You need to understand facts: the Arab press in 1948 coined the term nakba to describe the FAILURE of the Arab states to destroy Israel. The term was later transposed to mean the 'plight of the Arab Palestinians '. Also, if you read Arabic you can read the 1952 memoirs of the then Syrian president who admits the leaders of the neighbouring states told the Arabs to flee as they would soon return after Israel had been destroyed. They never did. Israel became a state. The Arabs never did. Bad choices and bad leadership.
With respect, I know what happened after 1948 and it was very unfair. Sadly, at that time in history many countries were doing the same. But there were many missed opportunities for a two state solution that would have saved thousands of lives. At some point we need to let go of our resentment of past generations and find a way to move forward. I realize what an emotionally charged issue thus is, but it will never end unless both sides can forgive.

Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not saying that it was in any way justified, I’m just acknowledging that sustained oppression and brutality will inevitably provide the ideal breeding ground for terrorist groups to emerge and take hold. I worry that Gaza, as it is now, will give birth to terrorist groups worse than any that we’ve previously experienced. You see it all the time; the abused becoming the abusers, the persecuted becoming the persecutors in a horrific cycle of violence.
This looks absolutely amazing...the voices in this movie are brave and so very important. I am even more in awe of Dr Mate after this for his continued commitment to speak the truth and cannot wait to watch his healing session for the women.
