dinner and he hurt his arm eating French fries too fast but he is ok now.
Lol! Hope to see you this year yet, if we can ever get outta here! Linda is waiting to get scheduled for some cataract surgeries. Take good care of Wil, because Becky isn't there to control him this year. I told her "Don't you care about other people?!"

I love the Frozen lake!! SO where I grew up near Gaston, Oregon the lake froze over nearly every Winter when I was a kid... Now that doesn't happen anymore at least not for many years! Anyways locals would drive around on the Ice for fun usually a couple VW bugs and a small pickup with kids screaming and laughing! Good to see you moving South a little? I would love to see you back near ARIZONA :) either way love your videos!!

Beautiful Crazy Mountains. Yea, it got down to crazy cold in Great Falls, too. We usually stop in Harlowton for gas on our way somewhere and have stayed at the park a couple of times.
We expected to be in AZ too but we have our health appointments, eye appointments, household chores, etc that kept us here. As soon as we can, we'll be heading down the road again.

Another great video. Does the cold affect the battery in the trailer when not in use,or do you leave the heat lamp on all the time? Looking to put a Lifepo4 battery in the back of my truck. Thanks for all the great videos
Hi guys! Which refrigerator are you using now . We have watched you change a couple . I am going to purchase one and don’t remember if you guys are still using the set power or the blue one I’ve seen on your videos . I like the one with the inside light so you can see what is in there in the evening hours Appreciate you and KEEP THE GREAT VIDEOS COMING ! 👊🏾👊🏾
We've been using a SetPower for the last year or more and like it. I just received the new Bluetti F045D which has an icemaker as well as a 45 quart refrigerator/freezer and it looks good. It will be on the market at the end of this month (February). You can't go wrong with a SetPower or ICECO either.

It's hard to say, because we run it on low all night, but don't use it during the day. According to the specs, on full blast it will last for 36 hours, but we run it at about 25 percent, so it would last about 144 hours, or maybe 6 days.
You know, Steve Wallis has his, “Beer Fund,” you two counter it with a, “Pie Fund.”

Not enough to notice, so no.
Another great video. Does the cold affect the battery in the trailer when not in use,or do you leave the heat lamp on all the time? Looking to put a Lifepo4 battery in the back of my truck. Thanks for all the great videos
You can store the batteries as low as -4F. We replaced the heat lamp with an infrared heater and only turn it on when it goes below 0degF.
@@gonagain thanks very much for the reply .
I'm developing a Viking tent for all seasons. When I finish the design I'd like to send you one for you to test out if you're interested?
Keep us posted on your Viking tent, Shaun. Sounds interesting.
@@gonagain will do and thank you!
Hi guys!
Which refrigerator are you using now . We have watched you change a couple . I am going to purchase one and don’t remember if you guys are still using the set power or the blue one I’ve seen on your videos . I like the one with the inside light so you can see what is in there in the evening hours
Appreciate you and
KEEP THE GREAT VIDEOS COMING ! 👊🏾👊🏾
We've been using a SetPower for the last year or more and like it. I just received the new Bluetti F045D which has an icemaker as well as a 45 quart refrigerator/freezer and it looks good. It will be on the market at the end of this month (February). You can't go wrong with a SetPower or ICECO either.
@@gonagain Thank you so very much! I will order it now . I want you two to know you are a TRUE BLESSING to many lives! My lady and I sit, in the evening, and watch you two, and we smile! Of course you make us head to the store to buy pie…. And we aren’t pie eatin folk!! 😂😂😂
Keep those videos coming and know we will be heading to a few of the places you have so graciously shared with all of us.
Also, let me know how we can send you some gas money to help you keep moving on down the road to great adventures!
You two stay HEALTHY SAFE and as I always tell folks……. ENJOYYYY YOUR LIFE👍🏾👍🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I still owe y'all steaks! We are headed out mid-march. Don't know where to yet, 😂. Hope to hookup with y'all somewhere.
Hope to see you somewhere, steaks or no steaks!
Hi Guys🙋♀️🛻🇨🇦❤️‼️Im camping at Pilot Knob LTVA with TumbleweedRV & Crossroads D&T😍, AND Hubby is making his way from Alberta Canada, he has landed in Great Falls MT for the night, he is making a 🐝line straight for me😂🎉, it got to 76° here today! 🥵🤠😉😝🧯🌄🏜🌞‼️
Enjoy the warm days down there! We're still in the teens and snow all around.
I have the same heater as you do. How long does a 20 lb. tank last with it?
It's hard to say, because we run it on low all night, but don't use it during the day. According to the specs, on full blast it will last for 36 hours, but we run it at about 25 percent, so it would last about 144 hours, or maybe 6 days.
We need to see Linda make a Hawaiian Snow Man.
She is a Hawaiian Snow Woman at times, does that count? Thanks for watching!
Just out of curiosity, what do you heat your house with?
We have a natural gas furnace.
What heater is your main source of heat?
We use a NuWay, vented propane heater. It's made for ice fishing shacks.
Thank you
I notice you never go to California. I probably know why but want to hear your reason.
No reason to go there; lack of 2nd Amendment rights.
@@gonagain Throw in the gas prices and other restrictions and I don't blame you.
Switch the names and you will be right Beaver "Town", Deaver "Reservoir".
