+Deryck Shakespeare Your a lucky man Deryck, beautiful car.I have nearly bought a 911 a number of times, and always just out of reach...now i have no chance! but they are fab to drive,,,,,have a look at my icedriving vids in one! or the RUF ctr at the nurburghring..that WAS an experience..

Dream car of mine for a long time, Porsche name has always been stuck in my head, the old school body design, turbo, manual transmission! It’s just perfect all around. I’ll take this over a Ferrari and Lamborghini anyday!!!!
@@dshakespeare2715 This has to be one of my favorite videos from Petrolicious as well as one of my favorite car videos, period. I hope you and Elvis are enjoying the car to its fullest. Long live your uncle’s memory.

My Dad had a 930, Guards Red bought in 1995 and sold in 2011 in Perth, ex Singapore, ex UK. The first time I got to drive it alone was something that will stay with me forever. I had driven hard on track in a G50 964, had a nice MX-5 for the rest but the 930 was just something else that will never, ever, ever be replicated.
That 'moment' we first turn the key ... and hear our Porsche come to life for the first time ... A memory etched; forever in our mind. A wonderful ; truly relatable clip. Thanks for sharing....
I have a 1972, nicely restored and maintained. 930 turbo fender flare look (all steel metal) equipped with a 3.2. I keep it without a turbo because with the light body it really pulls on high rpm and you can feel every second of it breathing. The point is, with these classic Porsche. It’s not just a car, it becomes a part of you.
+Gasinduced reminds me of when I was young, cleaning the m5 with my dad was the highlight of my weekend. nothing brings fathers and sons closer than a shared love of cars.
+sjpro1 That's such a nice thing to hold on to. My grandad loves cars and I have some really nice moments to reflect on. Unfortunately my Dad doesn't share the same passion...or my son.
Cars are definitely something that everyone CAN get into but probably not everyone will. I’m not sure if that’s the proper way to say it but hopefully the message comes across. Maybe your son has come around to it? 🤷♂️
Cinematography in your videos is top notch but what really makes me fall in love with these videos are the stories and connections these people have with the vehicles! Thanks for another flawless episode
by far not only the most beautiful porsche of all times but the most beautiful sports car ever. a true classic way more beautiful and exotic than modern porsches
I remember as a child (way back), I had an old Hot Wheels toy car. One day, I picked it up and stared at it, as it was my favorite one. I loved the shape of it, and I flipped it upside down to see what it was and it read in tiny letters "Porsche 911". Ever since that day I dreamed of owning one. Many years later I fulfilled that dream, and even now, I sometimes sit in the garage and stare at that beautiful piece of machinery in awe. My son has the same Porsche fever and he absolutely can't wait to drive it one day!
930 is the most beautiful car ever made. The feeling with the turbo lag is fantastic. Never ever sell it!! I ovned a 997 for a couple of years ago. I really really miss it.
Australia is such a beautiful country. Good thing it’s so vast the urban destruction cannot ruin it for a long time. Good on you Oz , said as a South African.
I owned its almost twin brother in the early 1980s...it was also a 4 speed gearbox...also Grand Prix White....Fuchs wheels with white centres...Maroon leather...I adored that car ... @GrahamHengland
+Nigel Wong They covered an Aussie RX2 or 3 a short time ago too + there was the Alpine. Hopefully there's an Aussie correspondent so we can get more local content, so many good stories all over the world.
Great video....like always... maybe missed the mark on the Title... video has a great laid back father son vib... not complaining... the son saving $5 for the interior is a new generation of car guy :)
I accidentally clicked an old 964 video while aClassique JDM video was loading, and didnt know. 2 or 3Classique Porsche videos on PL was what got me HOOKED on G Bodies and 964s. I'll never afford either. My only shot would be a used and abused, clapped out, been around the block, street, road, and Avenue a few times, with zero service history,G-body. I know,i know, mine today for only 30k!
Good father and son bonding time over a porsche. I like the fact that dad is totally ok with son helping washing the porsche like it was just a regular car. Not one of those a-hole dad who would beat his son if he got too close to his car and might scratch it. Thumbs up to this dad!
the cinematography in this video was absolutely brilliant. And that car, my god.. This must be my favorite Petrolicious video so far, although there have been incredible ones before, like the Lotus Esprit video recently.
I always wanted a Porsche 911 turbo 930 because they looked so cool and in my mind I picture the car on the beach with lots of people and it will look so cool.
im not gonna lie if my kid brought me his five dollar allowance and said hey daddy i wanna help fix your car id probably start crying. thats just precious
Some good footage around Dee Why (Northern Sydney) and a really good story about the bond that a car can have in the family and be passed down to the next generation.
would be nicer if he teaches his son how to fix the car, that's a true passion and makes a special bond to it, but lots of car enthusiast don't even know how to change a bulb. Lol....
The 78 930 was Porsche's most beautiful street car! Today's Porsche's may be faster but they are no where near as beautiful as this one, and no where near as much character! The next step up is 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, and then the Porsche 917-10!
Awesome story mate. It's great to hear that the value you put on it is not about the $ value, but how much enjoyment it brings to you and your family. My 911 is not as iconic as your Turbo, but its all about the Porsche driving experience that no one understands until they drive one.
You guys really know how to make a video. You could probably do one for a prius and actually make it look cool! Don't get any ideas though...well done!
My biggest regret is not buying this exact same car in excellent condition for $77k Australian, just 2 years ago. Good luck finding one for that price now. The most beautiful car in the world in my eyes.
***** My favorite. To be honest I would drive a 964 with coil overs and a few engine modifications, some interior work, and a beautifully done set of custom aftermarket wheels similar to the original wheels (such as panama sport or fifteen52) any day
The car that everyone wants... Right now!

Pretty ironic isn't it? A car labelled as 'the widowmaker' is keeping the memory of his grandfather alive. The best kind of irony.

I love Porsche episodes of Petrolicious. Particularly, ones with family stories.
Brought my son along when I picked up my little 89’ 3.2. We drove home in the snow and snapped some photos at the first gas stop. Good times.
