That's the way I cook . No measuring, cook to taste, the way my mom and grandma did it. Single until 28, I learned how. Actually took a cooking class my senior year...why? Kenny that is where the chicks were!
You inspire me to want to make time for more camping and to seek places that offer solitude. I look forward to every one of your videos. A special thank you for reminding us all to be kind and be honest. I love that.
Thank you so much. I'm glad the videos have you thinking about going on an adventure. I really hopped my channel would show people we don't have to sell our homes and get rid of our belongings to enjoy the RV/Van Life we see on TH-cam. I work 45 hours a week Monday through Friday as a state employee and cherish the alone time in the woods. It's what recharges my mental batteries, making the work week not suck as bad. The more you do it, the easier it gets. I hope you can find the time to get out there.
Your cinematography, narration, editing and choice of music is simply wonderful. Your videos are truly uplifting and I look forward to them every week. Thank you for taking the time and putting in the effort to produce such quality viewing :-)
Watching Foresty Forest I see... lol. He is a great editor as you know, His drone work is second to none. I like watching your channel and going camping in winter. Different and makes my day!
I often keep the camera pointed at my face in hopes of catching my reaction to a deer jumping out on the trail. I never figured I would see what I thought was a ghost!
Reminds me when I would go up early in the fall to the family cabin near Garrison. I get there around 6 am, just as the sun was rising on Crooked Lake. You could hear the loons calling and a gentle fog on the water. Fall chill in the air - not hot enough for long sleeve t-shirt, not cold enough for a parka, just right with long sleeve and a hoodie with a beanie. Sadly our family made the decision to sell the cabin a few years ago. How I miss going up north. Thank you for making the video.
That's a nice area. There are a lot of nice lakes northeast of Mille Lacs. My former inlaws just sold a lake lot. I pleaded with them not to. I told them the kids would never be able to afford land on a lake, and that lot was passed down in the family for generations. People with deep pockets are scooping up lake lots. But I can understand the temptation when someone with cash contacts you out of the blue. Thanks for watching!
What's all that white stuff all over the ground? I'm a Florida boy.. The only time I see white like that is the sandy beach. Really love your stories, peaceful voice, and calming music you add .. Very well done Sir Kenny!
Yes! But remember when I went to Germany. It took over 4 months of consistent videos to get my impressions back to where they were before the trip. Impressions are how many times TH-cam shows the videos to someone. So it bummed me out knowing that 2 years of consistently making a video was halted by missing 3 weeks of videos. That's why I try to stay consistent. Each video takes about 50 hours to record, edit, and upload. Plus, the 45 hours at my regular job....so yes, im exhausted often. People think I'm super chill on the videos......im actually just wore out. Lol
@@KennyOfAllTrades Wow! I had no idea. Well, I hope you (& Mandi) know how much your subscribers appreciate and throughly enjoy all your hard work. It really is therapeutic being surrounded by mother nature so hopefully you're getting that too. Glad you got the truck fixed! You're awesome dude. 👌
I laugh every time you bring out the leaf blower. My mom is 80 years young and uses her leaf blower to clear the snow from her deck. She says she’s going out to clear her white leaves off the deck. 😂😅😂
Kenny I really appreciate that you are able to post these videos so quickly..almost "real time". That was a really great campground & video, as always. Be well.
The thing with a lot of the more off the beaten campsites/roads here in the Sierras in the winter is that they just gate them off. Even some highway routes. It's cool that you can even get into these places!
Hey Kenny we were looking forward to tuesday and you didn’t have a video . That’s ok , just checking to see if you are ok . I understand everyone needs a little break. Just mainly checking to see if you are ok
Thanks for checking in. I got hit hard with a flu bug this weekend. I had a few photos of my attempt at making a video in a community post. For some reason, TH-cam doesn't show the community posts to everyone. I'm already looking forward to this coming weekend.
So, I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and have made through all your content 😮 now I have to wait like for “Game of Thrones” 😂😂😂 I am trying your bacon weave meatloaf on my pellet grill tonight!! Can’t wait!!
This was an excellent video. For 40 years I drove from the north metro area to Leech Lake and Lake Winnie and drove by the turn off to Hay Lake. One of my regrets is not checking it out. I always intended to but I either had to get home or was in a hurry to get farther north. Thanks for taking me along to finally see it. Would love to see it in the summer But maybe it gets crowded.
It was my first time too It was a really nice Campground. The sites are big and spread apart nicely. A few people have commented that they were there over the summer months, and no one had seen it more than half full.
Kenny you brought back some good memories for me. When I was a Kid and stayed at Grandma Koch's house in the Summer when the Fire Dept. sounded the Noon siren it was time to head in for lunch. Grandma would either have a big fried chicken, roast beef or steak meal on the table. Then for supper it was usually just a sandwich or something simple along with either home made cake or pie. If not cake or pie it would be ice cream with Oreo's. Oreo's were a staple at Grandma's house unless she had baked Molasses, Lemon or Oatmeal/Raisin Cookies.
It is truly peaceful and beautiful to see people enjoying camping in the silence of the winter forest. The white snow-covered landscape and clear air make communion with nature even more special. I also traveled in a motorhome in Korea and watched it with a lot of sympathy. We also support you in Korea.
Thank you for replying so quickly. I really appreciate it. And I do love watching your videos. Im just learning about D-Max all i know its worth to stay with a ball bearing center carage. As a fellow Minnesota. I live in brooklyn center. Friday the 2nd, I fly to Fort Worth Texas to pick up my (new) used truck. It is a 2006 chev.5500 Fifth wheel haller it only has 50600 miles a one owner vehicle. It's clean as a whistle and i'm very excited. I'm selling my Dodge 5.9, which is my preferred motor mainly because it has 2 less cylinders to mess around with. I'm a shade tree diesel mechanic Just like you. Doesn't mean I don't make mistakes but who doesn't. There'll be many upgrades on this duramax. Mainly to make it breathe better intake piping, manifold, exhaust up pipes and my fuel lab filter system from the dodge goes on it. I hope to find a camper soon. Used one's seem to sell fast. Any dealers you find beter then most?? I'll Put On the back of this until I retire. 1-4 years And then get a fifth wheel. Thanks Jess Feltl. Master plumber. p.s. I saw you had a pipeline supply safety vest On, yes I'm cyber stalking a bit. I used Hopkins location till it moved. TTFN.
I wish I could refer you to a decent RV dealer, but I haven't had any experience with them. We had a camping world move into town a few years back. They took over a Ganser Mountain store. They sold an amazing number of campers the last 3 to 4 years... But they closed the doors a few months back without notice. I feel bad for all the people who bought a new camper with a warranty only to see the dealership parking lot empty the next month. I know a few guys that run the 5500 for their auto recycling business. They love their trucks. I think you have an awesome setup.
I always love your videos, they really relax me after a busy week. Nice evening walk, I saw a lot of tracks. I like watching the raccoons come out at night. Great dinner, I’d like to try maybe using some rice with it. There seems to be such good camping areas up there, (I’m in Ohio) Thanks for another lovely evening😊
Great video! The short ribs looked awesome. Love it when you go hiking in the snow at night. The crunch of your footsteps and the glitter of the frost is magic to watch. 😊
Cool Vid. But hope you were carrying at least a 'Bear Riot Fogger in your Jacket....as you 'strayed from camp' into the Darkness. Neat, Spooky stuff there. Man...those Ribs got me Hungry!
I am new here! LOVE your content! I pray to be doing the exact same thing very soon!!! Winter camping in a truck camper and I wouldn't mind some ice fishing🥰🥰
Kenny, try deglazing the pot after browning the meat with a little wine, scraping the bits and pieces off the bottom, then add stock. The taste is great. Something else is go to a local hobby shop and get Bob Smith Industries IC2000 Black Rubber Toughened Crazy Glue. Clean the fuel hose and seal with the crazy glue. Works for flat tires on the bike as well. Works with just about anything. Gets you out of a pinch
Great tips! I've never cooked with wine and don't know much about it. I see people do exactly what you are saying on cooking shows....I love watching cooking shows....is there a difference in cooking wine and drinking wine? If I go to the local liquor store, can I pick up any red wine? I do notice on the cooking shows they say red wine and sherry...is that the same thing?
Glad that was an easy fix for the truck. Sucks when things quit working in the winter. I just got the heat working again in my jeep. I did however get some use out this travel electric blanket i got several years ago. Plugged it into my hot spot and it helped keep my warm.
@@KennyOfAllTrades I used it as a blanket over my lap and legs. The heat was blowing barely lukewarm, enough so the windows didn't freeze. But this was during that spell not long ago when it was below zero for days. The blanket worked pretty well. Though it would have been better with two. If I had one to sit on, and the other on my lap and legs. My heat is now fixed. Thank God!
Good evening from Godley Texas, another peaceful and beautiful place to camp. Good thing you carry a shovel to dig a cat hole to take care of business. Nice looking Park, $17 is very reasonable. It's 76°F on the back porch. The aroma must be amazing inside the camper. Yummy looking ribs, I'm on my way 😂 Thanks for taking us along on your adventure. Live life to the fullest. Stay safe and happy travels 😎
Hey Kenny! I use a dark red wine instead of tomatoes or BBQ sauce - it's insane! One more thing I end my night every night chillin to your videos. Comfort and soothing! Thank you!!!
Another great video! and, another great meal. this is the second week in a row that we have taken an idea for a meal from your channel.....I cant wait to tune in next week to see what I am having for dinner! :) Kenny, thank you for posting your videos!
Great video, my campervan is a female and every so often on a nice trip she causes drama going into limp mode or what have you, typical and you dealt with it well!
Hey Kenny. I stayed in that campground in August of '21. It wasn't very busy but it was also a Sunday! I only stayed one night because we couldn't have a fire. (Banned due to extreme drought.) Also, I wanted to go someplace with a view of the sky and this campground is all trees. Full canopy overhead. Nice if you like shade though. Your story about the big farm dinner made me chuckle. My brother and I helped a family during haying one day when we were teenagers. We saw that table and our jaws dropped. We still tell that story to our kids and they look at us with skepticism!
This week you hit kind of close to an area i am familiar with. Both sets of grandparents lived up there. Thanks for another great episode. Hopefully the check engine light isn't too bad.
Very chill vibe on this video, I enjoyed it!! That's a a bumer about your truck but at least that one issue was an easy fix!! You might wanna start bringing a backup flashlight!! You would be screwed if that thing went out on ya in there middle of the woods!!
I know you going out every weekend camping and I know its some work I bet but man I also bet its nice to get out and reset and relax. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! Your channel is definitely gaining some traction and I look forward to watching every week. So relaxing for me during the stressful week. Thank you again Kenny!!
Thank you very much! I appreciate the words of encouragement. I agree , getting out on the weekends helps my mind reset. If i didn't have the channel, I would still be out there.....not every weekend, lol. But I would still be soaking up the outdoors to reset my soul.
Enjoyed the video! Thanks! My wife & I camped in a few MN state forests this past October (visiting from Arkansas). Used the recommended Yodel app for paying the $17 campground fee. We were lucky that one of us had cell data service, so we were able to pay right from the campsite we selected. I agree with you that MN probably needs to find a solution for "dead" cell areas.
I love it when I get comments like this from folks in BC. Your area looks like what I imagine heaven looks like. I used to love watching Taylor Dzaman explore BC. I know he was on Victoria Island a lot. I also watching Chrome. Back in his traveling days, before all his breakdowns, he showed us a lot of BC as well. It's a dream of mine to make it over there. Thanks for watching.
Another Great video Kenny! Thanks for sharing and more cooking tips for me...😂... I keep looking at the snow. So glad! Although it's beautiful that we don't have any here in Southern Ontario Canada. But if you enjoy rain, that's all we've had so far this winter lol..,... Thanks again Kenny. Great work, it looked very nice and now that I'm watching you on a new TV, a 4K one looks even better 😂❤ btw we have one thing in common. We both had a dentist appointment on Wednesday arrrrrrg lol
@@KennyOfAllTrades thanks Kenny, it went well much better than my mind had it going lol. Hopefully yours went well and got that tooth fixed.. stay safe my friend ❤️
Another great video!! I am from Hawaii--born and raised. It has its own beauty; however, in the past 10-15 years, it seemed to be very touristy. There are some places here but not on the main island of Oahu. Minnesota, however, especially the spots you visit, has an unspoiled raw beauty about it. It is breathtaking, and I am watching a video. Aloha from Hawaii...new subscriber.
Seriously. I was like....WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!! At first I couldn't believe my eyes. You could see from that stump how I got that impression. I keep the camera pointed it me in hopes of catching my reaction of a deer jumping out. I didn't think I would see a ghost!
Kenny, love the videos…I look forward to every weeks video. You and a few other truck camper TH-camrs have inspired me to do the same! I’ve started the process… bought a camper worthy truck now to find a camper!
Hi Kenny, thanks for another enjoyable video. The beef ribs looked really good. The walk in the woods that was so freaking funny you thought you saw a ghost 👻 I have to admit it did look like one 😂😂😂 See ya next week:)
Kenny those beef ribs looked great. I can see making those with some teriyaki and shred em up over some white rice. Thanks for letting us tag along on your camping trips.
Man, I love your videos. I look forward to them every week. When I work out in my garage I cast your channel to the tv. It auto plays one video to the next, and I find myself sidetracked more often than I am getting anything done 😂 There is something so relaxing about you, your voice, and the cadence of your videos. I hope you are able to go full-time someday! I would love to see that!
That's so cool to hear. It brings a huge smile to my face. I used to do the same thing in my garage. I'd have my favorite channels playing for background noise while working on projects. I'm humbled to be on in your shop!
As I chill by the fireplace at home with a beer, I enjoy your weekly escape to the wilds. Not able to get out myself lately but really enjoy the tours of the remote and quiet camping spots you find. Thanks for letting us tag along.
Man. I had a rough day. Your channel make think how simple things are the best. Wish i could let this stressing world to be like that soon. Thx for sharing this simply but beautiful piece of your life.
First time to your channel. I like it. Oh I saw you watching forestry forest, on your tv. Another one I like to watch.😊my camper is in a seasonal. I’m not brave enough to go out on a permanent trip, haha.
Really nicely done video with editing and music. Very relaxing music and scenery. I appreciate your effort! We have a TC also and I learn from what you do, where you go and how you camp. Love to see your recipe successes and fails. You keep it real. Thank you!
always a pleasure to spend a little time in the great outdoors, with the mellowest gentleman camper.
Its true....
lol, artvandelay, you made me think of George in Seinfeld.😂

Oh yes....I often get grief for saying unthaw. Lol
I hope you carry a firearm when camping. Can never be too safe. Also, carry a smaller backup flashlight when you're walking at night.
No new video this week? Hope all is well and looking forward to the next video.cheers

The music you selected during the lake sunset was absolutely perfect. Thank you for your consistent uploads and quality. ☺️
Thank you. It took a bit to find the right soundtrack to match the mood and scenery. I'm glad you liked it.
Is there anything prettier than a blue sky, green evergreens, white snow and that complete silence. Perfect recipe for peace.

I laugh every time you bring out the leaf blower. My mom is 80 years young and uses her leaf blower to clear the snow from her deck. She says she’s going out to clear her white leaves off the deck. 😂😅😂

If I had one to sit on, and the other on my lap and legs. My heat is now fixed. Thank God!
Ii enjoy your adventures
A truly calming pleasure to watch. Subd and thanks
i find my self by sunday wishing it was Tuesday so your video will come out , love them
Hope you enjoy it!
loved it, thanks again for posting @@KennyOfAllTrades
Nice you were watching the latest Foresty Forest video. Love that guy and his vids!
Great video, my campervan is a female and every so often on a nice trip she causes drama going into limp mode or what have you, typical and you dealt with it well!
Great video and thanks for the tip on the TSC touch up kit
Thanks for sharing. I would imagine this is a fairly quiet campground.
Beautiful area looks very peaceful
This week you hit kind of close to an area i am familiar with. Both sets of grandparents lived up there.
Thanks for another great episode. Hopefully the check engine light isn't too bad.
Wow! Love this!
Enjoyed again, Kenny, the sun you missed, we stole it ,it's in Florida 😊
1. I can't imagine -54 degrees...
2. What a peaceful weekend! Thank you for sharing with us.
3. Love seeing Foresty Forest make a cameo appearance. :)
Very chill vibe on this video, I enjoyed it!! That's a a bumer about your truck but at least that one issue was an easy fix!! You might wanna start bringing a backup flashlight!! You would be screwed if that thing went out on ya in there middle of the woods!!
My spidey senses would guide me home.....and the smell of whatever is cooking over the fire. Thanks for checking out the video Larry.
Love how you always have the office playing on the TV 😂 great show!
It reminds me of a simpler time..
You select some of the most beautiful places to camp. We alway look forward to seeing you every Tuesday
Great video Kenny. Please bring us along when you ice fish.
Great video!!! Your ribs looked so good 👍❤ already looking forward to next week 😊.
I sure enjoy your videos and appreciate the time it takes to put them together so well. See you next week, from Quesnel BC ❤
I hope your appointment went ok! Take care
Thanks for watching.
Lol Kenny..your look when you seen the stump you thought was a person with a sheet wrapped around them. Priceless!
Seriously. I was like....WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!! At first I couldn't believe my eyes. You could see from that stump how I got that impression. I keep the camera pointed it me in hopes of catching my reaction of a deer jumping out. I didn't think I would see a ghost!
@KennyOfAllTrades it would have startled me too. Especially at night. Take care!
Kenny, love the videos…I look forward to every weeks video. You and a few other truck camper TH-camrs have inspired me to do the same! I’ve started the process… bought a camper worthy truck now to find a camper!
Awesome! I hope you have a great time. Be safe and have fun out there.
Watching this on Jan 31st and it's 52° in northern MN today. Crazy winter...
Hi Kenny, thanks for another enjoyable video.
The beef ribs looked really good.
The walk in the woods that was so freaking funny you thought you saw a ghost 👻 I have to admit it did look like one 😂😂😂
See ya next week:)
Man your videos are so peaceful and fun to watch. And I would not have the courage to wander alone in the dark like you. 😂
You're getting a lot better at cooking Kenny!
Kenny those beef ribs looked great. I can see making those with some teriyaki and shred em up over some white rice. Thanks for letting us tag along on your camping trips.
That does sound good.
Man, I love your videos. I look forward to them every week. When I work out in my garage I cast your channel to the tv. It auto plays one video to the next, and I find myself sidetracked more often than I am getting anything done 😂
There is something so relaxing about you, your voice, and the cadence of your videos.
Sorry to hear that. I hope the video can provide you with a little bit of relief. Even if it's only for twenty minutes or so.
New subscriber came across the channel loved my first one look forward to watching some older ones.
Thanks! I'm glad you found the channel.
Yes sir, I'm 600 mile south of you, and it hit 60 degrees F here the last couple days. I'll take it, after several mornings of 12 below zero.
Thank you!
All of a sudden I can appreciate ASMR. When you chop the onions it's very pleasing to the ear. Can't explain it.
I absolutely love your nighttime walks! Thanks for taking us along!
Rufus T’s bbq sauce is some good shit! Lover the sweet and hot one!
Nice content, Brother!
