- This does use the Arma 3 better convoy mod however it is not required for the ied to work, it just makes the ai drive better xD

i just use Pressure IED's in a convoy and first vehicle goes boom, then hell begins.
Simple plans do have less room for error. Which applies to mission making too. Ill have to take a look at that method. Might consider doing a longer tutorial based on this short but go into more depth and showcase more ideas
@@TacticalWestOfficial there is a “false” way to simulate the pressure plate part of it very reliably by specifically entering a list of units that will satisfy the present condition of the trigger. So for example let’s say you have a convoy with dismounted infantry and only want a vehicle to be able to trigger the IED, you could just give all your vehicular units a name like “a1”, “a2”, “a3” and use the *thisList* command to activate the trigger when any or all of those units enter the trigger. I forget the exact way to write it bc it’s been a while but there’s def info on google. I think you can also just sync units as the trigger owner of the IED trigger and do it that way without any scripts at all. Hope that helps add options for u without over complicating

@YeaaIJusShiddedOnEm alternatively you could just use a condition which checks if a vehicle is in the trigger zone, that way it will always work for any situation, without needing to use endless variable names
Also disable AI’s mine detection, because Arma AIs are capable of seeing landmine and IEDs

Is this mod where those humvees came from? Id like to get those. Also, can one get a mod to replace the whipeout with the older, more realistic A10 skin?
@@joeferris5086 Why Hellos there, I am using the RHS Mods for the Humvees soldiers and basically everything most of the current/2000s Military environment and assets . it does also include a current A10 straight out of Afghanistan. :) hope this helped

I love the eden editor. So many possibilities to set up great scenarios.

I also love how I can set enemies randomly around the map in towns and stuff, then make a base for my team. Then build scenarios with that as the base, so when I'm traveling to objectives I also have to worry about going through towns filled with enemy troops
I spawned 9000 chickens and tried to run them over, and my game moves 1 fps every few minutes
Arma really changed my perception for war games, it’s so realistic to the point that if I play battlefield I will get angry over how fragile your weapon is compared to real life.
This is the single best way to start learning the Arma 3 editor. Uses variables triggers and syncing plus motivates the hell out of you when you make something cool like this happen for the first time. It's exactly how I got started before 3Den was even a thing

I’m relatively new to arma 3 and am still a long ways from being good at the Eden editor and yeah, there’s really not enough tutorials getting into the basic stuff and how to use em.

@@TacticalWestOfficial The way I'm doing it is my friends are playing the republic and I'll be using Mandalorians as an insurgent group. I'm planning on them transporting supplies and once that goes off there will be a group of mandos in a nearby position waiting for them

Eden editor is the best. I learned to fly v44 in a week and was able to train myself to pilot and fire the cannons with accuracy

I feel like Ignis Corps could use a few of these. Especially since they love their high attrition Arma 3 games against various races of monsters.
I also know for a fact... IEDs are a fast way to teach players to space their dang convoys out; because the number of ops people run where they blow up 3 or more vehicles because they tail gate each other is ridiculous.

@@SUP3R2069 Probably not. It is quite a poweful tool and I dont think Xbox could handle it very well with keybinds and code etc.

Can you please do a video on fps. I have pretty good PC and Im running no mods with low settings and as soon as I spawn a few enemys in the editor I go down from 120 FPS to 30 FPS
Sadly I don't have much experience with performance in Arma, it is a very CPU Intensive game, and doesn't really care much about what gpu you have. If by a few enemies you mean like 10-50, there's definitely something wrong, but each enemy ai uses your CPU, and squad leaders use more CPU than squad members as they need to decide things. There a plenty of golden videos out there regarding performance in Arma and how to optimise, definitely suggest giving them a watch.

Not that I know of, you'd need to get into scripting for that.

This way is Very unreal. It's not simulating the enemy spotter and detonation at all. It's working like a game not like a simulator. You can do much better and you can make the enemy AI to set the explosives and wait as spotter.
You certainly could, however showing how to do all that in a 60 second short, not so easy.

It might help if you give a move command upon trigger to opfor so that way you're just not setting off an ied and that's the game. Because that's kinda boring.

Yeah mate. PC only. Anything else would turn into an IED trying to run complex missions with mods.

I did what you said but the vehicles didn't move why?
Make sure that all of the vehicles and their occupants are in seperate groups to other vehicles, also give it a moment, it may take a minute for the ai to start driving, if that fails I have a full tutorial on my channel that goes a little more in depth.

My humvees aren’t moving I did all of the steps what do I do?
Give the AI a moment, they can be kind of slow to do things, also ensure that each humvees crew is it's own group, you don't want to split a large group into multiple vehicles or it can break things quite quickly.
I dont know if its a mod but i dont see convoy in systems at all.

It's in the empty tab. I show where it is in the video. (It's part of the base game, if not then it's part of ace)

for some reason mine does not do damage to vehicles
I am working on another Arma 3 tutorial video, it should do damage to the vehicle, but if it doesn't you can spawn explosions on the vehicle using script, it will be covered in Monday's video.

Why will my convoy not drive?
Maybe they are placed too close or far apart. Also make sure each vehicle is a seperate group.
@@TacticalWestOfficialtried moving them apart and ungrouping them, didn’t work
You do need to give them some time to begin driving, play around with the seperation settings in the module, also ensure that the vehicles are synced to the module from head of the convoy to the tail, also try using a different vehicle, it may be incompatible with the module somehow, a lot of mission making is trial and error. Hope this helps.

Thats fine brother, endless mods to keep you entertained! if you plan on playing king of the hill game mode, I would suggest at the very least: Helicopters (Most of the time you get to the AO in a helicopter dlc Helicopter called the Pawnee) If you like sniping and want to snipe in koth i would also suggest marksmen, Apex is pretty good and has some OP weapons. but if your planning on making milsim missions and not palying mainstream multiplayer. no dlc is fine. I would suggest RHS mods, they add the U.S, RGF (Russian ground forces) etc, they add them based in the current era and not in the future. and are completely free! Hope this helped!
