That was a pretty cool video! I'm from Antioch and still live here. But I enjoyed that recap very much. This is the first time I came across this page, but you should do more!
Antioch could have been such a great city, great weather and the waterfront could have been a tourist destination if the city officials would have done things differently in the past.
@KillerChronicles The videos you guys have done are very well done. Must take a ton of research to get the police reports and all that. Never heard about the Pantels shooting, that's pretty close to the Vetrans hall
That was back in the early to mid 90’s days of the Antioch Cruise. People came to Antioch from all over the Bay Area on Friday and Saturday nights to ‘Cruise’, the route went downtown right past Pantell’s Music Box and wrapped all the way back to Mahogany and the parking lot of the Lowes (Kmart back then?) you rode thru earlier in the video. Car Culture and Low Riding was a huge part of our social life back then. Eventually, ‘cruising’ was outlawed in Antioch, complete with “NO CRUISING” signs that stayed up for years before being removed. Antioch High School Class of 1994. *EDIT: Assembly Bill 436 just last year forced Antioch to repeal it’s ordinance making cruising illegal*
The Jaycee Dugard story blew my mind. I had been past that place dozens of times. Thanks for another quality video! A Street looking rough, I went to Holy Rosary for elementary school.
@@shootthechit I didn’t. I believe she was taken captive about the time I was graduating high school and entering the Marines. The viera ave area has always been shady. I lived there from 79-88. Really bad things happened there that can’t be discussed here.
Been living here in Antioch since 2000 and the local government has criminally misused funds that could be used to make the waterfront accessible, reduce crime by cleaning up the corrupt APD and getting cops out on patrol (rarely see any), and improve the overall infrastructure in the area
Just stumbled on your channel and so glad I did. I love this type of content. Riding bikes and learning history it's really good stuff. Lived in Antioch all my life and learned a lot from this video. Keep up the work!
Antioch City Council should be the real target for blame. Look at Pittsburg! How did Pburg turn their city around? It used to be just as bad if not worse than Antioch.
As an East CoCo County resident myself, severe gentrification in the bay area core and using the valley as a dumping ground means it probably would have declined anyway, especially given the areas industrial nagure and how poorly much of the area is planned.

@@shootthechit that’s crazy, he would always wave at me and my brother while we were doing yard work when there was a lawn. Once he stopped and asked if he could grab some oranges from the tree in front that you passed by twice after you turned around. Pretty creepy. Are jaws dropped after we saw the raid then the news wanted to talk to us. We didn’t want to be tangled up in that horrible story
Humphrey came back twice actually. Humphrey was 86' I think. I was a kid. But I swear he came back again years later. And don't be tripped out that I asked if you wanted to ride around in Frisco, or nearly identical age, I don't know anyone who rides his bikes yet, I just was throwing it out there, I'm good people, I won't mention it again though. Grew up here all my life 90's child an alot has changed from 90's threw early 2000's kids would be out side happy playing an parents having conversations with neighbors and now non of this happens anymore how this town has changed
I remember in the 70s Sycamore area was very nice. Only a USA gas station on Somerville and Sycamore. Now Sycamore is a slum area that gives Antioch all its troubles. Recent like most urban suburbs homeless have invaded from all US states since California has best resources.
I saw that coming when they built those 4 plex's. A friend wanted to buy one as an investment. I told him sure if you want to be a slum lord. the city "leadership" should have seen that one coming a mile away. Low income housing like that just becomes a haven for ex convicts an future convicts. If your willing to work you don't need "low income" housing
I live around the corner from sycamore and it’s been popping a lot lately, shootings back to back, I worry because my daughters bus drives thru there to her daycare
I moved from Richmond to Antioch in the early-mid 2000s and it was the worst and most boring, racist sh*thole I'd ever been to. I'm not surprised it's worse now. It wasn't all bad but I couldnt wait to leave there. I respect your pride in your hometown though.
I saw Return of the Jedi at the Stamm. Lit a fat morter on that fire hydrant at that next intersection one year. Hella happy hours at Celias right behind. The YOC! Watch out! >:}
I moved to Antioch in a big nice house hella cheap but every time I go to the gas station or store it’s like 20 black dudes hanging out smoking weed. It’s a weird town cuz you can’t always tell it’s the ghetto lol

@@bigcykoe3790 It's out of control at the moment sadly
@@shootthechit yeah bro, unfortunately... these youngsters nowadays have ways to build choppers like they were made outta legos, so that doesnt help
I lived in the corner house from the garrido house. We saw him everyday passing by in his creepy old van. Never once saw the girl or her daughters
I remember for awhile if you looked at Google street view you could see his van come out of the drive way and follow the Google car up to Viera.. Looks like they purged the older views and you can't see it anymore tho
Talaria Boys Part. 😂
Been enjoying your content since the MX5 drop.
Happy Bday! I’ll be 47 in about two weeks.
It's all good as long as you don't start acting 47
So cool my loved in Oakley ,he just pass way 2 months ago a ,you are right it’s not the same as years ago..
Nice video man
Happy birthday
Chit head .keep up the good work you be you brother
It was good before Seeno donated all those homes to the state & they moved half of Richmond & oakland out here on section 8.
What's the cost of living like in Antioch compared to San Francisco?
much cheaper
Humphrey came back twice actually. Humphrey was 86' I think. I was a kid.
But I swear he came back again years later. And don't be tripped out that I asked if you wanted to ride around in Frisco, or nearly identical age, I don't know anyone who rides his bikes yet, I just was throwing it out there, I'm good people, I won't mention it again though. Although you should obey suggestions from your elders of two weeks. Happy belated bro!
The solution to gang activity in the YOC is writing “No crips allowed” on the front door of your house
Hah, totally forgot about that. Surprised we didn't get shot
Wow remember that tree incident
Leo Fontana most important Antioch resident ever .
Happy birthday! Thanks for the video!
Grew up here all my life 90's child an alot has changed from 90's threw early 2000's kids would be out side happy playing an parents having conversations with neighbors and now non of this happens anymore how this town has changed
Happy Bday and great video! Really enjoyed reliving the range test gunfire
This was a good video. I enjoyed watching it. lol at the ladder on the car to the tree. Nice outfit but DiXxOn fLaNnEls r 4 BiKeRZ
I am a biker
When you hit Antioch on the 4 freeway it turns into the wild west
Nice video and great content
I live around the corner from sycamore and it’s been popping a lot lately, shootings back to back, I worry because my daughters bus drives thru there to her daycare
Yea, thats the scary part. Could end up getting caught in the middle of something just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I moved from Richmond to Antioch in the early-mid 2000s and it was the worst and most boring, racist sh*thole I'd ever been to. I'm not surprised it's worse now. It wasn't all bad but I couldnt wait to leave there. I respect your pride in your hometown though.
Hey, STC.... What's the brand/model of your helmet?
Bell MX-9 amzn.to/3B9tSVU
No complaints with it
Dang I got jumped on L street off of sycamore back in high school. It's crazy all these years and it hasn't gotten better SMH
Shoot the Chit E-Ride Crime Tours and Brunch. Who says no to that? 😂 Brie Larson’s mom approved
Rip woodie
Nice video. Im in the bay w an mx4, good to see the cops aren't giving you trouble over there
I saw Return of the Jedi at the Stamm. Lit a fat morter on that fire hydrant at that next intersection one year. Hella happy hours at Celias right behind. The YOC! Watch out! >:}
We used to hit bottoms up for the drink lol
What tires did you put on the MX5?
Shinko 241's I really like them so far. I have 244s on the E-Ride , but so far I prefer the 241s. Not a huge fan of how they look though..
I moved to Antioch in a big nice house hella cheap but every time I go to the gas station or store it’s like 20 black dudes hanging out smoking weed. It’s a weird town cuz you can’t always tell it’s the ghetto lol
I miss Hals's pool hall....mutiny's and the beer garden
I’m 30 mins down i80. I’m amazed on that machine is it a suron makes me want to get one lol
Its a Talaria Sting MX5. Similar to a Surron but faster with better suspension, brakes, wheels etc. Its a super nice bike , well worth it IMO.
RIP big Wood!!
I used to kick it around 4th&J back in the late 70's
I remember that was the bad hood when I was a kid. They tore it all down in the 90s
@@shootthechit ya, it was the spot if you wanted something
How are the cops with the talaria in youre area.
Since i got my talaria, i been riding it to work everyday saving alot of gas. I love this mx5 so far.
They don't seem to care at all but I try not to ride like a jerk
