The Ultimate Luigi's Mansion Iceberg Explained

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 7 พ.ค. 2024
- Hello everyone! It's been a while since my last iceberg video (Super Mario Sunshine), so I thought I'd give it another go with a really well put together Luigi's Mansion one that I found on IcebergCharts. The list contains 219 entries on 6 different levels, so I think it's enough information to be crammed into a game like Luigi's Mansion. Regardless of that though, I hope you guys enjoy it.
About Luigi's Mansion:
Luigi's Mansion is a 2001 action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo. The game was a launch title for the GameCube and was the first game in the Mario franchise to be released for the console; it was released in Japan on September 14, 2001, in North America on November 18, 2001, in Europe on May 3, 2002, and in Australia on May 17, 2002. It is the second video game in which Luigi is the main character instead of Mario, after Mario Is Missing!. Players control him as he explores a haunted mansion, searches for Mario and deals with ghosts by capturing them through a vacuum cleaner supplied by Professor E. Gadd. (via. Wikipedia)

Errors:
The Hidden Mansion IS in all regions, it’s just that the PAL one is much better. All America got were ghosts with more health and a stronger Poltergust. PAL on the other hand got a lot more changes that I won’t get into
E.Gadd says at the end that all Luigi’s hard work lasted only one night
Luigi’s Mansion 64 could refer to the ROM hack, or that Luigi’s Mansion started on the 64DD in 1999, but that didn’t last long
SM64 audio sample refers to how when you collect one of Mario’s items, the star collect sound from Mario 64 plays
I have no clue about the crows but I think it might be how they appear in the one cutscene and never again
Not an error, but the biography of Sue Pea is really depressing
My guess for the 3DS Box Art is that they updated the Luigi model, but not the ghosts model
There was an unused multiplayer mode that was recently found. Maybe that’s where bMario was going to be used
The first person view from the GBH can be seen in the same magazine the Safari Ghost rumor came from. It’s either on the same page or the one next to it
Luigi’s shoelaces never appear in any game again
There’s no official answer to how Mario was captured, but a video by ZoomZike used evidence from the game to try and figure it out
I’m pretty sure the reason the larger gallery exists is because they were testing room scales. Even if the room itself is longer, the collision is the same as the final
Area 4 darkness refers to how the hallway in Area 4 can never be lit up
Why would King Boo plant more of Mario’s items that would help Luigi? He probably did bring spares
Something about Bogmires origins, and I don’t remember where I heard this, but I remember hearing that Bogmire is a creation made up of fear, more specifically, the fear of others
Real Money refers to how usually we see only Coins in the Mario universe, but this is one of the only times we see stuff like dollar bills and gemstones for currency
I have no clue what Fire Tornado is
Living Spooky refers to how in one of the rooms (Lydias, I think?), there’s a framed picture of Spooky when he was alive. I don’t blame you for getting this wrong, because the source didn’t include it
Beta64 said it took 6 months to program the dust, so either you’re wrong or he is. I’m leaning towards Beta64 being wrong, because it’s hard to argue against game files
I would bring up other things like Elemental Blast and how I did actually hear something in the Toad theme right before the song looped, but other commenters pointed those out. Overall, this was a great iceberg. my compliments go to you 👍
Thanks! I appreciate hearing feedback from people, it means more to me than people think. Unrelated to this video in specific but I’ve thought about making addendum videos with full corrections or added context, as my older vids get a lot wrong at times, and I’ve since gotten better at researching and what not. There’s only a couple of things in the iceberg vids that actually embarrass me that I got wrong, but it is what it is as nobody is perfect
Added correction, Real money, I’m pretty sure refers to the fact that the money found in the fake mansion is real, which is why Luigi builds a new one in its place depending on how much money he finds. This is what I always heard about this point at least.
Hiya. Commenting about the Bogmire fear entry. When you look at Bogmire's entry on the GBH (Game Boy Horro) it says that he is a product of the mansions fear and despair. But that he's not sure who to fear or what to despair of. Reminds me of my depression lol
Yep, I'm wrong. 6 months. I learned this and said "Ops, I need to edit the Iceberg" and then forgot
@@maddosshmillore I didn’t think the creator of the iceberg would show up. great job! the bigger iceberg, the better IMO
I HAD no idea badger from breaking bad had a youtube channel
Lmfao now that you said it xX
NAHHHHH😭😭💀 That's what his voice reminded me of omg
1:06:34 Wait, how is it an obscure theory that King Boo is the one who sent the letter telling Luigi he won the mansion?
He pretty much confirms this in his final speech.
King Boo: "...Seriously, though, who would actually believe that mansions get given away in contests?! Talk about stupid! What do they feed you Mario brothers anyway... gullible soup?"
Why would he say this if the letter was actually real?
Yeah, it's a bit.. weird that the creators of the iceberg put that in the obscure portion.
How did whoever made this think it belonged at the bottom? The tiering on this is questionable.
I believe that unused "poisoned" animation is actually a choking animation. You know, for when the grabbing ghosts grab you. They probably thought it looked a little too violent, so they made a new version that looks more like Luigi is struggling to get the ghosts off of him, rather than him actually having his windpipe throttled.
This would also make sense because some of the grabbing ghosts don't even do damage to you when they grab you, they only hinder your attacks, so it would make sense to have a more tame animation for that.
25:46 I recently have played Luigis mansion, and I swear E Gadd says that Luigi did it all in one night.
He says it when talking to your after capturing king boo.
he does say it
I definitely hear a weird noise in the Toad theme. Listen closely at 1:29:58
It's pretty quiet, but it's there, and it sounds like a chair creaking while being moved or something.
I’m pretty sure it’s a reversed sound
Yea i hear it too, at least 3 distinct "creaks"
Same
It plays in the gallery too.
Yeah I'd day it sounds like a reversed note
Btw, elemental blast means when you press the trigger quickly, you can perform a longer range projectile version of the element that uses up more of the element meter
I thought I was the only one who knew, it’s pretty fun to use, but I don’t know how practical it’s use is
I guess its like the super mario sunshine quick blast
Also the Prima guide for Sunshine says Bowser Jr. used Shadow Mario to trick E. Gadd into giving him the paintbrush which puts a hole in the evil Gadd theory.
I dunno if you get this but you sound almost like badger from breaking bad, i dont know, just seemed kind of funny(in a good sense ofc, i find that mans voice nice to listen to). I havent finished the video yet but i can tell that this is gonna be interesting! Loved this game as a kid!
Bro, Badger was the maaan /g
i thought the same thing lmao
badger and skinny pete were like the mvps of the shows imo
LMAO I hear it now holy shit
3:08 - When the main part of Totaka's Song starts playing (he's taking over it).
My theory for why Bowser Jr. got the magic paintbrush is that he already had the bandana that turned him into Shadow Mario, so E. Gadd thought he was Mario.
Or Bowser Jr. only thinks Gadd "gave" him the brush because he likes to think of himself as the good guy and in reality he never got permission to take it.
Or he's just straight up lying. Wouldn't surprise me.
Or maybe E. Gadd simply didn't think Bowser Jr. would be a bad guy, since they didn't know each other, and maybe Jr. pretended to be nice, and so Gadd thought he could trust the young fella.
58:43 It's referring to the unused texture of a prototype GameCube found in the files. It's loaded during the boss fights for Chauncey and Bogmire and is likely a placeholder background during development
1:19:16 in the gamecube version that is true, but in the 3ds version there is heart dialog for him. His heart info is: "Go back to the woods, boyo"
Great Video!
1:08:03 For the “fire tornado” entry, my guess is that this entry is talking about a visual flair that appears during the King Boo/Bowser fight. If you pay attention to the background scenery during the fight, you can sometimes see a fiery vortex move about. While this can happen multiple times throughout the fight, the vortex is pretty brief and can be easy to miss. That’s my guess for that entry.
i think the 3ds boxart one is referring to how detailed his teeth are and maybe just the general mishmash of his render compared to the old ones alongside it
In my opinion, the crows are a symbol that Luigi's entering the range of the mansion's illusion. Since they don't reappear anywhere plus the fact that they're live animals compared to the ghost rats and bats seen in the mansion, the crows signify to the player narratively that you've crossed the line into the supernatural.
For the 3ds cover art, i have to assume it's about luigi's weirdly detailed teeth
Yeah, it's probably that
I was not expecting to get a Luigis Mansion iceberg today. Been like 18 years since I first played it on gamecube and I still play it yearly and I'm extremely nostalgic for it. Really enjoyed the video as usual! Always high quality and though I know a lot about the game it did teach me 1 or 2 things I never knew ❤
The thing about Gadd is, he's not evil. He's just not nessicarily good either. He only cares about his inventions and experiments. He sees everything Luigi does as purely a test of his inventions, which is reflected in some of the things you'll hear him say after missions in other luigi's mansion games. He's always really quick to shower his inventions with praise while disregarding those around him. Here's a couple examples:
After the Bogmire fight: "Even if that lightning had cooked your goose, the Poltergust 3000 would be perfectly fine!"
LM3, when first rescued: "You want to save your friends, you say?" *Throws head back dramatically and groans*
LM2, after the mission Double Trouble: "I really haven't been paying attention to what's been going on up there... I thought a ghost had somehow snuck through with Toad, so I socked him in the nose! He'll heal up eventually."
He's also constantly talking about forgetting his toad assistants. He has no problems throwing Luigi into dangerous situations, but he also never really leaves Luigi with no options. In fact, the entire Dark Moon game was started by Gadd literally abducting Luigi against his will. True, it ended up being a good idea to do, since Mario was captured, but there's more! In the security pictures that the toads give you throughout the game, he sees Mario's hat in the painting and doesn't recognize him until most of the painting is visible in the last image. This shows how little he pays attention to other people.
Him giving the brush to Bowser Jr was just another of his experiments. He got to test both the brush and the FLUDD at the same time while not having to put in an ounce of work himself. He does the same with the Poltergust, Dark Light Device, Stryobulb, Gooigi, and even his E-Gates with Luigi throughout the course of the three games.
I think Gadd is merely a psychopath, incapable of feeling emotions or real connections to people. Not an evil one, just one that only finds meaning in life through his inventions.
24:02 This refers to the fact that you can shoot a blast shot when holding the R trigger all the way down with an element which costs 1 full part of the meter.
Replying to the question at Minute 51:32
Personally i don't feel like Egadd orchestrated the whole plot of Luigi's Mansion by reviving King Boo (Tho Sunshine is entirely his fault). In the game it is said that the mansion is basically King Boo's plan to take revenge on both Mario, Luigi and Egadd all combined, Mario & Luigi most likely becouse of the multiple instances of Mario defeating him (It's not confirmed but i believe he's the Big Boo we fight on both SMW and Mario 64 since King Bob Omb is just referred as Big Bob Omb on the same game) and Egadd becouse he captured Boolossus just days prior.
Egadd still is a neutral character tho, still felt like clarifying this point, good video still!
Also i believe all the portraid ghosts are strangers to each other aside from a few exceptions, all of them were captured by Egadd prior to the events of the game and King Boo freed them all after creating the mansion.
Also the fire tornado entry at 1:07:56 makes reference to an artwork of the game seen here: www.mariowiki.com/Gallery:Luigi%27s_Mansion#/media/File:Fire_Elemental_Medal_Luigi.jpg
Luigi looks like he's making a fire tornado but it's more optical illusion than anything
I'm still not sure I believe Bowser Jr saying E.Gadd "gave" him the brush. Something tells me either he was disguised as Shadow Mario which fooled the elderly near-sighted E.Gadd into thinking he was giving the brush to Mario, or he didn't know who Bowser Jr was and thought he could be a good test subject.
@JRS06 It makes sense, by the time of Luigi's mansion Mario was popular even among ghosts (the one with the crystal ball at least) but Eggad just describe him as red Luigi, if he doesn't know mario is possible he doesn't know Bowser either
I also heard that the game development was finished at 3 in the morning. I believe I heard it in a TH-cam video decompiling the game, and the files show the last time major game files were edited was 3 AM in 2001
that's so real tho
39:14 Something interesting is that both houses are missing the stone fence but comparing the two, the Mario Kart (Rank A) is more closer to it's buding desing then Dark Moon (Rank D) yet the Dark Moon (Rank D) is built on the ground simular to the original, unlike Mario Kart (Rank A)...
Another possibility is that Luigi had enough for both the Rank A manison & the Rank D house (considering the Rank A different location).
or another way to explain both mansion existing would be the Hidden Mansion.
42:20 Hold it for amoment, it was discovered in the code that multiplayer was actually being worked on in the original game (While it does cause some issues, it is still somewhat work)
50:30 has also happened in Mario Party & even Luigi Mansion 3 with him selling known haunted stuff
The crow thing might be referencing Paper Mario TTYD.
There are Crows in Twilight Town. If you use Vivian to hide, you can hear them banter. I think one of the crows mentions Luigi's Mansion.
As a huge Luigi's Mansion fan I enjoyed this video alot, I knew a ton but also learned a ton
Also 1:30:55 I believe E.Gadd can probably track the Gameboy Horror, as it clearly has a GPS system since it shows where Luigi is in real time
Great video, as a massive Luigi's Mansion GCN enthusiast, it was great learning some things I actually didn't know somehow.
I also gotta say, the audio cues were a very nice touch. The way you would segue showcasing a song into it being the bgm track, or subtly changing the bgm after showing a song or sound was a great change of pace and probably one of the most unique qualities i've seen in an iceberg video, since most of them just tend to stick with one bgm per layer. Fantastic editing choice.
I think the abnormality in the Gallery Background music (1:07:25) is referring to either the weird distortions in the music, or towards the end of the track, you can hear what sounds like faint clacking and/or clattering.
1:30:40 Landline telephones typically did continue to work during blackouts because they didn't get their electricity over the mains wiring, rather they were powered over the phone line by the phone operator which given's gadd's research he's probably set up his lab to do that.
Awesome video! I think the background noise in the Gallery Music is the machine that creates the paintings. Compare it to the cutscenes where E Gadd makes the paintings, I think its similar. Also, I think the "Weird Noise" in Toad's theme is where there is no melody, it sounds like someone moving a chair and it squeaks. The sound is only there for a moment but a few times.
The Totaka's song segment near the beginning is incorrect. Not sure if it was an editing mistake, but you took the wrong part of the controller settings song, as the actual Totaka song shows up a little later in the section you used. You can hear the actual Totaka's song at 3:08.
33:11 it uses OG LM1’s renders on the back of the 3DS box art
59:05 There were people speculating that it was originally for the N64 because there was an unused sound that's the same sound effect as the one that plays when Mario gets a star in Mario 64, and also the Daisy portrait from Mario Tennis 64
Pikmin Iceberg when?
Mom come in here, new iceberg video just dropped
thanks for the in detail credits, a lot of research done here, nice vid
Hey! I thought about contacting you on discord to see if you were interested in proof watching the video, but I went ahead and released the video anyway. I'm glad to see that there's not that many things that were not inaccurate, but regardless of that I'm going to have a pinned comment with constantly updated context, like how you mentioned in your discord that the chandelier only drops before defeating Chauncey. I definitely should've known that. Glad you enjoyed the video though :D
It was a pleasant surprise to come across a new iceberg video about a game I love. Thank you!
15:00 "And I don't think there's much to say here" you could've mentioned that the Mansion can actually be destroyed by the players, and after a bit the Mansion reforms
I remember seeing the beta Luigi's Mansion game over screen and being so terrified of it that I tried to play it, but ended up just staring at the console menu for about an hour because I was so scared that it was still in the game
Also, I'm pretty sure I know why the Sitting Room is so unsettling. The room is designed more like an actual room in a house rather than a game level, and that makes it strangely nostalgic, especially with the flower wallpaper and couches being something you would find in, say, a grandparent's house. This nostalgia is warped by the overall creepy nature of the game, the graphics that remind you it isn't real, and the ghosts in the room.
Yay! Needed something like this to pick me up after work. Luigi’s Mansion is one of my favorite games, and seeing all this new stuff I’ve never heard about is so cool! I had no idea you could burn down the fake doors!!!
57:45 A "finished" version of this track actually appears in-game but it only appears during ONE dialogue so most players never get to hear it
It's also harder to hear because the finished track has random noises at the start and the song doesn't fully start into a few seconds in, so it's very possible that unless you purposefully don't hit A you will never hear the song
To be more specific, it appears when you woke him up but before you hit him with the bouncy ball toy
Just found your channel a few weeks ago. So glad I did. Keep up the good work! 😊
1:07:56 "FIRE TORNADOES" I believe this is referring to the fact that, in the 3ds version, they added fire tornadoes that fly around in the background of the King Boo battle.
Thanks! I now have something new and interesting to watch today! Thanks for always putting out interesting and good content !
This guy sounds like Badger from Breaking Bad, soothing enough to sleep to this video 🙏
I love this game to death and studied every small detail for a year or more by now, you nailed (almost) everything
I never found the controls of the 3DS remake to be bad. On the contrary, the fact that you can hold a button to switch between sidestep mode and standard mode adds a ton of flexibility in the movement. Plus, there are gyro controls that let you easily aim up and down, which is very useful. The only downside is the lack of analog triggers, meaning you can only shoot your elemental attacks at a consistent rate.
I love your videos so much, I can never get enough!! ❤
1:10:23 When you think about it, it's not totally unfounded that Luigi could see lightning from every room in the mansion, assuming the whole building is an illusion. However, given the history of stuff in the mansion, namely the portrait ghosts, it's hard to know for sure whether the mansion truly is an illusion. E. Gadd doesn't really seem like the most trustworthy guy, and if I remember correctly it's only him that claims the mansion is an illusion.
Regardless, it's interesting to think about, although it's probably just an oversight by the devs.
IIRC before they turn Mario back EGadd mentions that the mansion disappeared after King Boo was captured, and that's why they used the money to build an actual mansion for Luigi, confirming it was an illusion all along.
"Can you think of a Mario game that doesn't have Bowser in it?"
Um? Super Mario Land 1 & 2?
True, but those are actuall also theorized to be long after bowser is gone 😂 Hence why Mario is going for Daisy, cause Peach is safe and secure now. And probably taken, people believe by luigi and they have Rosalina, but who knows. Those are all theories.
@@watermaster5154 Never heard of that theory so it doesn't count in my eyes. Also this theory makes no sense anyway. How can SML1 & 2 be set way after Bowser is dead when characters like Daisy and Wario appear in games which have Bowser clearly alive? Wario is even in the DS remake of 64 which i'm pretty sure that game would take place way after SML2 after Wario went through character development.
Cool video. You're becoming one of the best Mario-based channels on TH-cam.
*and Geometry Dash!
1:18:40 I think this was a painting for one of the unused portrait ghosts
I also wouldn’t be surprised if the “welcome welcome to” sound effect was intended to play on the title screen at some point
Great video!
Side note, your pronunciation of Neville is amusing
I would have never expected Winnie the Pooh explaining to me an iceberg chart, no but seriously good video keep up !
The fact that an early build was sold for that much money just for the guy who bought it not to share the findings is strange.
If you share it, it'll lose most of it's value.
for the telephone part at 1:31:00. land line telephones don't require power to work, they work through the landline itself
awesome stuff dawg
1:31:03
Maybe the GBH and the poltergust send signals to E. Gadd's lab, like modern tracking devices, just to keep check on Luigi.
Great video, I would like to add another entry to the Iceberg since zi always found it funny:
In the Italian boxart, one of the selling points talks about the ghost Ciro (a common italian name), but in the game there is no ghost named Ciro. It is believed that it was a early name for Ombretta (Bogmire's italian name and means Small Shadow) since Bogmire is the ghost shown in the screenshot with that caption.
And I also don't think this mistake was ever fixed even in subsequent reprints of the game, like the Player's Choice edition
God I love Luigi's mansion, thank you for the video!
This game was my childhood, kickass video
Beta 64 uploaded an excellent video back in 2019 about the developmental history of Luigi's Mansion, and he talks about a lot of what was shown in this video.
1:09:25 When I was a kid playing TTYD I’ve seen Luigi wearing his poltergust 3000 twice. It’s a great Easter egg and very rare. Once during a fight with Doopliss and another time during the Shadow Queen fight but not in the same playthrough of the game. I played TTYD way too many times.
30:04 My best guess would be cuz the crows quack like ducks but it could be anything honestly
1:14:27 Dont forget how toad opens up all the locked doors while running around all the rooms.
Fantastic video, I was hoping for today to be a productive day with sitting down to get some homework done, but as soon as I saw my Iceberg in a video I knew I had to sit down and watch it immediately
Never thought something I worked on in between my High School classes would be turned into an hour-long video. When I finished this Iceberg in 2022, I had actually started writing a script for a video explaining it, but I never finished it with finishing High School and now starting College. But now I can put that idea to rest seeing as someone made it. Still in awe
Though that being said, I really didn't think someone was gonna make a video explaining it, I've been meaning to go back and add a few things that I had learned, but more importantly, make it more professional by adding more explanation to the entries and deleting a few.
I'm a Luigi's Mansion 1 superfan and there were many iceberg charts of it but none of them had a full list of most of the game's knowledge. All had scatter shots of info when I was like "What about this?"
Not only that but I wanted to add a few entries that I had seen nowhere or no one was talking about.
I would have loved to help you with this video, and explain a few things/had my input
A few times I was like "No no, you had it right the first time" or "Yep you got it, even though I didn't provide an explanation on site. (Which I'd been meaning to do lol)
My Twitter and Instagram are both also Maddosshmillmore. I'd love to talk about this experience and explain entries that may got misunderstood.
Will check out the rest of your channel, love Iceberg videos :)
If you want to talk on discord, you can add me there!
Awesome Video Bro.
23:53 By clicking the triggers down all the way, you can shoot a blast of element. Very useful when fighting Boolossus.
No clue how I got here from a Ninjasexparty song video, but this was really good. I commend you on your research, I grew up on and still kinda fear this game 😂 This and Outlast 1 plus Whistleblower. Those two were scary af. And still are.
1:29:00 Mario even got his own island in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, it makes no sense that he would want the mansion for himself.
While I don't doubt the Crows were just included in the intro to add to the spooky ambience, if you are looking for a more significant symbolic meaning to them, there is some substance to look a bit deeper into.
Crows are often used as a symbol of death, as they are scavengers who eat dead animals. Their presence could be seen as foreshadowing of the fact that the mansion is filled with the ghosts of dead people, or that Luigi is following the map to what is supposed to be his death.
Crows are also infamous for stealing shiny objects. That could also mean their presence foreshadows the vast amounts of gold and coins within the mansion.
Lastly, crows are incredibly intelligent birds. Perhaps the crows already know what's going to happen?
YESSSSSS I NEEDED THISSSSSS... love Luigi's mansion
51:33 regarding the lottery, king boo expressly calls the mario brothers gullible for believing they had won the mansion, so he definitely sent it to them.
Luigis mansion shook me to my core as a kid lol, going back it's just a lil goofy :p Great game for real and one of the most nostalgic games ever for me, reminds me of sitting on the floor with my friend around 5 y/o and trying to figure it out but never succeeding XD
I absolutely loved this video, Luigi's Mansion Beta material is some of the most interesting things to exist in gaming history.
professor E. gadd directly states that it only took one night. it's been a while since i played it but according to the wiki the direct quote is "This'll mess with your head: All your hard work lasted only a single night! Well done, Luigi!"
about the phones working during the blackout, landlines dont use electricity from the house its directly through the telephone lines
Luigi with shoelaces is so cursed.
Badger always makes the most fire videos 🔥 🔥 💯
I just saw someone else comment Badger 😂
25:20 This is actually true. E Gadd specificially states at the end of the game when you insert the last ghosts in the lab that you did all of this in a single night.
This is awesome Luigi’s mansion is great love to see more videos about it. The first game is still my favorite 100% just can’t beat its atmosphere
My personal favorite off the trilogy
12:37 Something you missed out, if you don't come back to water the plant after defeating a boss ghost, it will wilt and die.
Thanks I’m sad now. Poor plant
29:26 part of the voice clip actually got used for a trailer of the 3ds remake, although it still remained unused in that version of the game
According to Beta64, the overheat meter was paired with unlimited use of the elemental powers. but in the final game, it's swapped. and the overheat meter because the element meter and the vacuum is unlimited

It's lines like this that bring about s wave of nostaligia.
Never played Weegi's Mansion or seen much of it before watching this.
Woah... So the entry about the lightning frequency increasing the more you moved in the foyer kinda spooked me because I encountered that as a kid and thought that it was something I was misremembering about the game. To hear that other people have also experienced it is pretty cool though. I'm not crazy, yet again!
Edit to say: As a kid I thought they made it so lightning strikes would sometimes jumpscare you when you tried to do things or interact with things or open doors, I'm not saying it couldn't be 100% placebo lol
I have a theory about the mansion being burned down. The background of the King Boo fight shows the mansion when it was burning down. The graveyard is where the people living there were buried, and it’s next to the mansion because they valued it so much that they never wanted to leave, not even when they were dead. It’s also why the mansion isn’t real, it’s been burned, and the version we see in-game was a twisted recreation made by the ghosts.
Damm, I really like how Luigi’s Mansion is too free for interpretation
36:33 That theory is false. Mario and Luigi Paper Jam shows us Paper Mario series is a separate world.
39:02 To me D Rank is canon. The Mario Kart series is a weird canon. So lore info from it is questionable
9:07 I played it a few months ago and while it’s just inferior to the original it is nice that you can play it on a handheld (and i didn’t think the controls were that bad)
One thing about the Super Smash Bros stage, that was talked about in a DYKG episode, which is most likely why it's mentioned here in the iceberg.
By clipping the camera, one tile under the canopy is a Boo tile. It's thought to represent a monster under a child's bed, which, if you're, well, a child, that's something that children get scared by.
I will say there's a big elephant in the room to your timeline theory, super star saga, and partners in time exist

a piss stained Luigi's mansion shirt or a copy of the game?
real hard choice here...
That’s a players guide of luigis mansion, not a copy of the game itself…

I love the innocence. The are super battle droids, also in the movies. /g ❤
Old phones work without power. They don't need batteries unless they are cordless. Landlines have their own power source through the phone line and don't need much energy.
The phone still working through a blackout makes perfect sense. When I was a kid growing up and we still had a house phone hooked into the telephone wires, the electricity for all the lights and utilities could go out due to a storm but you could still use the telephones.
1:19:52 that's just a normal function of that style of flashlight btw
The CreepyPasta about the King Boo and Bowser theory was always the reason why I believed it and excluding the Mario 64 and Paper Mario bits, in Luigi's Mansion, it pretty much makes sense. When talking to Madam Clairvoya, I think about the star, Clairvoya says she sees a "hideous" form of Bowser and of course the final boss battle where King Boo is basically using Bowser's corpse. Discounting the spin-off version the only time we see King Boo (gem crown) Bowser is never seen in the same place, it's only the gemless King Boo.
The get out of here posters used to scare me as a kid
You sound like Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) so hearing you shout “BAAAH!” was pretty funny to me thanks
Awesome video
E.Gadd can track Luigi using the GameBoy Horor. Not only is there a map, but there’s also a tracker built into it. Plus, it has a video feature on it. He can see the room when he calls Luigi.
I love Luigi’s mansion so much. I wish the game got more attention these days but hopefully the dark moon port will make it popular again and people will play the og again too. It deserves the love it gets, the whole series!
