Love the reviews as always. Why I have your channel on notifications! No stupid unboxing crap, actual reviews from someone who knows rc. The new version is nice except being portals, just my opinion obviously. Of course wont snap axle shafts like the straight axle. Probably should have just gone with this one with the grey body instead of the crap axle shafts since they only made adapters to turn the portals into straight.
Just a quick reminder. Fog lights are mounted low, below the fog. Great review. Good that this car cant go to any obstacle. That's realism. I love how its struggle
I keep eyeing the $300 version for trailing. Maybe once the weather turns back to spring I'll have a look for a nice DJI Neo companion for outings. They sure look nice and seem to perform well for what they are. :D
@ since June 15 of this year I bought 113 total new RC‘s. I got into the hobby a little late at 50 years old. I had back-to-back health scares last spring so I went into another hobby hard-core. Mind you not my only hobby. I kind of go this crazy on all my hobbies. I collect video games, I also like the limited edition sets. I’ve been a DJ for 35 years. I have six sets of DJ equipment from turntables to controller. I have six portable turntables as I like the portable side of scratch DJing as well. I was into collecting old freestyle bikes but I got rid of most of those items (Nos Harp,Hutch etc complete bikes and parts). Also into hooking up my My Durango Hellcat I bought for my 50th birthday in 2023, I am behind in that project though. Sorry gave you a rant of my whole life lol
I'm really annoyed they don't offer the pro in grey. FMS already has it so why not sell it with the other color option 😮💨. I will end up getting the blue, but will wait until Monday to call and ask if it will eventually be available in grey.
Francis I’d love to see you try the new jconcepts boss man tires on the 21 bronco. 4.75, Exocaged RC shows they’re great on rock, and the tread should be amazing for loose terrain as well. Could be a new best all around tire
The motor mount has some option holes but the other pinions don't fit with the brushed motor since it has a lip around the shaft. The brushless looks more flexible with pinion options
I have an fcx10 k10 and was waiting to get another one, just different bodies. I didn't get the lc80 because I wanted the full features. So I'll probably end up getting this one when it goes on sale.
I really liked the FMS Blazer. I just dive crawl and already have a SCX6 and TRX6 i don't play with. I never could make myself pay $400 for a truck i just wanted because it looked cool and had lots of cool features. Then it went on sale and had a $50 Amazon coupon. O ended up getting it for less than $300. For that price i think it was s great deal even if i never put a battery in it and get it dirty. The worst part was having to pick between that gorgeous orange or Fall guy brown colors. The orange won out by a hair. I do really like the gray body on this but I'd rather have portals and the other features of the pro. Hopefully they'll eventually offer both colors on the pro platform.
Do you think I could switch portals to straight axles easily? I want a more scale build and the pro looks great, esp for the switchable awd/rwd/fwd and diff locks
They should include the Toyota livery with the blue version to give us an option to have it on or not. So far Iv seen 3 color option the Gray, blue, and one called Cardinal Red. I really like the shock oil you put in the Gray version.
The Traxxas is more robust and refined. Traxxas only has a 4-channel radio while this has 10 and 8 channels are used. The FMS has lights, 4wd/rwd/fwd options.
i don't think i'll ever understand why 2speed trans on a brushless considering how well they do with crawl speed modulation and still provide top end speed at about just faster than walking. i don't hear people talking about running these rigs at full speed around a dirt field
I have a TRX4 with a two speed transmission and I love it. Sometimes when hiking with the truck low speed is not fast enough and it’s loud due to the high RPMs. Also on occasion I find myself in situations where I need the wheel speed… I also find the higher gear to be useful for the kids that want “speed” but I am not ready to hand over a Maxx to them.
@FracturedNinja só how do u not get wheel speed off brushless and not get low down modulation? An 1800kv on a trx is great for both. I understand on a brushed but brushless when geared correctly can be crazy high with amazing crawl
@@AnySumptionBanter as I said more speed and less noise… In my case I am using an AXE 550 3300KV the higher KV offers far less torque than your mentioned 1800KV this can be mitigated with a two speed transmission without having to sacrifice top end. Also sometimes being able to discreetly navigate some local hiking trails is needed… Running around in low gear at high RPM is a good bit noisier than using high gear at a much lower RPM. Is it necessary, well that depends on how you’re using the truck.
@@AnySumptionBanter something else to consider while low speed modulation is really good with the AXE system using high range even at low speeds it uses more amps, which means more heat, less battery life, and more wear/stress on the motor.
Good run through! FMS obviously have a (few..) TRX’s to look at.. copying using way to thick shock oil is obviously not good. Neither for fast runs or crawling where the suspension is way to slow to react. RGT are much more impressive in the way their tune their shock oil and spring rate - really nice right out of the box. FCX18 is just the same, uselessly thick oil.
Im really confused about this one....they got so close to nailing it and then fumbled some really major bits. Kinda feels like they never real world tested it. And the blinking brake lights? Come on ffs!
How much is the RGT? Btw, fms LC80 looks fantastic and scale, rgt EX86170 pro is not scale, it is for performance, so different types of users. I own an RGT intruder and has been amazing, think it compares to this FMS rig.
You think there the only company to do this ...😂..axial have done it lots of times so have traxxas so have vanquish..the list go's on. I collect RC'S so every variation is a bonus for me .👍
Great review, they should offer the gray body on the pro,in my opinion better looking body
Gray with decals is so much better!!!!!

Appreciate your comment and insight my good man.
Great review as always!

Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the honest review. Looking forward to what you'll do to it.
You and me both! Gotta know if thing can be fixed. The stock brushed motor last year, it was not possible to change the pinion to a larger one.
I keep eyeing the $300 version for trailing. Maybe once the weather turns back to spring I'll have a look for a nice DJI Neo companion for outings. They sure look nice and seem to perform well for what they are. :D
The $300 version is the one. Sold out right now but should be back in stock hopefully.
Just got mine today put up a short. My 4th FMS in 2 weeks and 10th one since June 14 2024. So far so good
That’s awesome! What’s the other 3?
@ the new Ridge racer,Fsx K10 18 and the Fcx 18 Land Cruiser. I have shorts up of all my cars, including the one I just got today.

Very cool love everything Toyota rc
This LC80 is so iconic!!!!
I passed on the gray one, but I love this one, blue is my color. So it’s on the way to my house now.
There you go
Great analysis! I like the regular version's paint job too. Also, they should have made the headlights less yellow.
The gray livery is so much better!!!
Great review, thanks 👍🏻
I wanted to provide some insight at least, and not just rehash marketing copy.
I'm really annoyed they don't offer the pro in grey. FMS already has it so why not sell it with the other color option 😮💨. I will end up getting the blue, but will wait until Monday to call and ask if it will eventually be available in grey.
Just buy a body and paint it yourself instead of complaining. Ffs every rc brand has different colors for different versions.
same, same. I will swap these. :)

Those are on my list to try. The tread pattern is so cool!
It's only FOC if its sensored, otherwise it's probably running in blind communication/sine mode if the ESC is running AM32 firmware
Have any recommended 16-20t pinions? I can only find 10t and 12t specifically for FCX10.
The motor mount has some option holes but the other pinions don't fit with the brushed motor since it has a lip around the shaft. The brushless looks more flexible with pinion options

There you go. Yes, this needs to go on sale! Christmas bills are due!
great review. would the k5 brass upgrades fit on this?
Yes, most definitely.
I really liked the FMS Blazer. I just dive crawl and already have a SCX6 and TRX6 i don't play with. Yeah, these trucks just need to be $100 off and they would make a lot more sales and make hobbyists happy with their brand.
Do you think I could switch portals to straight axles easily? I want a more scale build and the pro looks great, esp for the switchable awd/rwd/fwd and diff locks
I don't think so since shock length changes and gearing changes too.
They should include the Toyota livery with the blue version to give us an option to have it on or not. So far Iv seen 3 color option the Gray, blue, and one called Cardinal Red. I really like the shock oil you put in the Gray version.
Exactly. That's what makes the body pop!
What is the difference to the Traxxas Ford Bronco?
The Traxxas is more robust and refined. Traxxas only has a 4-channel radio while this has 10 and 8 channels are used.
The FMS has lights, 4wd/rwd/fwd options.
Front rims different than rear ?😅
Replaced briefly so I could demo the foams on video.
Your a wild man
Born to be!
Im just interested in the body, lol my k5 been brushless for a while and has the same upgrades on this new model
Hope they make it happen. Body mounts will be different from your K5 but it's solvable.

2-speed brushless is not necessary indeed. Really need unlocking diffs to have fun with speeds close to 20 mph

After I see the speed, my question, fusion 1800 or the pro fusion?
1800 is enough. Many pinion options too
Can you buy just the light kit sepwrate?
No, have not seen that available at all.
I could really use a gallon of that FOC these days, Redbull just ain't cutting it😂🤣
FOC in daily life is not a bad idea. Slow and steady.
Good run through! FMS obviously have a (few..) TRX’s to look at.. copying using way to thick shock oil is obviously not good. Correct. They are getting good at manufacturing. It doesn't look likrle they're regularly crawling though
@ Haha! You bet!
It seems like they really do testing at RGT though. And a couple more manufacturers of course.
Im really confused about this one....they got so close to nailing it and then fumbled some really major bits. Kinda feels like they never real world tested it. And the blinking brake lights? Come on ffs!
Exactly, exactly. Good on the spec sheet but needs to be buttoned up. The gearing was a bit shocking.
Unimpressed. The new RGT EX86170 Pro was released with rebranded HW Fusion SE 1800kV.
How much is the RGT? Btw, fms LC80 looks fantastic and scale, rgt EX86170 pro is not scale, it is for performance, so different types of users. I own an RGT intruder and has been amazing, think it compares to this FMS rig.
Will take a look at at that. I put a Fusion Pro on my FCX10 Chevy and it crawled sloooow and went over 15 mph
@josecanedo007 How much? Depends on how skilled you are at buying from AliExpress. I have paid 297$.
I’ll take the simplicity of version 1 and add a fusion 1800 and better tires.
Exactly my strategy as well.
Fms did everyone dirty releasing all these variations. Kind of expensive as it's a cut copy paste rig. Nobody else will say this, so I will.
You think there the only company to do this ...😂..axial have done it lots of times so have traxxas so have vanquish..the list go's on. I collect RC'S so every variation is a bonus for me .👍
Yeah, choices and a varying price range is horrible...
Traxxas, Axial, and others have been doing it for years 😂. How many variations of the TRX4 are out there that are all the same under the shell.
Brooooo everyone does!!! 😂😂😂 Is impossible to satisfy you sheeps
@@boduke9428 lol tell me a company that doesn't do that?
Great review. Thank you
Glad it was helpful since that is my main goal.
