This comparison was perfect timing for me because I was looking at these two mills, and it helped me decide which mill is right for me. Thanks much for making this video.
Hi Mary. I have the Wonder Mill for more than 26 years and I still love it! No problem at all with it through all this years. Easy to storage in one of my cabinets when I not using it. That save me counter space. And like you, I cover the openings with a piece of paper towel or clean rag...just in case🤭...In my experience the cons are minimals and not a big deal. See you in the next one!
I have the manual WonderMill Junior Deluxe. I bought this one because if the power ever goes out for an extended time, I can still grind and bake. I may get an electric one, or I just may setup a motor in the basement and buy the pully attachment for the manual one, so it can be ran off of a motor. I like grinding grains .. I haven't bought store bread in over two years now ....
I have had the Wondermill. To help that jerking motion when it's turned on I put a rubberized mat under it. That really helped. I switched to the Mock Mill & gave this mill to my daughter-in-law. I still really liked it but just like the newest one better.
Thanks Mary, I’ve definitely been on the fence about those two grain mills. I’ve wondered about the noise though and if I’ll get enough use out of one. I am retired and that’s quite a lot of $ but a I do make at least one bread a week for my husband and myself.
I am single. Everything I bake since I got a grain mill is the best, freshest, most nutritious bread/dessert/pasta/breakfast cereal on the planet. And less expensive, too!
You might well do more once you try pancakes, muffins, biscuits, cornbread, even cakes and pies. I like to sift the flour for these, tho, and add the sifted particles to hot breakfast cereal.
I have both--I bought a WonderMill many years ago and I love it. I recently bought a NutriMill on a big sale. They are both great mills. You can't go wrong with either one.
I bought the Wonder Mill a few months back along with the converter to mill smaller grains. After looking at several brands, it came down to price, and this won. Mine did hop but I've learned to hold it when I start adding the grains. As far as the open ends, yes I don't care for that either, and thank you for showing me that I can stack them. I'm going to see if I can find rubber plugs at the hardware so I can seal them, will let you know if I do. Great to see you smiling and enthusiastic again. Stay positive.... Edit, side note: try using a sink drying mat from Dollar Tree or a shelf rubber mat, those grip everything. Good luck.
I’ve had the wonder mill for about one month and I LOVE it. My kitchen is small and it still fits in nicely. I like your practice of covering the hole with paper towel…I really hadn’t even thought about it being an issue but I think keeping them covered is probably a good idea.. Thank you for the great comparison.
I think it’s wise to have a backup of some of our smaller kitchen appliances. I have two mixers and two crockpots….my must haves😃and many wooden spoons and spatulas LOL!!
Great video! I bought the Nutrimill quite some time ago and have only used it once. Your overview of both machines was great. The only thing I question is how to set it. I would be mainly using it for bread and all purpose flour. I'm just learning the wheat berries. I have hard white, hard red and soft white. I'm sure it will become 2nd nature if I just get started and quit feeling so intimidated. I don't make sourdough. I use yeast for breads.
I love my Wondermill, but, like you, I always make sure to COVER the opening where the tube goes in with masking tape (2 pieces in a cross-like format) as well as the opening at end of the tube itself. I put masking tape over that, too. I would not trust that bugs would not come around if I didn't do that. I wouldn't call the Wondermill tiny by any means, but the fact that it is much narrower than the Nutrimill is a big deal to me. (I actually have to keep mine in my bedroom on a desk so that I can grind in the mornings when my housemate is asleep. As long as her bedroom door is closed and my bedroom door is closed I can get away with grinding flour any time. It has never woken her up. (It helps that her bedroom door is also a good 50-60 feet away from mine. If were just both on opposite sides of a hall, all bets would be off! That girl has super-sensitive hearing!)
I painted a yellow stripe over the “yes” indicator on the Nutrimill with fingernail polish. My vision isn’t as sharp as it used to be. Also, at first I gave in to the temptation to postpone cleaning my mill. I got some bugs in there. Fortunately they were only ants! I clean up right away now.
I purchased a Nutrimill Classic recently and I can’t seem to get it to grind grains to a fine consistency. Can someone educate me and tell me what setting is the best to make bread flour; basically, where should the control and the feed knob be at? I would appreciate it!
Your video was just the info I needed. I have the Wonder mill and was debating on buying the Nutrimill to replace it. I thought it would be smaller. I have to be gluten free and the GF flour is too expensive for this girl. I’ll stick with what I have. Thank you so much.
Hey Mary. I have a Mock Mill but i recently bought a Nutrimill to grind more wheat berries. Quick question, what do you do with the flour that goes into the cup? I’ve just been dumping in with the rest of my flour.
Can't find the link for the wondermill?? Really want to use YOUR link but my blender just died and I need to place an order ASAP. HOPE YOU SEE THIS COMMENT!!❤
I WISH YOU COULD DO VIDEO'S EVERYDAY!!! I LEARN FROM YOU SO MUCH!!!

Mary, thank you for the comparison of the 2 grain mills. I have been interested in buying one and this was very informative!

@@PamelaGibson-tl4rj Agreed 100%. I do same, even tho we're single we have to eat! Might as well as eat healthy!

Love the classic 😊
I have the Wonder mill love it
That helped a lot. Thank you!

Try Rubber Wine Corks, or even regular wine corks might work!
Thank you Mary.

The biggest pro for the Wonder Mill is that you can grind corn, seeds and nuts, that you can’t do in the Nutrimill.
Thanks
Great video Mary❤
Good review

me too. I can't wait to start milling my own flours! I only ground rice to clean out machine, and its fabulous!
Great comparison:)
Love your content

How much flour can you mill at one time?
Great video! May I ask what is the silver item on the far side of your counter. I have seen the same item in other videos.
Thank you! It's a water filter.
Hi Mary, I have the Wondermill that I named Miss Bessie.
Mary do you ever sift your flour to make it less whole wheat? And if so, what do you use. Thanks
I purchased a Nutrimill Classic recently and I can’t seem to get it to grind grains to a fine consistency. Can someone educate me and tell me what setting is the best to make bread flour; basically, where should the control and the feed knob be at? I would appreciate it!
I have my top knob all the way to the left and the bottom at 11 oclock to get the perfect flour for bread.
@ Thank you! I will try that ❤️

If I remembered I put it in with the milled flour. If not and it's been in there for days I compost it.

Here's my link for the wondermill: amzn.to/4dJFaOV. Thanks so much. I sure appreciate it!
Thanks for getting another mill to explain the differences to us. You are very thoughtful ❤
