This’ll be my third year breeding my favorite pair of corn snakes, should be getting lil eggos in the next week so this is all a great refresher for me! Thanks very much! :D
Hi Emily, Just yesterday I was practising my instrument and looked up to see a lizard on the window blind! I walked over with a pencil to check it was alive but it moved as I got a bit closer! I called out to my brother who brought in a jar and once the lizard conveniently fell inside we went out to look up what he was. Turns out he was just a common garden skink found everywhere around here in a Australia. My brother and I went out to the garden to realise him and I slid him onto my hand because apparently they’re friendly to humans and he just sat on my finger, super chill! He was also ADORABLE. (Probably a baby) I brought him back inside to show my family and my mum suggested to stand under the heat lamps in the bathroom to warm him up! I couldn’t let him go so we kept him for the rest of the day, gave him a drink and had him in a plastic take away container with dirt and leaves and a water bowl. He was pretty happy. Later in the day I was pondering of keeping him but decided, even though he’s super chill and didn’t drop his tail tail at all, he is still wild and it’s better he dies by natural selection not by humans keeping him incorrectly. We warmed him up one last time then set him out in the garden in the darkness. Plenty of bugs out and no birds! I know this was a long comment but I wasn’t scared of the little skink at all and I felt like Snake Discovery helping the animal and talking about it to my family. ^^ Okay bye!
You know Emily, my son(5) and I started watching snake discovery because he was interested in birds when he was younger. And now a year or so later we watch ever single video. I never thought I would ever consider getting a snake because I've always been really scared of them but Snake Discovery has changed that. You guys are really cool. Also: those eggs look massive
Similar story here for my 5 year old girl. I agreed to a ball python and we had him for 2 months now. He's doing great, very nice and low maintenance! I never ever thought I would touch let alone get a snake.. but my fears are completely gone since holding him and of course ... Snake Discovery!
I have found these videos interesting, even though I don't own a sneck of my own. I think they are really well done and deserve being watched. Also, I'm like "must take notes on best breeding practices" because my pleb brain loves learning new things
hey snake discovery! i just wanted to say that I've been watching your videos for a while and I FINALLY convinced my dad to get me a snake. your videos are actually what got me into liking reptiles. i remember the day a snake slithered under my foot I freaked out and ran in the house. after the incident I decided to watch snake videos and your videos were the ones that popped up. thank you for helping people understand that snakes are amazing creatures not spawns of the devil!

Thanks for this information my corn snakes are ready to lay and I’ve got an incubator and also these extra tips will surely help me and my snakes thanks ☺️
I don't know about everyone else, but the thing I like most about this series is that it makes everything comprehensive! Most of the info in here is stuff we've seen in your other videos, but it's more spread out and makes it harder to find. Like this, it's really easy to look for exactly what topic we'd need to cover!
I absolutely love your content. It has inspired me so much and had me prepared when I became a snake aunt. And when I get older I'm going to become a snake breeder and have a exotic animal sanctuary! You've gifted me with a new dream I hope will come true!
Not related to this video, but I was watching your meet all my animals part 2, and Rex and I share the same birthday! I'm March 1st aswell! Love you guys, you give me nice vibes and you've helped me gain happiness! Thank you!
Snake discovery thank you so much for putting this information out there! I've been having such a hard time finding and locating good helpful information on how to breed colubrids and your videos on the topic have been a huge help! Keep doing what you guys do!
Since you were questioning if people were liking these videos at the end of today's video, I just felt like I should say I am really enjoying them! I think a lot of people who are here watching these videos either really love reptiles, or just love learning about new topics. Being a college student currently, I can also say that your teaching has been much more engaging than some of the ways my professors' have been trying to teach us online, so props to you guys! Teaching is a hard task! I was also an education major at one point, so getting any kind of audience engaged to learn is astounding! Love your videos and please keep them going!
Emily questions for you about eggs, have you ever peeled eggs apart and one of them ripped open? What would happen if this did occur and would there be a way to keep the fluids inside the egg allowing the egg to develop (wrapping it in clingfilm? - I'm just thinking this wouldn't allow oxygen to pass through the shell). Could you patch it up with tape on one side?
Hi Emily. Thanks for this great video series. It has helped me so much, along with your other videos. I got a surprise clutch of checkered garters about 2 weeks ago. My male and female proved to be het albino! I have 15 little spaghetti noodles and 4 are albinos. Your videos have helped me successfully get them eating and growing!

Even though I don't plan to ever breed/broomate snakes or incubate eggs I still love watching these videos. I just love learning about snakes and how they reproduce in captivity.
This is a great video! Thank you so much. We recently found a baby Ringneck snake, he wasn't eating at all after a week we found him. We had to start force feeding because he was super skinny. Now he is back to normal and is almost eating on his own!

I am loving the series, very informative. One question though, is there a more official name then sticky stuff for the stuff that holds the eggs together?
I love watching all of your videos. When I started watching I was scared of snakes and now I can say I have a lot of respect for snakes and actually like snakes now.
I have to ask do you compost all the moss and bedding? I feel like you would have the best compost pile in town with all the changes and stuff you guys have to make. Great for gardens!
My corn snake Safire /black and white/ had something weird on her eyes and the next morning she had a VERY small clutch of eggs 🥚 round about 9 and at least 7 or 6 where slugs! We don’t have a thermometer 🌡 so we don’t know the correct temperature. We used a bright lamp and started shifting it about to get it right. Also when we moved Safire away she moved her eggs a bit 😬 also she not fully grown yet and she’s quit small. This video helped us improvise and work with what we have and I thank you 😊 I really hope her eggs are fertile but either way I’m proud of her 🥰 Edit: 3 eggs were brought to the pet shop. 2 eggs they couldn’t see anything and one they saw a vain. There is a chance so they put the eggs in a proper incubator and that’s that! I me and my mum looked at what snakes breeding look like and it looked like what dusty was doing to Safire 0-0 /we put all 4 of them together when we clean there tank things / I hope there ok and thx for reading 🥰
Emily, I love this series! Can you possibly do an experiment for us with one of your clutches? In a previous video you noted that one of the eggs you stroked before the hatch date ended up hatching first. Perhaps you could stroke 5 or so eggs in one clutch before the due date and mark them with a sharpie so we can see if they exhibit hatching behavior first! 🐍💕

Well, this channel and video became invaluable to me. Got a cornsnake and not even a week after having her and she laid a clutch of eggs. Noticed the eggs just yesterday, so I set them into a tub and we'll see what happenes.
