Your dad, Jerry, couldn’t ask for a better legacy than the love story your mom shared. To say how thankful to God for them meeting, and how good he was to everyone. She also said the Lord really blessed her with Jerry. Wow. That’s a beautiful love story.
My Daddy was the one who pitched a fit 😂Being the only Daughter with 5 Brothers my Dad thought I hung the Moon 🌝 I did have Beautiful little Church Wedding 💒 But My Dad was so Happy to see me after a Weeks Honeymoon 💕🤗💐
SHE IS A PRECIOUS LADY,IT BREAKS MY HEART TO HEAR HER TALK ABOUT HIM AND HOW MUCH SHE MISSES HIM.I COULD LISTEN TO HER TALK ALL DAY,YOU ARE BLESSED TO HAVE A MAMA LIKE HER.GOD BLESS HER
What a wonderful recollection of a meeting that might have never happened but seems to almost have been predestined. What a blessing to be left with beautiful memories when somebody leaves us. Thanks again for sharing these memories with us - it sort of makes me feel like we're neighbors, even if only internet neighbors.
Tipper, I hadn't realized how much your mother and I have in common. I am 80, widowed, and was married to my dear husband for 52 years. What a wonderful love story she tells. Bless you, Granny and all your family.
This is such a sweet loving love story. ♥️ Tipper you favor your mama when she was a young woman and your daddy was a good looking man. Love your mama she’s a sweet precious lady.
Dear sweet Granny... Thank you for sharing your beautiful love story . You all are such beautiful women. I can see Corie & Katie in you and Tipper. God bless you and keep you.🤗🥰🙏🌷
Granny is so lovely, with her pretty white hair. What a wonderful love story! And what a treasure for future generations of your family, to have this recorded. I really enjoyed seeing the photos of granny and pap when they were young as well.
Imagine 52 years of Trustworthy Companionship. That's a Miracle anymore. My Mama and Daddy were married 15 yrs when my Daddy died in 1973. Mama was a Widow for 39 years waitin' to go home to Daddy. True Love is Eternal. May God continue to Bless you Dear Lady ❤️.
Oh my God. What a testament to their love that she would still thank God that they had met after all these years. I sat here and cried because that woman was missing her husband. That's a wonderful love story. Thank you for posting it. It gives me hope in life. I saw so much of the girls in her younger picture. What a sweet lady
What a precious love story. And in the picture of your mom with her mom, it is like looking at Katie!! Wow!! What a strong resemblance Katie has to her Granny when her Granny was young!! ♥️🥰♥️
Bless her heart. She was a rebel, goin off and getting married without her mama knowing. She is so sweet. I wish I could sit and talk with her. She reminds me so much of my family. I loved hearing their stories too. Thank you for sharing.
this is the beauty of this short mortal life, men and women in total dedication and love to one another. It's sad that people today perceive this as some burdon or contrition
I think that is one of the sweetest love story's I've ever heard, because it's not something that's been made up...it's real. I just love your Mother. She's an Angel.
Even though this video is a year old, I just came across it. Your mother is so precious. And I loved hearing hers and Jerry's story of meeting and getting married. It is somewhat similar to my story. My boyfriend had gone into the service and came home on leave. We went and got our license with the intention of getting married the next week, but upon seeing a justice of the peace office, he turned in and said we've waited long enough, so get married, we did. We were married 54 years when the Lord took him home, almost two yrs ago and I, too, miss him so very much. I thank you, Tippa, for sharing your sweet mother and her story with us. Give her a hug for me
Granny is about as precious as can possibly be. As She said,, if she hadn't gotten home sick and got back home,,would have never met Mr Jerry. Wish every human being on the planet had the kind heart Granny has. ,World would be a much better place for sure. Tell Granny Thank You for sharing her 'love story".
What a precious story 🥺 my mother-in-law married at 16 and has now been married for 51 years. My husband and I have been together for about 17 years now and I look forward to telling these kinds of stories to our 2 daughters and their children in the future. Thank you for sharing this! It brightened my day.
That is so wonderful! My parents met when she was waiting tables. She had worked in woodworking factory while men were in WWII. My dad who had just come back from Guam where he had been stationed with The Fighting CeeBees US Navy. As she was taking his order, he asked her out for dinner & a movie. Thinking he probably forgot, she stood at the bus stop to take bus home. Suddenly he was standing right behind her & asked if she was ready to go out for the evening! They, like granny & Papp, dated for three months & got married! They were married for 51 yrs when The Lord called daddy home! That was the hardest time of my life as he was my hero! It was easier losing mom for two reasons-she had Alzheimer’s & the fact she was without dad! It only seemed right they were once again together❤️ When dad came back from the war, he went back to his place of employment which happened to be the woodworking factory that mom had worked in during the war! Dad worked there 48 yrs until his heart attacked him.
I got married at 18 because my husband was off in the military and i missed him so much. I still remember being terrified to tell my parents we had decided to get married and I would moving across the country. We're still together 32 yrs later. Watching this lovely lady talk about her husband warmed my heart. 💜
Serendipity ❤️ Puts down handkerchief and thinks, “ Where’s that ‘55 right now?” Your Mother’s an absolute treasure. Preservation of the stories and the ways is so very important. My Mom had five sisters, growing up in the Willamette valley in the ‘20’s-‘30’s. Takes me back…🥲
I can relate in so many ways to her story. My mama pitched a fit too when Danny asked me to marry him 5 days after he met me in person (we had already been talking on the phone for well over a month by then). We were married a little over 2 months later and over time Mama grew to love him. When the Lord called him home after only 15 wonderful years with him, Mama took it hard because he had endeared himself to her as a son and she still misses him and mentions how it's not the same without him there at our family meals.
What an awesome story, you can tell she really loved your daddy, they seemed to definitely be SOULMATES. It’s such a blessing for you to still have her to share these special memories with y’all and with us. 52 years of marriage that’s something to be proud of for sure!! Thanks for sharing her with us. GOD Bless Y’all. 🙏🏻🙏🏻😇😇🙌🏻🙌🏻
What a wonderful story. I, too, had a precious husband for 54 years, & like your mama, I miss him every day. The memories are a balm & our kids, grands & greats are a blessing. She is a precious lady & her story is touching! God bless her & you. Love and prayers ❤😊
What a beautiful ole soul and lady!!! Yes, you are blessed, to have a granny such as this. I could listen to her storytelling all day. Thanks so much for the things that are beautiful and important to you, things that would embarrass some people because of the "country (Appalachian) talk" and some who were "bothered" about their family members which included grandparents, parents, and aunts and uncles. Usually cousins were always accepted for who they were. Wow, what sad thoughts. I love that you love your family and are proud of your family and roots. Thanks so much for sharing your life with us.
What a lovely story. I feel in my heart she will be with Jerry again (hopefully a long time from now) in the sweet by and by. Thank you so much for sharing.
Oh bless her heart !! She is precious!! She probably knows he is still with her, when you love like that , people die but they do not leave us. May she be blessed with the knowing he is with her always . ❤️❤️❤️💯
Such a precious story about the love of her life. Thank you Tipper for sharing. My husband and I, his name is Jerry also, have been married 53 years. It seems like it’s flown by. Only the Lord know the number of our days. He still works very hard. Thank you again for sharing this beautiful love story.❤️
I lost my mom when I was 12 and my mawmaw in early 1990. I wish I could hear their stories now. When I lost them I lost a part of my own history. I love this story. Beautiful lady.🐱🌼❤
What a precious lady. Beautiful love story. That's what marriage is suppose be. A love that will stand the test of time. You have really touched my heart.
I lived in Haywood county for 20 years, I lived in the back of the hills. I lived where moonshine was made.. I truly loved the area, the people were true. My grandmother was full of stories of the Appalachia stories and I always loved hearing her stories. My grandmother truly lived off the land and what the area had to offer. My grandmother made a living off of selling her honey and apples, grandfather had died before I was born.. Grandmother is gone, but sure do miss her stories.. Love them why you have them.. Oh and my granny also did sewing.. To some that might seem a rough life, but not too my grandmother...Blessings to all.
I love your momma. Her stories are the best. What a beautiful life she has lived. God bless her heart. You absolutely had beautiful parents. I wish things were as simple and pure as they were during her courtship with Jerry. I love her so much. I could listen to her all the time. You are blessed. Thank you for posting all these beautiful videos. It has always been my dream to live in the mountains. Our family goes to the Smokies once a yr and it's the most beautiful clean place in our country and the people are kind respectful and the are real.
I cried listening to this. Thank you for preserving your heritage and sharing it with us. I'm Southern but only had little experience in true Appalachia and y'all are the nicest people we've got in the States. God bless your entire family
What a sweetheart she is. They had a wonderful life together. And, they made a very handsome couple. I know she must miss him so much. Blessings always! ♥️🙏🏼♥️
