    Very helpful! Recently purchased a juvenile regular ball python (het albino!) and am thinking of breeding her when she’s ready. I know im about 3-4 years away from that, but better to know now than never❤️

    Thanks Garrick, this video is very useful & informative. Especially, like myself, a first time Ball Python breeder.

    Great video! I'm waiting on a pre lay shed from my female (she's blue right now) and she ovulated April 5th. This is my first breeding season. Got my incubator all set up and I'm just waiting for those eggs now! I love watching your videos!!!

    Garrick, I found your channel a few months ago, and I love it. I'm an (older) young lady that has always loved snakes. My husband of 45 years has agreed to letting me have a couple of BPs and I am so excited. I would like to inquire about any animals you have for sale and where can I see them. I bet your 'weed outs' are so beautiful....lol

    I just had my first female lay 8 days ago and for thr last 3 days the rugs are denting a little. Like a raisin getting dehydrated yet my humidity is 99% and temp is 89.7.
    I can't find any information on eggs in incubators and knowing good changes from bad changes. Don't suppose you have any videos on it? Thry are fertile and have good veins but idk why thry looks so limpy and bumpy all od a sudden.

    If it ain’t broke, then y fix it is probably your thought to it but have you ever tried glad press and seal with your incubating tubs and doing a mix ratio of 1.1 meaning if you put 100grams of vermiculite you put 100grams of water? Just curious bc that’s how I’m trying to do it so there’s as least possible errors that could occur and everyone’s doing it that way but your doing it this way but been doing it for years so I was just curious to what your thoughts on doing it that way, still using a light diffuser of course but nice vid and can’t wait for them to pip out of the eggs

    So what if you candle them and one is already flipped during the initial laying process ? Then is it worth separating to get that 1 egg up right ? I mean in a lot of situations were praying on a 1/8 or 1/16 odds .

    I am hatching out my first clutch. Should I be concerned that there might not be enough oxygen in the incubator when they hatch? It is a mini-fridge I converted into an incubator.

    Ur supposed to see what side the embryo is on by using a flashlight and marking the embryo UPRIGHT not all the time embryos are right side up after being layed

    So is your thermostat set @ 88-89° with the probe attached to the heat source? Or is it 88-89° inside the tub? I notice that I need to have the thermostat set at 92° so the temp inside the tub is 89° when probe is attached to the heat tape.

    • @TheRoyalConstrictor
      @TheRoyalConstrictor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I set my thermostat temps high enough to get the hot spot on top of the substrate to be about 90. Most of my thermostats are set at about 93 degrees.

    I haven't seen anyone leaving the female for a couple of weeks to think she is still with eggs. That interesting! Most clean them and move to a new tub after they lay. Do you find this benefits them is going back on food?

    How do you have fresh water for the snakes when You're gone on vacation who takes care of them or do you just leave them on their own until you come back and clean up the mess and give them fresh water And feed them?

    Why don't you let the snake incubate them?......Curious.

    • @TheRoyalConstrictor
      @TheRoyalConstrictor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is much more difficult to maintain the specific temperature and humidity required to incubating them in the breeder's tubs. Also, if the female incubates her own eggs, she won't feeding during the 2 months incubation time. She ends up losing out on a lot of extra meals, which means she won't have the fat reserves to likely produce another clutch the following year.

    Just leave the female to incubate the eggs herself. That is mean taking the eggs off her.
