Hi all, I've run this truck a fair bit in various locations so I thought I'd put together a review video.
Also a couple of speed tests and an upgrade. I do a little comparison with the Tamiya TT-02 chassis car. If you've got a TT-01 and a TT-02 Tamiya then do you agree with my findings?

Haha yes I don't really get why you'd get an RC kit and leave it as a static model. These need to be driven and preferably quite quickly. It's a great little truck this and the body didn't get too damaged in the roll overs. Many thanks for your great comments 😀

Hi Pete and great to see you got that video edited this weekend! And a great review it is, too. I really enjoy the narrative you put over the visuals, I think it really adds to the production and is edited like a pro! Cool that you covered so much, all the different surfaces, tyres, speed test and the TT02 comparison. I totally concur with your findings, and of course, thanks so much for the mention and link, much appreciated my friend. Oh, and who would have thought that a propshaft upgrade would add 10% to the top speed! But with the stock one hitting the chassis, it all makes sense. Nice one, matey, have a smashing Sunday! :O)
Hiya matey. Yeah I like this type of video but they do take an age to edit as you know. I really wish I'd put in that metal prop shaft when I built this because you need to take so much of it apart to change it. It's a real faff compared to the TT-02. Oh yeah your video still comes up top of the search if you search TT-01 vs TT-02. A useful guide you and Rob did. I'm super jealous of all the time you'll have to yourself now but you deserve it and I'll get there eventually. I've always got a load of videos in my head that I want to do but there's never enough time. Also all the builds and mods. So has the concept of the weekend gone out of the window for you now? Hope you had a great one anyway. We went to the Purbecks which are cliffs and hills by the sea and walked a few miles followed by a pint in possibly the best beer garden in Dorset. Very fun nd I enjoyed seeing it run all over the place! I have the Buggyra truck on my wishlist of things to get! It looks like a lot of fun drifting it around on the asphalt but also a good bit of fun on the gold course!!

Hi there. Oh no it's all me on the camera. I find it easier really because I know which way I'm going to steer it next. I do sometimes video cars that are being driven by someone else but I never know where they are going next. Many thanks indeed for your great comments 😁

Great video, my first Tamiya, build it watching tv, TT 1 E on a coffee table, i spared the MAN Cab and body, and put a F150 body from a yard sale, smashed that chassis on gravel , even beat a buddy whit some traxxas thingie

Hi Pete, I hope you’re keeping well. A great review, along with hits and tips for getting the very best from the car. I was hearing that rattle noise, which I sometime hear on my TT-02 Audi. I think the prop shaft is the culprit. I got a Yeah Racing steering upgrade for my TT-02, which has help the steering immensely. I love your speed demon approach, if in doubt, still a brushless system in it 😂🤣😂 great video my friend. Great shout out for Peter Smith and Mark Bryan, awesome fellows! Hiya John. Oh yes that plastic prop shaft is rubbish really especially with the brushless set. I wish I'd put it in from the start as it's a faff to change it on this chassis. I did put a steering upgrade on my TT-02 buggy but that seems to have play in it too. It's ok for what I'm doing though. Many thanks for your support as ever my friend. Best wishes to you and yours 😁

Goes really well and looks cool! And being a car park runner I know only too well about the stones, every time I take out a buggy I collect a small handful, but so annoying when they get in the pinion and spur and strip em 🤬 thanks for your upload 👍🙏🐱
Oh yes the collected debris is a bit of a pain. The pinion and spur are fairly well sealed and were ok on this but some dust had got into the bevel gears at the back. Many thanks indeed for watching and commenting. Much appreciated 😁

Hi there. It just had the ones that came with the kit. Can't remember what those were. When this became my speed run car it had a 25t pinion and 55t spur 👍
Good review Pete. I gave up the "obligatory speed runs". All the meters I bought were faulty and never registered a speed ???
Hiya Derek. Many thanks mate. This speed meter seems to have been reliable despite falling off various cars at speed. Is your problem that your cars are doing under 1mph? 🤔

Hi there. Do you mean the white ones? They were just cheap Chinese ones from eBay. They are a copy of the Tamiya rally block tyres.
It's hard to keep up with the people who've watched my videos but I think you have in the past but I don't know if you saw my super hot shot video with a 4600 in it I have to run it again because my radio battery power was low and I was having troubles controlling it.
I didn't see that particular video but I will look it up later. Oh yeah the radios get a bit erratic when the batteries are low.
You have the 4,600 system like I do. My Castle Creation is in my super hot shot what about this one?

You’ve probably figured it out already, but you’re better off ditching the stock suspension and getting either YeahRacing or TRF suspension - both have different lengths and come with a variety of parts meaning not only can you increase your ride height (eg 55mm compared to 50mm) you can use different types of oil and parts that go inside the suspension to aid with compression and damping. The TT01e has a better steering geometry - We have a ‘Tamiya class’ at my local club (out door asphalt) and as far as I know everyone uses the 01e chassis purely for this reason alone.

Can you use the TT02 with the truck shell ?
