- The girls and I had a wonderful time signing books at the Mast General Store in Knoxville TN! Jim had transmission trouble and didn't get to come. We missed him, but we had such a good time meeting everyone who came out! We felt very blessed and honored to meet so many wonderful people!

I just love how not only do the ladies come out for the book signing and meet and greet but also the fellas. They seem so excited to meet y’all. Everyone is so genuine. Sure wish you were coming closer to Little Rock. Congrats on the success of your book and channels.

I've been listening to you for quite some time and shared the first TH-cam episode of you reading "Dorie Woman of the Mountains" with her and she's been a fan of yours ever since. I think the things you share about your family and your life, reminds us of growing up days in the hills of southeastern KY. So glad she got to meet you - happy that your book signing went so well.

We used Sea Bands for our daughter when she was little. Worked wonders. I have no idea how they work, but they do. They're worth trying before resorting to medications like Dramamine. She outgrew it eventually.

Fun day! I know you all had a blast! We kinda had a hard day as our dear sweet neighbor lady passed this morning. Please send up a few prayers for her husband. God sent another neighbor to him today and he said he really enjoyed the time they had talking about God. What a Godsend he was. I am counting the days till Oct! Gardens look amazing! Take care!

Like you were talking about Pap being sea sick; I was a sailor in The Navy and we called getting over it, "getting your sea legs". If we were in port for a long time, it would take a few days at sea to get the sea legs back 🙂. Thanks Y'all for bringing us along.

Yes. Ive never worn out more breaks and tires (speaking of being car sick) as I’ve done on these here back roads!
Took me 30 mi utes to get from out by lake fontana on Greasy branch , into Bryson city near the dump.
Wish I could have made it to Knoxville to meet y'all... but I'm sure enjoying my cookbook! Sending love and prayers for you all 🤗❤️
It is a lot quicker traveling through that part of Appalachia than it was 60 years ago. I remember being in the back seat of a 58 Oldsmobile and it taking all day to get from Upstate South Carolina to Knoxville or Newport we would stop like 2 times to have a picnic with sandwiches we brought. by the mid 80s the same trip is like 3 easy hours. I would see slow trucks in the right lane on I 40 chugging the inclines while I was zooming by in the left lane and think about how traffic on the old two lane roads through the mountains used clog up and then some vehicles would start overheating. I hated traveling when I was a little kid.
So fun to see, your book signing. I did get my cookbook last week. My husband ordered it from Amazon, and gave it to me for Mother’s Day. 🌷Bless you ladies, in this treasured time together.

I finally got to visit the Great Smokey Mountains in the Highlands of NC. It was beautiful. We also went to a white squirrel festival in Brevard. It was such fun to be close to the place where my DNA biology family lived. I know that they were more in the mountains than where l was , but it was so gorgeous. Everyone was so friendly.
The 11 hour road trip up from FL was so much fun ! It’s fun to drive through new places and see places in our country that are new to us .

I believe in God and I love hearing and sharing your thoughts on the Bible. Well my granddaughter I only have two went from a healthy happy five year old Memorial Day to being in the hospital the next day. Diagnosed with childhood diabetes, she will be on insulin the rest the her life. She and her mommy and daddy are in the hospital with her. There lives now are learning how to administer insulin. Everyone is so scared especially Haylee. But I know we have a God who is bigger than this and he is with us all. So I just wanted to say to you all thank you for your readings and if you could find a moment to give to Haylee a little prayer. Blessings to you all ❤️🙏❤️

I'm so happy for you Tipper it's a really good book.When your driving with your girls I remember driving with mine when they were your girls age.When my 2 would get to talking to each other and I would set and listen I would get a kick out of them talking about their friends and such. ❤️
I am so sorry I didnt' make it to the book signing. I had many pictures of my family I wanted to share with you from this area. I had issues at the property and couldn't get there. I hope there may be another one soon in East Tennessee. You all are one of the reasons I moved to East Tennessee from Florida to set up my own homestead. With my family being from the Appalachian Mountains, I felt the need to return to my roots. Thank you and your whole family for keeping Appalachia memories alive for us all to enjoy and remember. This was just awesome....congrats on your book and all the book signings......Father has truly blessed! I love the Mast store.....I bought my backpack and all my backpacking equipment from them.....they were awesome! They will fit your backpack to you....put everything you are carrying in it, and have you walk around the store awhile to be sure the pack is big enough or if it is to big, and if it holds all you need and fit properly for a great hike......Just an Awesome place and people! So glad y'all made it home safe and without sickness.....be blessed!

Congratulations on your new cookbook! I do wish I could meet you all in person, but I will go to the Etsy shop and order a copy. I follow you all on YT and enjoy it all. I wanted to share that I too as a child suffered from car sickness. Me AND my little sister. We grew up in Mt Holly and on any given Sunday my daddy would say at the dinner table, “Who wants to ride to the mountains?” Obviously our love for the mountains outweighed the idea of getting carsick, and looking back, our parent’s love for the mountains outweighed the trouble of finding a place to pull over for mom to clean us up. Several times each trip. May God continue to bless your family in all your endeavors.

I used to get car sick when I was little. I grew out of it though. Shoot our pup used to get car sick, but she grew out of it too. My dad used to call seasickness when he was in the Army "the bulkhead stares". The soldiers got so sick on those ships. That looks like WV. I travel roads like that everyday. When you see the arrows meaning a curve is coming up you had better pay attention, lol :) How does it feel to be so loved by so many? Great I bet. It's wonderful so many prayers are being said for Miss Cindy. What a blessing for you all! Ole' Katie is the outgoing one isn't she? I bet she was wondering about maybe fishing with Nick in that water you all drove over 😀

I noticed one of the people in line was holding a Charles Chips can, and it reminded me of being a kid and having a driver from that company show up every week or two with enough potato chips and pretzels to feed a family of six until his next visit.
