At first I was like "Whaaa? you've NEVER had a big mac before?" But then I realized that I still haven't had one either. So I'm not sure why that was so surprising to me.
He should have done few sections of the beef patty, there are plastic beads in the meat as a filler. The FDA approved it because it's digestible.I know this first hand. My husband is truck driver. He went to pick a load up, as he was pulling off he got stopped because he didn't put his hazmat sticker magnet on the back of the load, he asked what the hell does mcdonald's need hazmat for, they told him he was hauling barrels of these plastic beads filler for their meat!!!!!!!
This was both fascinating and revolting. I haven’t eaten a Big Mac in over 20 years. I have eaten the fries once or twice but they always leave a nasty film in my mouth. I was hoping to find out what kind of inorganic chemistry is used to cook or preserve them. Thank you for risking your life for science!
I live in Toronto and recently sent a microscope capable of digital recording of specimen to my 8 year old grandson Nicholas and his 11 year old sister Sophia who live in Los Angeles. I am retired and plan to use the excellent video lessons on your website to do some long distance teaching during our Covid lockdown while I am waiting to go see them in person after vaccination which in Canada could take a year - even for 74-year old Asthmatics like me. So much for our underfunded and overloaded public health care system in Canada.
The onion in those burgers comes to the store as dehydrated flakes with powdered flavouring. Then employees mix the packet in a bucket with a couple of litres of water overnight to rehydrate it. I suspect this is why you didn't see any skin and it looks different to real onion.
Came here to say this. I was wondering how much degradation would come from the dehydration process. Will need to check that out vs freezing once I get my microscope 🙂
Hi! I'm curious, why not add the methalene blue to the water drop before the cover slip and then place the cover slip on top so it doesn't risk staining the microscope? Is there a methodological reason to add the drop after placing the cover slip? Also because of your channel I've decided to buy my first microscope. Thanks!
You are right. The reason why I applied it under the microscope is because I wanted to film the methylene blue move across the slide(for better effects), but the danger of this can be seen.

How to check the reliability of the chemical composition of clothing using a microscope? There is a lot of deception on the part of Chinese manufacturers today.
in hamburger "there are probably so many substances in a hamburger".... i am reasonably certain, that there are an infinate number of substances in anything (infinite complexity on all scales large and small). At least, that is a better place to start, considering the history of science, rather than assuming that all that we can see is all that there is (remember flat earth...)

Not many microbes in that so called food of McDonald's. Maybe to much salt, to much fat and to much sugar. Microbes can't live in such a hostile environment. What happens to the kids that eat the fat, sugar and salt of McDonald's every day?
Please don't go this way. Your old videos were very informative, entertaining and interesting, because you worked on real, classic biology. filters, techniques, classical observations like algae, water life, plants, that was great. But your 2 recent vids (this and face mask) i find rather made for views. Please keep up the good work.
I'm about to get some cells to eat after work
Your about to go eat plastic....
Watching and listening to you speak just makes me smile. I love your passion for this!
He has that passion for what he's doing
This is one of the silliest videos made so far. I liked the change in pace. It was good

Hi there, how would Rheinberg illumination have worked on some of the specimens
Pretty cool!
population control meal, yum!!
To be fair, we need a bit of population control lol
Can we see microplastics in water cause I have seen blunt coloured bits not sure is it it or some random things
Microplastics in water can be seen also as colored (synthetic) fibers.

Lesson #1. Prepare your slides off the microscope stage!

Can you look into the covid jabs under the microscope?
If iodine I really corrosive then how is I that my parents used it when I was a kid for cuts and things on our skin?
It's only corrosive to certain materials

I'm not sure the people of Hamburg would approve of being put under the microscope! :-)
Is there any way to determine if there is human meat in those burgers lol.
DNA testing (PCR) would be the method of choice.
