Good fun but goes way to long in pattaya until 19th , and night time when you want to go out and eat and your soaked can be frustrating .

If it were 1 day then great, but they drag it out for too long it's annoying. Only done 1 songkran last year, never again.

Something everyone should try at least once though
I remember 7 days of epic water fights in Chiangmai 2001 from the back of a pickup truck equipped with 100s of litres of iced water. Our driver did continual loops down the main strip and the water fights were intense! Good times but ended up with an ear infection.
They really are crazy in Pattaya but I guess it is so hot it is fun

I leave Pattaya and go up country for Songkran the great tradition was never ment to be like this pick up trucks loaded with barrels of water filled with ice and hose pipes, etc.and it goes on far too long and motorcycle accidents are far more

Let’s hope your lady doesn’t get an infection in her eyes with that sewer water ! Goggles are the thing, me i stay home. I got drenched on Soi 7 Wednesday 10th, official day is the 19th !
Blah.. infection in the eyes? Went out and got a bottle of tobrex before it even started problem solved
