HI there, I saw a vid by Nutrimill that said to use the dough hook when adding chocolate chips or nuts to the cookie dough. Nice video, thanks.

I love my Nutrimill Artiste! Her name is Amber - she makes such beautiful 'amber' loves of your sandwich bread recipe! She's an amazing addition to my kitchen. I was excited to buy her (at a ridiculously low price) from a gal who wasn't using her anymore. She came with the Baker's Pack of accessories and I couldn't have been more excited about that. Thanks for the review.

Main problem I had with this Artiste mixer was the dough hook that it comes with. Oh, it works fine -- but is made of an aluminum alloy, and that really bothers me. (The company doesn't really come out and tell you this, but that is the REASON they tell you not to wash it in the dishwasher -- because then it would start leaving black streaks in your dough.) Nutrimill HAS made a stainless steel dough hook that was made for the Bosch but ALSO fits in the Artiste (but not in the older Bosch machines -- don't ask me which ones, there are too many and it confuses me). Another thing is that the stainless steel dough hook that fits in the Artiste does NOT work with the Bosch stainless steel bowl (as stated by the company).
I finally got the stainless steel dough hook for the Artiste after using it for 3 months and am very glad to have it. It is a little different and was an adjustment for me. I really feel like the BEST way to use the stainless steel dough hook (about $95 as of spring 2024 by the way) is to make the largest amount of bread I feel comfortable with -- which for me is a recipe using 8-10 cups of flour. If I make just half that amount it is just really hard for the dough to come off the sides compared to using the aluminum alloy hook with the plastic extender. (I wish there were a plastic extender to add to the stainless steel extender, but I'm okay with making more dough -- and I can even live with it if I really need to use a smaller amount of dough.)

Glad I found your review! I just got one a few weeks ago. NutriMill was running a pre-labor day sale on the deluxe pack which includes the items from the baker’s bundle and the slicer/shredder attachment. I’ve only used it a few times so far, first to make challah and second to shred potatoes and onions for latkes. The bread came out fabulous. The shredder attachment was so fast and powerful that I had no large pieces of potato or onion, which my Cuisinart always leaves behind or allows through and makes it a pain to pick out.
One advantage of this that you didn’t mention is that with the motor on the bottom (unlike my old KitchenAid) and the design of the work bowl and cover, this mixer is great for petite ladies like myself. It is light enough to move to my kitchen table which puts it at the most comfortable height. My KitchenAid is so heavy that I can only use it where it sits and takes up a lot of room. Then there is the brilliant cover with its sliding door that practically banishes the flying flour that even with the flour shield in place was a constant frustration with the KitchenAid.

I have had one about 3 weeks. A work horse and I enjoy giving my beloved Kitchen Aid a rest. My only complaint is that it doesn’t mix small amts (such as 200 g flour for pizza) or 325g for my typical sourdough bread.
Also It was to come with the ice cream maker but turns out the web site misprinted the ad. Pleasant Hill grains would let me send it back (at my expense) but wouldn’t honor the ad. Did t want to spend the $$ to return it.

It's very good to think outside the box with these non-standard mixers. I make that spinach dip that's on the packages of Knorr veggie soup but Mori-nu's tofu tweak. It's a PITA to do by hand and at one time, I only had a Bosch Compact. I had a 💡 moment and used its dough hook. Made life MUCH easier, as is doing big batches of cookies in the BUP with the dough hook.

This looks like an excellent mixer. And you just can’t beat the price when compared to the Bosch. Like you, I do love the lid and I wish Bosch had a lid like this one. If I didn’t already have a Bosch, I would most definitely buy the Nutri-Mill. I’m definitely a gadget girl, and I do have a sifter for my Bosch (for making cake type treats), but I do want to ask why you wouldn’t recommend a sifter?

Hi! I am REALLY hoping you see this and will answer this question. I am trying to find out if the oat flaker you use for your Bosch ( I just watched that video for yours) will work with this Nutrimill mixer? I’ve read something that makes me think it will work with the NM but would love to know for sure so I’m not wasting time and $ on my fixed income.
I have this NM and love it because it’s just my husband and I. I have a hand crank flaker but it’s hard to use. I’d love to be able to have a motorized flaker.
    Thank you!

After having a Bosh Mixer for many years I decided to scale down so I purchased this mixer a year ago. I really dislike this mixer. The scrapers are difficult to put on and without them I must keep manually scraping down the sides of the bowl. As stated in your video the drive shaft pushes the cookie paddles out which is extremely annoying and messy. I was told by NutriMill they were having problem with this and was sent a new part. Unfortunately, it looks just like the old part, still having the plastic insert. The Bosh attachment does not have the plastic insert. It's all metal. I seldom use this mixer. BTW, the dough hooks work just fine.

  • @karenpage9383

So this begs the question... which do you like better? Annie or Betsy? I will be asking for a new mixer for Christmas and am overwhelmed trying to decide. A friend recently got the Anskaram (sp?) but she hasn't used it much yet. For me, price is not a factor because I would use it enough to rationalize any price. I want durability and easy of use (and I'm not sure I love all the plastic of this model). Oh, another question... while most of the time I would want to make multiple loaves at once, I would like a mixer that won't struggle with a single loaf. I can't remember which mixer it was, but I saw a review once that one of them was not designed for small quantities and would have issues mixer as a result. I already feel foolish for getting a KitchenAid mixer... I don't want to make another costly mistake! (Although if none of the bigger open top mixers can handle 1 loaf, at least I'd still have the stupid KA.) Maybe you should do a gift guide video (or series) before Black Friday comparing mixer brands, grain mill brands, and accessories. There are so many great products available, but knowing the features and limitations of each would be great. What is a con for some may be a pro for someone else.

@@GrainsandGrit Hey Felicia! Did you still plan on doing a comparison video? Hubby has been asking me if I settled on which grain mill to get. I think he's been seeing the early Black Friday sales and hopes I won't be undecided still by Thanksgiving. And at this point I'm still unsure which is the best fit for me and I can't find clear info comparing them, specifically how much/little each can handle and still mix well. I remember someone saying one was really best for making dough in volume and that it didn't perform well if you were making a single loaf. I really want the flexibility to make a single loaf on occasion even if I mostly make 3-6 loaves at a time. And if you aren't doing a video, do you have any advice?
