Thank you for measuring the cargo area with the 3rd row folded. This was exactly what I was looking for.
YES! I've been hoping someone would measure the distance from the tailgate to the back of the 2nd row. I don't stack things higher than the top of the seats, so I really only care about square feet, not cubic feet. So without that measurement, I have no idea how much space various S/CUV's have. THANK YOU!

Nice colour combo
The Pilot is one of the most practical 3 row SUVs one can get. I’ve had one for 5 years now and it is hard to fault. It is not an XC90 when looking at style… :-) But practically unbreakable. This new version is slightly growing on me, but I think I’ll wait the 2nd year for bug fixes, or maybe just keep my ‘17 Pilot going.
Thomas, Did Honda have an Elite trim of the Pilot there to display? I really want to see what the Brown interior looks like. Thanks.

Great review. I wish they made it with bench seat in 2nd row.
They do in other trims, just not trailsport trim. The center bench seat is removable, and stows in the trunk opening. The trailsport edition uses a full size spare tire, so there isn't room to stow the center bench, hence it only has captain chairs in second row!

2nd row bench seats suck. You have to get out of the car to make your way to the third row. Which isn't very practical.

@@nicotri9722 Doesn't suck if you want to seat three people across in the 2nd row, in fact, it's optimum for families of five, or any group of five people that want a LOT of space for their luggage and stuff.
What do you consider to be poor mileage? Any worse than the Korean twins Palisade and Telluride?

As a Honda lover my suggestion to Honda is “ launch Pilot in India as early as possible against Tata Safari,Innova hy cross,Mahindra XUV 700,Hundai Alcazar with Hybrid version petro n battery above 20 km per litre,18 inches wide tyre……..n last but not list price not more then 25 lacks……I am waiting “ PILOT “ 😊❤
They need to put that shifter back, I drove a friends Pilot the other day and that button thing is so annoying
I agree with you. I purchased a new Trailsport less than a year ago and I Love it. However, the button pushing instead of the shifter is frustrating. Also I like last year's model much better. The 2023 reminds me of the older Nissan Pathfinder.
My God, Honda did a damn good job redesigning the Pilot!! So glad they got rid of that hideous soccer mom egg shaped styling!!!
I have a 2020 Pilot EX-L and I love it. I was thinking of getting a 2023 but I hate that Honda has gotten rid of the fog lights on this model/year. I will probably look at Mazda, Subaru, or a used 2022 Pilot. So disappointing!

Honda Pilot is better and more reliable than Toyota Highlander. I'll change my 2004 Pilot to 2023 Pilot Touring.
I've been driving my 2004 Pilot to reached over 2,000,000 miles and the engine is still good until now 👈👍
Not a fan of half digital and half analog.
I’ve had at least three Honda Pilots. All were turned in with the DVD player never having been used. Now I am a grandmother and the player is used all of the time. This week Honda made us a great trade in offer for the 2023. But it comes without a DVD player or monitor. Instead there are pockets for tablets added to the seat backs. The runners are a cheaper plastic. There is one large sunroof instead of two. The screen stands out above the dashboard. It’s too big for me to drive. Bottom line…. I don’t like it.
Is it just me or someone else noticed that the side back of the looks like kind of kia Niro ev, and interior is just jacked up Honda accord style.

No thanks. Literally, those huge screens are SUPER distracting. Especially when driving at night. And EV's are not all that environmentally friendly as people say they are. Look up lithium mining (the stuff they use for batteries). Super toxic pollution in the process of making EVs and HUGE carbon footprint.
No. It needs an 80 inch screen to compete with the multiplexes.

All those projections of how carbon friendly they are failed to include the enormous cost of manufacturing and installing charging stations and upgrading the transmission and generating infrastructure. Let alone what do apartment and condo dwellers do to charge overnight.
Thats because EVs are not the end goal. Its to get the masses into public transportation making them easy to control while the elite leaders have their luxury EVs.

Why do you say that? The car literally came out and you are already whining about it as if you test drove it or actually owned it, or are even some qualified car expert to know what's reliable and what isn't. Really annoying.
@@Akinnss Ok. I mean, for older models, yes, there appears to be an issue. But do you not notice they changed the 9 gear automatic transmission to a newer 10 gear one in this latest model? Do you think it will make a difference?

@@Akinnsswhat you have the 9 spd? Some hondas have transmission issues not all. My 16 ody has the 6 spd its stout and trouble free. I avoided the newer 18s and 19s in ex-l and lower due to 9 spd issues.
The 10 spd is considered among the best in the industry after recall fix is done.
(First release if battery power is lost at highway speed- rare but possible-reboots in PARK. oops.)
Without sounding like being callous about your real issues like when i bought my 07 ody i did my homework first and avoided well reported issues. Everyone said odys had crap transmissions but they got the ridgeline tranny in 06. Everyone said the VCM models suck and theyre right, unless you muzzle (disable) them early. My 07 needed motor mounts very costly. The 16 got muzzled early so its fine.
Best advice if your pilot has VCM muzzle it now or keep driving till you know what $$$grief$$$ is.
No digital instrument cluster or working dual exhaust. Honda your going back in time not forward!! 👎👎👎
I think the Elite trim is a full digital instrument cluster. The Trailsport has the digital/mechanical cluster which is disappointing.
