    I've seen so many discussions that simply dismiss the fact that it has speakers as if literally no one would conceive of using it because it has lower quality than dedicated speakers. But for those times when I don't want to use headphones, like just watching youtube, then the desk space saved by not having a dedicated speaker on my desk is so much more convenient. I wish more monitors have speakers just for the convenience.

    Great review, man! You’re literally the only one who talked about the pixel sound feature and it was really important to me for a clean desk setup. I’m glad that it’s not a gimmick and actually sounds great! Brightness was also very important with lots of OLEDs having pretty low SDR nits. Throw in the fact that you touched up on MacBook compatibility and I’ll be getting this monitor for sure and you’ve got a new subscriber! Cheers

    This truly looks like a worthwhile endgame monitor and I’m really tempted to pick one up. That said after using the LG 45GR95QE-B as my main gaming monitor for a few weeks, I don’t think I can go back to something smaller as the sense of scale and immersion given by 45inch display is on another level entirely. (Even 34 inch ultrawides feel kind of cramped now)

    My main issue with this monitor is that it does not come with a burn in warranty like some other OLED gaming monitors that came out this year. Its $200 more than the Dell Alienware 32 inch OLED and comes with a 3 year burn in warranty. The main difference is the 1080p 480hz mode which is a nice to have feature, but very niche if I'm solely running the monitor at 4k 240. I don't think the LG monitor has convince me to buy this over the other QD-OLED Gaming monitors from MSI, Alienware, and ASUS where they are cheaper and brighter. Great review of the monitor though. Its amazing how far OLED technology have come on monitors.

    • @MinimalisTech

      yo! I haven't heard back from LG about the cooling yet. From what I've researched online it's actively cooled. Taking a closer look literally right now I'm actually seeing a fan grille on the top of the monitor which sorta confirms it's actively cooled.
      That said, I've of course heard nothing as of yet for the fan that would be inside this thing even pressing my ear against it under max load.

    Great review, been weighing this up against some of the QD-OLEDS and its a tough call (plenty of time to wait as its not arrived in europe) - Must say its actually the built in speakers thats swinging it for me, such a nice quality of life thing for watching the odd anime over lunch instead of always headset outside of gaming, game mode switch is awesome and while QD pops, the depth of black and and cleanness of WOLED is hard to describe compared to actually seeing. Got a WOLED LG TV, that looks great, 0 burn in after a few years and that alone makes me think I'll stick with LG on the monitor too
    Also minimalist style slaps! This is the cleanest look for sure

    First of all, I've been waiting for this product. Thank you so much for reviewing it
    1. Do you think the difference in quality is very big in the 24/27 inch mode? It doesn't look very bad when viewed from the video, but I'm worried that the difference will be big
    2. Is it possible to lower hz at 4k or fhd? or is it fixed
    3. Do you think this monitor is good for normal video editing

    • @MinimalisTech
      @MinimalisTech  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yo!! Happy to review it and thanks for clicking!
      1. Yes! It absolutely is jarring going from 4k to 1080p - that said, you reaaaally do get used to the 1080p after about 5minutes. Typically you'd be using this mode for those competitive titles at 480hz, so it's expected. That said, for some reason the 1080p 480hz mode was less blurry at 32" vs 24/27, I mention this in the video with some examples.
      2. Yes you can lower the refresh rate to whatever you want. My MacBook through the dock for example is set to 60hz at 4k granted that's just a limitation of my thunderbolt dock. Still, 4k at 120hz on ps5 or my other PC with a 2070 I can adjust my refresh rate in windows display settings.
      3. Absolutely! Edited my last two videos on here. It's bright as heck in HDR mode so all my colour grading and editing went better than expected.

However, there is no Displayport 2.1 connector and there's a 99% chance that the upcoming next gen GPU's will all sport one of those. The Gigabyte Aorus 32" 4K 240hz monitor will support this new standard so i'll probably go for that one.

      Unless you specifically need the layout that works like two 24/27" monitors next to each other, UW is a garbage trend that is overhyped by AW and Samsung and looks cool in marketing but makes very little sense in practice. Most games get very weirdly stretched sides on UW, while the vertical scenery which is also an important part of most games gets cut off. 16:9 like the LG just makes more sense for most content, and fits movies and series perfectly, while also offering more vertical space for work and browsing. Go with the LG.

    I have a small question... I want to know how good the 1080p mode can look. Obviously, it already looks better than an actual 1080p display due to the pixel density as well as the integer scaling, but have you also tried super-sampling? Perhaps 1080p can look just as good as 1440p due to this.

    • @PD-ws4td
      @PD-ws4td 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MinimalisTech Yeah, you'll gonna wanna have it at 32 inches due to the integer scaling (it groups 4 pixels together to act as one). I feel you dude. I get it tbh. I watch a lot of tech TH-cam too so it do be like that sometimes.
      They didn’t pay me or anything but they sent it out early and didn’t provide any talking points so everything I spoke about comes from all me. Happy to answer any real questions if you’ve got any.
      Sorry if this review felt disingenuous for any reason. 👊🏽

      Depends! Having used both I prefer the higher refresh rate of the monitor.
      The C3 is larger too if you prefer screen size etc I did a video on the C3 recently.

    I'm really skeptical about the crispness of the text. I tried the latest 32" 4K QD-OLED and the text was just not sharp enough comparing to a 27" 4k IPS. It was slightly blurry which is a blocker for design work. I know this LG uses a different subpixel layout than the QD-OLED panel, so I'm really curious how sharp the text is on this one. If it is sharp enough, then this is the end game!

      I feel you! Bad text would be a deal breaker for me too. i've got my MSI QDOLED coming today i'll be comparing these both real soon

    I wish monitors focused on audio solutions more. With PS5 dropping optical out, it's hard to find a display that works well with console and PC if you want both to run through speakers.

    • @MinimalisTech
      @MinimalisTech  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right? I was bummed the Alienware 4k didn't have an audio jack for speakers either. These speakers on this LG are insane tho. The YT video doesn't do it justice. Perfect for PS5

    • @MinimalisTech

      I actually covered the c3 as a monitor the other day, focusing on console and macbook use. Thing is absolutely sick especially if you want more screen + glossy - th-cam.com/video/gUdiwQt3SkA/w-d-xo.html
      if you have a new GPU with HDMI 2.1 you'll get that full 120hz. It's sick.
