IT WORKS I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! I opened mine up and there was a big fat parking ticket from 2017 inside hahaha. Love you man saved so much money I subscribed!
Videos like this are pure gold. My motor had seized with rust at the worst time of year. Followed your clear instructions and it worked a treat. Thank you for saving me a small fortune, especially just after spending £2k under the bonnet. Wish I could repay you. All the best bud.
In a similar situation, my dad was a mechanic and always fixed my car but sadly past away last August. Just spent £4k on an engine rebuild and now just another £1k on brakes, suspension and various other things. Just driven it away from the garage that did the £1k work and the heating/air con won't come on. Going to attempt giving this a go
Great video, amazingly clear and calm. Managed to do the entire job in under 20 mins. Saves me an easy €50 on a mechanic. Most shops would just replace the entire motor annyway.
Think it's worth mentioning that you noted the fan is close to nicking the case. I'm sure that's what's causing the noise. I took mine out today with the help of this video, the fan was marked up where it was being caught by the case pretty badly. Managed to solve it by putting some washers on the pegs before screwing the case on. If the lubricant doesnt solve this issue the washers will. That being said cheers for the video mate wouldn't have sorted it without 👍🏽
Im having so many issues with my blower heater on 320d m sport ive been told by my mechanic that i need to get new one yet he hasnt even looked at it so im now going to try this , thank you for the video
@@aaanton11 i managed to get it out easily found out that the was completely blown and seized so replaced it with great difficulty , now my rear wiper motor has stopped any advice on a quick fix ?
just to say thank you for posting this video my heater just wasn't working at all after following your instructions the blower just wouldn't come out for some unknown reason. so I left it over night then had another go it then came straight out did exactly as you shown to do put it back together but plugged it back in on the passenger floor just to check it worked before going to the trouble of putting it back to find it still wasn't working switched it on and away it went thanks !!!
Thanks for the video, helped me change my blower motor. However, I don't think there was a screw missing, mine didn't have one and to the best of my knowledge the motor has never been removed. Also, as the motor is rotated to free it there is a plastic locating clip that needs to be pulled slightly down to allow rotation. Hope that helps others. Great, informative video though.
Thank you posting this video. It worked for me - only thing i would say guys wipe down all excess lube spray lol as you’ll smell it through your vents. Honestly I’m very pleased a good £150 saved if I took it to the garage. The black pipe at the bottom came off and I couldn’t put it back on?
Tips: There’s an air vent for the passenger footwell vents? There’s a metal clip holding that. You can pull that off gives you 40% more space. Pretty impossible to do without doing that. When putting back on put it in from the aforementioned vent side first then it’ll wiggle back in. When take it out use a brush (old toothbrush maybe) and hoover to remove the soot/dust before you apply lubricant. Before installing it wire it back and start the car and put the speed on number one and apply lubrication tiny amount whilst it’s on.
In my opinion gear grease or wheel bearing grease would have the best longevity, but on the fan side it will almost be impossible to bring it inside the bearing. Do you think it'll be possible to remove the fan? Is there a nut of some kind?
So in awe of your mechanical skills!! Would I find the blower unit on the left side of a left hand drive car (USA)? If so, does the steering column make this approach impossible?
Took it in to BMW to get this done and now my fan won’t turn on has brand new fan ,radiator, reservoir , both sensors , fuses are good too. You think they might have messed something up ?
Wooow.. so much easier than a mercedes G class.. had to remove most of the interior to get to the blower fan.. I'll give my new bmw a try, I got a small noice from the fan..
There is actually no need to remove the whole cover on the back. There's a small cap located and upon removal you can lubricate the back bearing easily.
After I replaced this completely I was notified of a small coolant on the system checked and no coolant on the tank in advance I had changed the thermostat but why did I lose all the coolant after I changed the fan? any connection? can not see signs of leaks BMW 1 series 118i E87 but the car runs well. And that plasctic cover on 11:49 most be on? I cant get it on;( again
@@aaanton11 Yes true true, but after thermostat change nothing more antifreeze happened so maybe not ventilated properly? If you do not ventilate then not all coolant? is it possible? plzz reply. I mean if the mechanic not take out air after termostat change it can drain ALL of the collant? its only logic here some people say that. SO? Could it be the radiator cap? because I do not hear a click when I lure it it should hear clip sound when you lure it.
there is a specific way to bleed these systems, there is a plastic screw on top of the radiator which needs undoing then fill the coolant bottle til fluid comes out of the screw, squeeze the top hose and refit the screw and bingo. Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Does this power the heater control unit too? I've replaced all my fuses and got a new control unit but the control still dont light up? Wondering if this is what I need to change? I'm getting a small amount of smoke out the heaters

I did this and found what I assume is the antenna dongle inside it, no wonder it was vibrating o much! Anyway the noise wasn’t the only issue, as I have no air coming from dash vents at all (rear work fine) I changed cabin filter under bonnet, still no joy.. so I’m stumped… any ideas please? I’ve asked on forums and watched loads of videos on here but no joy
@@aaanton11 sorry for long reply, didn’t get notification.. yes blower works fine just slight whisp of air from vent themselves, even on full power 🤷♂️
