But when ever its economy bounces back.. it will be back to business.

Muzammil is a brilliant analyst . He has rightly analysed Pakistan’s problem .
According to me the problem of Pakistan is the strength and structure of its army --which is disproportionate to its security needs .
This was beautifully brought out by Hussain Haqqani -- ex Pak Ambassador to USA. He draws the inference from sharing of assets during partition . According to him for 17% territory share , for 19 % population share , the allotment of 33% Army was much beyond its needs . To justify its existence , Generals created an imaginary enemy by harping about Kashmir -- despite STAND STILL AGREEMENT with Maharaja Hari Singh of J&K in 1947.
This huge army gets a huge budget for its existence from Import- driven economy.
Democracy cannot flourish in Pakistan -- it runs at the beck and call of its army .-- 76 years and NO PM has completed the term. If democracy has to grow and civil supremacy has to gain strength , then army needs to be cut to size . This is the only way-- otherwise Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharief , ZA Bhutto and such puppets will come and go -- Pakistan will be only serving the needs of its army .

If Pakistani people had any common sense then they should have put Army in place after secession of Bangladesh in 1971. But they did exactly the opposite and put more faith in the army, this will lead to civil war and possible disintegration of Pakistan in the coming years.
But hats off to these guests for boldly speaking the truth and ground reality!

Syed Muzzamil Shah is an absolute RUBY of an intellectual. He is fearless, objective and so efficiently analytical. He is able to so calmly examine problems without being sentimental and emotional. Pakistan stands to gain immensely if she heeds Syed Shah’s sane counsel.

America was not that much interested to fight with USSR in Afghanistan. That was Pakistan who was looking USSR's future opportunity to reach hot waters through Balochistan. Later they succeeded to convince Americans the Russian strategy .
