I don't have the money to buy a different video editor, or the time to learn how to use it. I know how to use IMOVIE. After I use Insta360 studio 2019, can I use IMOVIE to add the music and complete my video? Thanks again.
I started a 360channel with the insta360 one x but my video quality seems to be lowered after exporting on instastudio > processing it on premiere > and uploaded on youtube. The original footage viewed on insta studio looks much better :( Can you please do a video on bitrate? * ps the no stitch premiere option takes too long to render too. Any knowlegde shared would be much appreciated
Do you need to import both front and back video shots? I’ve been doing just one and I still get the full 360 view. Just learned of this now. Any pros or advantages to importing both?
I don’t understand all the exporting settings. For TH-cam and Facebook what is the best exporting settings? Is 3820 or 1080 better? Also, what bit rate I see you have 18 but others do 60? Also, h264 or h265?

Great video! I ordered the One R from B&H, so it's on back order, but I downloaded your One R clips and have been practicing editing until the camera arrives. Plus I wanted to make sure my PC was up to the task. Your tutorial made the editing and exporting very easy to understand - thanks! One thing I don't understand, though. There are 2 files with each video - front lens and back lens. In the software, I can only import one of the videos at a time, but the entire 360 video is there. Are both videos automatically stitched when I import the one video into the software?

@@Best360 yeah I realized that it was a PAIR file in order for it to work in studio, but I think my pc can't keep up even thou some videos I film in 1080p30. It stutters when I play it. What do u think the problem is?
I’m having stitching issues when exporting on free capture mode and the full 360 video only works on video mode at the top where I can click around the full 360 video to see everything....have you heard of this issue?

What do you mean by you cannot load it to your macbook pro? Are you trying to install Studio For One X on Mac? There is a separate installation file you need to download from Insta360's website for Windows and Mac.
Yes that's what i did. i went and downloaded the studio software for my windows pc with no problem then i went back to the insta360 one x website and chose the same software except for the Mac and nothing downloads

However, I should rather use "Batch export" at the right of the screen, because so I first can overcapture all my clips and then export them. But with Batch export I can't choose 1920x1080 resolution. Is there some solution or workaround?

I have some questions about this software. We bought one of these cameras at work, and it’s my job to figure out how it all works. The camera is easy to operate. But I’m having some trouble with export resolutions in Insta360 Studio. Working on iMac, not in the cellphone app, if that makes a difference. My test footage looks great in Insta360 Studio. But when I export it, it goes totally blocky pixelated and totally zoomed in. The only settings in Insta360 Studio that I’ve found that can be changed as far as exporting goes is only in View mode, where I can set the Bitrate(Mbps) to Original or Superb or whatever. In my tests, no matter what that setting is, the exported video always ends up blocky and pixelated and zoomed in. All I want is to do is export what I see in View Default mode, in the resolution that I see in Insta360 Studio, and with the video view/angle manipulatable by the viewer the same way it is in Insta360 Studio. Is this not possible?
@@Best360 If I understand it correctly, Freecapture export is a fixed angle, yes? So the viewer can’t control what they’re seeing? So I think I need 360 video, where the viewer can mouse the camera angle wherever they want it.
@@HumorlessProductions Yes you are right. It could be that the software version you have is buggy and you need to roll back. Send a screenshot to Insta360 to confirm and see what they say.

When you export you said 1920 resolution is fine for TH-cam and to leave bitrate alone. If I was to change that resolution to 3880 (4k) will it make much difference as I've read that the camera only really exports in 1920 due to the 5.7k being spread around 360 degrees.. Would I need to change bitrate if I increased the output resolution.. I'm an absolute beginner so sorry if this question sounds stupid.
Hi shanil. While exporting from 360 studio software with freecapture, is it possible to increase the resolution value above 1080p? Will it give us a better resolution of the footage? Or 1080 p is the maximum resolution we get with exporting free capture settings?

Thank you for your content. Its super helpful. I just got my camera. I put the the file on my computer through the sd card but when I view the video on the editing program, the sound and video is super choppy. As if its playing a frame at a time. Is that a normal problem? Do I have a setting that needs to be changed?

Hi! When I am in FreeCapture if I want to EXPORT and use the footage in FCP there is no way to export in PRORES. If I want the BEST quality, how should I Do? Changing 18?

What do you mean by the plugin is not showing up? Because the integration is kind of invisible. You just import the INSV files into Premiere Pro and it just works.

I was on the phone with Insta and it ends up my camera was producing corrupted files, that for some reason... 5.7k videos were only producing _00_006 files but NOT _10_006 files... but strangely were still stitched in Studio, but not working with Premiere Pro....It's Working Now Though! I am new to the intsa360 one x, video editing and social media in general. I will have some simple questions if anyone could help. I hope to have some different content that would be of interest but may need some hand holding. Anything or anywhere you can point me will be greatly appreciated. Clearly the Studio software is where most of the magic happens. Is there a series of videos that would provide a ordered tutorial for the newcomer. And an easy one. @@Best360 Thanks. I'll be browsing this channel a lot I'm sure. Any thoughts on the inverting of the video. Here's what I will be doing. I am ice fishing this weekend and have the dive case. I will be putting camera onto selfie stick and and sticking it though a hole directly adjacent to another hole where we will be releasing the fish we catch. The effect I'd like to get is having the hole above me as a viewer then start the remaining editing from that point. So, finding a way to invert the entire video as a starting place seems like a reasonable place to begin. Thoughts? Thanks LLoyd

Could you tell me is it possible to export a 360 video from the ONEX app on my iPad to studio for one x as a means of backing it up as I am currently deleting files from my camera after importing to onex app and am worried that they are not really backed up (even though my pad backs up to the icloud)
Your welcome! The quickest way to back up your One X footage is to use the data transfer cable between the One X and your computer. Then back it up to iCloud. If you export a 360 video from the One X app, you will lose video quality and it takes longer. Hope that helps!
How To Make A Video thanks. The problem is I don’t travel with my computer just my iPad Pro and am attempting to transition away from my MacBook altogether.
@@timfountain I don't own any Apple products so I'm not sure if this is possible... download the insv files to your iPad using the One X app from the camera. Access the insv files from the One X app folder on your iPad. And send it to the cloud. That would be better and easier than exporting 360 videos to the cloud, to retain the quality.
Hi Shanil, my Insta360 One X arrived a couple of days ago. I made the choice to buy it after watching a bunch of your awesome videos so please keep them coming! The problem I currently have is none of my mobile phones are compatible with the app but I do have the Insta360 Studio PC version going which as you know is very limited and all I have to experiment with until my Huawei P20 Pro arrives. Now this may seem like a silly question but in the Insta360 Studio PC version how can I clip the start of the video and the end to my desired duration, remove the audio and export that as a 360 video to be uploaded to youtube? I've tried multiple times and just got normal video. Have I missed something or is that just how limited the Insta360 Studio PC version is? Cheers for your time.

Why wouldn't they add an audio timeline to add some music directly on the insta360 studio? It would make it much easier to match the song to the different keyframes you want to add on the video, this way makes it harder if you have to export first to then edit in Premiere...
Hi, on the mobile app we can set a setting to show the stats recorded when the camera was connected to the iphone (like gps data,. speed).. in the pc insta360 studio we can enable that to show too? where?
Best360 ok, and by camera broke on the fall and I sent the video to be edited by insta team as it was corrupted. It was fixed. Have I any way to upload it to the app mobile not having the camera available? I would like to try to edit on the phone as I may have there the stats..
I get a greenscreen when I render my video keyframed. What is the cause is this? I reinstaled it a couple of times and I got the same results. Great tutorial by the way.
It's going to be a technical issue you may need to contact Insta360 about. I know other people had similar problems so try search the Facebook groups or Google for an answer 👍. I don't know the solution because I never had the problem, sorry!
Great video. Very useful. I've played with Transitions in the software a bit but their effect is too subtle for me to really understand. Could you explain the different transitions a little, perhaps in a future video? Thanks!
If your video is still then you will not see the transition effect. You can only see the transition effect when you pan the video from left to right or right to left using keyframes. Fade-In-Fade-Out will gradually make the video pan. Slip-In-Slip-Out will make the video pan more quickly. Hard to explain but hope this helps! Will try and cover in a future video 🙂
The video turns out different after editing on the Freecapture. I kept on panning and tilting the view so that my face out of the sight of focus and direct where I want the camera to face. But once I export it and upload it on TH-cam, the video isn't 360 and it didn't follow what I edited on the software. How do I get around this? Or isn't it possible? 360 on TH-cam only works when I export the video right away from the software to the laptop without any editing. And only when I export it from the "view" option. Not "free capture". However from the view option no editing can be done. Whatever editing I do on freecapture won't be transferred to "view" option so whatever I export is without the editing. If I export when on free capture, the video won't be a 360 video anymore.
Hi! It is currently impossible to edit videos in a 360 view in Studio For One X. Like you said, you can only export 360 videos in View mode for further editing in a Video Editor. You can only reframe 360 video into a 2D video using Free Capture mode. Hope this helps!

@@FadzliRealtor For your specific requirement, to animate a 360 video, you will need paid software. I am not aware of any free software that can do this. Your best bet is Final Cut Pro. I heard it's really good for 360 now. I am not an Apple user so I'm not sure if it can achieve the effect you are looking for. Check it out and let me know 🙂
ive the one R and every time i try to import the videos from my phone to the studio they just add as photos and not video :( any idea why this is happening please? i also cant zoom in on the app either is this normal?

Very interesting. But as a brand new owner of an Insta360 One I have a problem. When I download Insta360 Studio 2020 and try to install it on my Macintosh I get the following dialog box info: “Insta360_Studio_2020_20201111_173104_signed.pkg” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information." So apparently the Insta360 Studio software I no longer being supported by the developer. Studio 2019 is no longer available, that I can find. Do you have any suggestions?
I saw NO difference between before (6:31) you added the Transitions, and afterwards (6:57). Can you help explain what the Transitions do again, and what should I be watching for? Wonderful tutorial though. Thank you for posting.
Soo the transitions basically change how the camera movement moves from one keyframe to another. One is more smoother, one is more sudden etc 🙂. Hopefully that helps.
Hi.... I was wondering whether you could help me. I use Insta 360 studio on my Mac and in the past it has worked just fine. I usually edit if necessary using iMovie. No problems... except with the more recent updates to 360 studio, the playback is slow and stuttering. Very annoying. The final product after upload is OK, but it takes a lot longer now. The hardware decoders are all ticked on, so I really don't know what the problem is. Could you help me?
I think a quick solution is to backdate to the previous version of Insta360 Studio. Try ticking and unticking those options to see if there is any difference. Keep playing around, closing and opening the software after making those changes.
Hi again! I managed to fix the problem by clicking on the Chromatic Aberration stitching to being ON!!! Very strange actually because you would have thought that it was the other way around. So no more stuttering sound when playing back!

I find only already stiched files. and I need the raw files for testing in the Insta360 Studio Software and findind out IF my PC would handle these video files. I need the followin samples: One recorded at 5.7 K (30 frames per second) another recorded in 4K (at 50 frames per second) and another recorded at 3K (at 100 frames per second)

Hello, I have make .mp4 video from 360 panaroma photo which i have taken from my mobile in Openshot video editing software. But when i import that video it shows two big dark circle on Nadir and zenith points in Free capture tool. How can i remove that Circle. Is there any way to convert 360 photo to video with specific export settings ? Thanks in advance 😊
It seems like your editing software has exported a photo with the black circles. Did you capture this photo with a 360 camera? There shouldn't be black circles if you used a 360 camera
Per the insta360 product page the minimum graphics card requirement is Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060(6GB) and above . I am running insta360 studio 2020 on a 2011 iMac and the video playback is choppy. If you go ahead and render your video and export it the choppy will go away when played with any other video player. I export my clips and then import them into iMovie for editing and it works well. New computer is on my list.

I'm having issues with my insta360 r when I grab the sd card from the camera I get there are two files because it's a 360 video but only one of them plays on the studio n the screen is just black an no video. I have a pc not a mac. Also on my insta one r app I can only edit videos while they are on the camera. Even when I upload them to my phone in sd card or internal memory the app never recognizes I have the videos. Any help would be really appreciate it. Also I have a Samsung s9 so android
@@Best360 i checked it seems that its showing the wrong export percent...the video was alreaxy exported in the camera folder but exporting was stuck at around 25% weird.

Yep! iMovie is perfectly fine to edit multiple clips you export from Insta360 Studio 2019 and add music 🙂👍

As of now you cannot add music on Insta360 Studio. You can only do it on your phone or video editor.

When you export you said 1920 resolution is fine for TH-cam and to leave bitrate alone. If I was to change that resolution to 3880 (4k) will it make much difference as I've read that the camera only really exports in 1920 due to the 5.7k being spread around 360 degrees.. Would I need to change bitrate if I increased the output resolution.. I'm an absolute beginner so sorry if this question sounds stupid.
No worries! It's a totally valid question. For 4k video use 40mbps 😁👍.
Hi shanil. While exporting from 360 studio software with freecapture, is it possible to increase the resolution value above 1080p? Will it give us a better resolution of the footage? Or 1080 p is the maximum resolution we get with exporting free capture settings?
I think you can set what ever resolution you want. You can type 3840 x 2160 for 4k

Thank you for your content. Its super helpful. I just got my camera. I put the the file on my computer through the sd card but when I view the video on the editing program, the sound and video is super choppy. As if its playing a frame at a time. Is that a normal problem? Do I have a setting that needs to be changed?
Yes, because it's such a high resolution file. You need to make proxy files so you have a smooth editing experience 👍

When I am in FreeCapture if I want to EXPORT and use the footage in FCP there is no way to export in PRORES.
If I want the BEST quality, how should I Do?

If you are exporting a 16 by 9 video for use in another project then try using 50mbps. 18mbps is good if you are exporting for social media!

What do you mean by the plugin is not showing up? Because the integration is kind of invisible. You just import the INSV files into Premiere Pro and it just works.

I was on the phone with Insta and it ends up my camera was producing corrupted files, that for some reason... 5.7k videos were only producing _00_006 files but NOT _10_006 files... but strangely were still stitched in Studio, but not working with Premiere Pro....It's Working Now Though!

I am new to the intsa360 one x, video editing and social media in general. I will have some simple questions if anyone could help. I hope to have some different content that would be of interest but may need some hand holding. Anything or anywhere you can point me will be greatly appreciated. Clearly the Studio software is where most of the magic happens. Is there a series of videos that would provide a ordered tutorial for the newcomer. And an easy one. If I needed to simply flip the video orientation (top to bottom) and save the entire file in this orientation, is there a simple method? Thanks for your help.

I will be putting camera onto selfie stick and and sticking it though a hole directly adjacent to another hole where we will be releasing the fish we catch. The effect I'd like to get is having the hole above me as a viewer then start the remaining editing from that point. So, finding a way to invert the entire video as a starting place seems like a reasonable place to begin. Thoughts? Thanks LLoyd

Could you tell me is it possible to export a 360 video from the ONEX app on my iPad to studio for one x as a means of backing it up as I am currently deleting files from my camera after importing to onex app and am worried that they are not really backed up (even though my pad backs up to the icloud)
Your welcome! The quickest way to back up your One X footage is to use the data transfer cable between the One X and your computer. Then back it up to iCloud.
If you export a 360 video from the One X app, you will lose video quality and it takes longer. Hope that helps!
How To Make A Video thanks. The problem is I don’t travel with my computer just my iPad Pro and am attempting to transition away from my MacBook altogether.
@@timfountain I don't own any Apple products so I'm not sure if this is possible... download the insv files to your iPad using the One X app from the camera. Access the insv files from the One X app folder on your iPad. And send it to the cloud. That would be better and easier than exporting 360 videos to the cloud, to retain the quality.

The problem I currently have is none of my mobile phones are compatible with the app but I do have the Insta360 Studio PC version going which as you know is very limited and all I have to experiment with until my Huawei P20 Pro arrives. Now this may seem like a silly question but in the Insta360 Studio PC version how can I clip the start of the video and the end to my desired duration, remove the audio and export that as a 360 video to be uploaded to youtube? I've tried multiple times and just got normal video. Have I missed something or is that just how limited the Insta360 Studio PC version is? Cheers for your time.

Why wouldn't they add an audio timeline to add some music directly on the insta360 studio? It would make it much easier to match the song to the different keyframes you want to add on the video, this way makes it harder if you have to export first to then edit in Premiere...

Hi, on the mobile app we can set a setting to show the stats recorded when the camera was connected to the iphone (like gps data,. speed).. in the pc insta360 studio we can enable that to show too? where?
There is no gps overlay data option on desktop app currently, only mobile app
Best360 ok, and by camera broke on the fall and I sent the video to be edited by insta team as it was corrupted. It was fixed. Have I any way to upload it to the app mobile not having the camera available? I would like to try to edit on the phone as I may have there the stats..
I get a greenscreen when I render my video keyframed. What is the cause is this? I reinstaled it a couple of times and I got the same results. Great tutorial by the way.
It's going to be a technical issue you may need to contact Insta360 about. I know other people had similar problems so try search the Facebook groups or Google for an answer 👍. I don't know the solution because I never had the problem, sorry!

It's the hardware decoding settings or graphics settings. Play around with it turning it off and on till it works
Great video. Very useful. I've played with Transitions in the software a bit but their effect is too subtle for me to really understand. Could you explain the different transitions a little, perhaps in a future video? Thanks!
If your video is still then you will not see the transition effect. You can only see the transition effect when you pan the video from left to right or right to left using keyframes. Fade-In-Fade-Out will gradually make the video pan. Slip-In-Slip-Out will make the video pan more quickly. Hard to explain but hope this helps! Will try and cover in a future video 🙂

The video turns out different after editing on the Freecapture. I kept on panning and tilting the view so that my face out of the sight of focus and direct where I want the camera to face. But once I export it and upload it on TH-cam, the video isn't 360 and it didn't follow what I edited on the software. How do I get around this? Or isn't it possible?
360 on TH-cam only works when I export the video right away from the software to the laptop without any editing. And only when I export it from the "view" option. Not "free capture". However from the view option no editing can be done.
Whatever editing I do on freecapture won't be transferred to "view" option so whatever I export is without the editing. If I export when on free capture, the video won't be a 360 video anymore.
Hi! It is currently impossible to edit videos in a 360 view in Studio For One X. Like you said, you can only export 360 videos in View mode for further editing in a Video Editor. You can only reframe 360 video into a 2D video using Free Capture mode. Hope this helps!

@@FadzliRealtor For your specific requirement, to animate a 360 video, you will need paid software. I am not aware of any free software that can do this. Your best bet is Final Cut Pro. I heard it's really good for 360 now. I am not an Apple user so I'm not sure if it can achieve the effect you are looking for. Check it out and let me know 🙂

Very interesting. But as a brand new owner of an Insta360 One I have a problem. When I download Insta360 Studio 2020 and try to install it on my Macintosh I get the following dialog box info: “Insta360_Studio_2020_20201111_173104_signed.pkg” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information." So apparently the Insta360 Studio software I no longer being supported by the developer. Studio 2019 is no longer available, that I can find. Do you have any suggestions?

Soo the transitions basically change how the camera movement moves from one keyframe to another. One is more smoother, one is more sudden etc 🙂. Hopefully that helps.

Hi.... I was wondering whether you could help me. I use Insta 360 studio on my Mac and in the past it has worked just fine. I usually edit if necessary using iMovie. No problems... except with the more recent updates to 360 studio, the playback is slow and stuttering. Very annoying. The final product after upload is OK, but it takes a lot longer now. The hardware decoders are all ticked on, so I really don't know what the problem is. Could you help me?
I think a quick solution is to backdate to the previous version of Insta360
Studio. Try ticking and unticking those options to see if there is any difference. Keep playing around, closing and opening the software after making those changes.
Hi again! I managed to fix the problem by clicking on the Chromatic Aberration stitching to being ON!!! Very strange actually because you would have thought that it was the other way around. So no more stuttering sound when playing back!

Until the appearance of the new Insta360 Studio 2020, I used a software version compatible with my computer. After updating I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE Insta360 Studio. No the app only deals with insv files. Once you export from studio it is turned into mp4...

I have make .mp4 video from 360 panaroma photo which i have taken from my mobile in Openshot video editing software. But when i import that video it shows two big dark circle on Nadir and zenith points in Free capture tool. How can i remove that Circle. Is there any way to convert 360 photo to video with specific export settings ?

It seems like your editing software has exported a photo with the black circles. Did you capture this photo with a 360 camera? There shouldn't be black circles if you used a 360 camera

Yes it does. When you click the line between the keyframes you will get a few options. Similar to ease in ease out.

When opening and playing back on insta360 studio 2020 ,the image and sound are choppy ... how to fix this ?
Per the insta360 product page the minimum graphics card requirement is Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060(6GB) and above . I am running insta360 studio 2020 on a 2011 iMac and the video playback is choppy. If you go ahead and render your video and export it the choppy will go away when played with any other video player. I export my clips and then import them into iMovie for editing and it works well. New computer is on my list.

I think just keep the camera still on a monopod. The ONE R has a new photo mode which takes superior photos. Unfortunately it's not on the ONE X :(
@@Best360 I have only shot with a tripod :/ but my video quality is good, its only when I am taking pictures that it goes in the trash, I've spoken to the insta360 support team but I doubt they can be of much help

I'm having issues with my insta360 r when I grab the sd card from the camera I get there are two files because it's a 360 video but only one of them plays on the studio n the screen is just black an no video. I have a pc not a mac.
Also on my insta one r app I can only edit videos while they are on the camera. Even when I upload them to my phone in sd card or internal memory the app never recognizes I have the videos.
Any help would be really appreciate it. Also I have a Samsung s9 so android

@@Best360 i checked it seems that its showing the wrong export percent...the video was alreaxy exported in the camera folder but exporting was stuck at around 25% weird.

It's a settings issue. Play with the hardware decoder settings, check and uncheck them until it works.

Plug in your usbc cable from camera to computer. Turn on camera. And your files are in there
@@Best360 that doesnt work with this camera, tried a couple computers.. looks like I have to remove the microSD and plug into a reader.
If you're on the latest firmware then you need to go into settings on the camera and change USB mode to PC, then connect to computer
