- Today in the Spanish Republic, the Falangist Path has just received a huge new buff to it's focus tree. So it's time to have another look at this tree to see if Paradox's changes are enough to change opinions on this sometimes overlooked tree.
From the Nationalist's prep to a constant state of invasions and conquests, the Republic will be transformed into a brand new Empire. One that aims to last a thousand years, but are these buffs enough? Or are they just a little bonus on top of an alright, albeit underwhelming path?

Debatably.
Still, a La Resistance path got buffed. Which is something different, would this have been the one I'd have changed first? Probably not, but here we are with it changed now. That's Paradox for ya.

With a nation like Argentina able to get cores on South America and Spain, it was extremely weird that Spain didn't have a path to get cores on South America. Argentina was better at Spain than actual Spain. I'm glad they addressed that.

This was a common theme of the DLC. Chile is a better France than France. Argentina is a better Spain than Spain (and also a better Germany than Germany). Brazil is a better Portugal than Portugal

At least i debuff them hard in my mod, and going independent would be ultra hard if Indies is not able to get any ally to industrialize.
I like to imagine that Manuel Azaña just took Primo de Rivera at gunpoint to a civilian passenger plane and was like "You're coming with me into exile in France" and there was a whole international negotiation between Mola and Azaña to get Primo de Rivera back in exchange for the rest of the Republican government also going into exile in France
"The Will of Empire" leader trait should've added a "subjects_autonomy_gain" modifier, like -0.15 or -0.2 considering the numerous amount of Hispanic countries there.
would be cool if the carlists got a focus like this too, or had one that allowed them to puppet the smaller latin american countries

Spanish Empire, lacks an Emperor
What is the point of the focus if it doesn't have the achievement? If you ate up that many countries it is already a world conquest so this focus won't make you progress the game at all. It is like Imperial Federation with UK. If you won't "cheat" it to speedrun and get cores fast you will finish it by the time the game is essentially over
The Imperial Federation can easily be formed by 1941 though. And at that point in the game you are super powerfull and can have an epic fight with Germany for the rest of the game.
The final focus should probably be more generous and allow you to take it if all countries are either annexed or integrated puppets, so that it's still late game but not end game and that it could be useful if you need to fight some supercharged faction.
I tried to play Republican Spain recently and it seems you no longer get enough PP to keep doing the concessions to the left and I run out of time, i dont use the MIOs and dont contest garrisons yet i gain PP at a ridiculously small rate, can anyone tell me how do you play Republican Spain with the new DLCs that overburden your PP gain? thank you

being an end-game focus doesn't really stop it from being stupid, really what's the point? at least with the byzantine path of greece, you annex, integrate and then the cycle repeats until you integrate the entire empire
it would have been just better if they given you a formable with multiple decisions for each hispanic colony, and given "reassert american dominance" a bonus that allows you to justify against american countries faster rather than to gather them up all together so your manpower goes to absolute zero

What are you going on about? I used the focus wargoals. I even declared on the US directly instead of the normal strat of justifying on the Philippines.

Nationalist. A historical game is often best. You have an idea of what should/would happen and play accordingly
