This might be the most informative and best laid out game plan I've seen so thank you for your knowledge it's always welcome great video is always and I'll see you on the next one thank you.
This was EXTREMELY HELPFUL! I think my Firefly is ovulating. It will be the first clutch I have produced if I'm right. She was locked up with an Albino Black Pastel Pinstripe. So excited! Subscribing!!! 🤘🏻
This has been the most helpful video on the breeding schedule/timeline. I watched cross this one. Thank you for breaking it down. Numbers and timelines help! Thanks a bunch!
I literally have referred to this video for the last 2 seasons of breeding now, absolutely great invaluable content my friend! Cannot wait to run into you at a show in the US, cheers my friend!
Just started watching your channel and I am hooked ! Love this video my man ! It’s channels like this that inspired me to make my channel ! Keep it up!
I said this before but I am expecting eggs in the next day or so and your videos have been absolutely helpful in the whole process. Very excited for these clutches.
❤️🥰😍💞LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! I JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY FEMALE PIED AND MY ORANGE DREAM VANILLA SPOT NOSE ARE BREEDING I FOUND THEM IN A COPULATION AND HER BEING ALMOST 3 YEARS OLD SHE'S FINALLY TURNED AWAY FOOD WHERE HE HAS COMPLETELY BEEN EATING THE PAST 3 DAYS LIKE CRAZY SO I FIND IT INTERESTING BUT THEN TO FIND THEM TOGETHER LIKE THAT YOU JUST ABSOLUTELY BLOWS MY MIND SO I DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING HAPPENING BUT IF IT DOES YAY I'M HAPPY SO I'M SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS VIDEO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EDUCATING US!!!
Been watching your videos for awhile now, Gavin. Gotta say this is a very informative video. Love the work you do. This will be my first year breeding. I pray everything goes well. Thank you for all the knowledge you give and have.
One of the best snake videos I ever saw if not the best... very clear and informative, I'm feeling much more confident after watching this. Just still a bit unsure if I can recognise "the glow before they go" as opposed to the glow after a shed but only experience can help with this. Thank you Gavin.
@@Balls2U My YB Shed on the 10th of March, she was glowing after and today refused food for the first time. I remembered what you said in the video about them looking for a cool spot and sure enough today she has been in either the cooler end or squashed up on top of hide. I wasn't expecting to pair up until October/ November but ended up putting a Gravel Pastel in with her as the male she was supposed to go with hasn't arrived yet.... felt like a peeping Tom watching them meet and hoping to see some action but first thing he did was a take a massive dump in her RUB. lol
I was looking up parthenogenesis to try to learn more about it and I stumbled on your channel. You should make a full video explaining parthenogenesis!!!
Great video 👍 very clear and simple. Thank you so much! But I do have one question. If the female does shed around 20mm will she still have a pre-lay shed?
@balls2u I had just paired my female normal to a Mojave/cinnamon male. I had a question about feeding. I offers my female a rat but she didn’t take it should I be worried?
@Balls2U OK I will try some live asf hoppers, was not looking forward to assist feeding lol got as much grace and control of my strength as a toddler 😅
Thanks, Gavin! I just watched your older video recently. This is my first year, pairing 4 girls. I think my cinny is going to go. Never seen what a glow looks like but she's certainly looked bighter the last week or two. Tonight she's really starting to look a big chonky down past her midsection. 🤞
I watched your last video on this topic too but this was a good refresher! I'm hoping for my first clutch this year. My male has been in with my female once so far. I didn't see a lock but saw some good signs. He's going in with her again soon once he's eaten :)
I have watched this video and the other similar one over a dozen times and still benefit from its clarity. At every stage of my project i have been checking back for reassurances all is going to plan. A true gem of a video on youtube. As someone still expecting their first ever clutch this is invaluable information. I now know that because my female has just gone off food she must be at around 20 to 30mm follicle size. Only question i have at this stage is roughly how long between now and the big 45mm ovulation stage?... thats when ill come back to either this or the other video and watch it yet again 😁 Thanks once again Gavin.
This video and the one you made 5yrs ago (original vid) are both in my save videos. I watched the first one a lot and confident that i fully understand the cycle and avoid unnecessary over thinking thankyou! However i still have another question, What day or how many days before laying do they curl and stay on a specific side of the enclosure to make nest? This is the only think i get confused.
I am new to this hobby and your video has made the breeding cycle very clear. I am eager to have my first breeding season. Thank you very much from Canada.
Hello, I had a lock with one of my male and female. That was 16 days ago. Today (16 days after the lock) my female shedded. Is that considered a pre-lay shed or is it more a coincidence and is it just a regular shed?
Awesome info!! Been a python hobbyist for most of my life, but now it's time to make babies and this is definitely going to help! Very well explained! 👍👍🐍🙌
Thanks for the info bro really helped me understand it abit more than I do lol as I am just getting into breeding myself so videos like this really do help
The way you wrote "cool" looked a lot like "cod". I guess the females like to cod seek as well. Thank you for another fine video. I hope that the weather cooperates this year. I want to see beautiful eggs and lovely babies.
hey questions in Incubator build part 2 you say 89 f in Incubator now says 91 f there is little difference what should it be. thank you for all your videos they are of great help.
So love your viedo dude! I have learned a lot! I habe paired my lesser ×bamboo since September, shed December 12, and February 28th. Pretty sure the 28th was her prelay shed!
So during the build stage, feed as much as they will eat until they go off food? How much do you feed your females during the build stage? I've heard many different things and want to have my facts straight for my first breeding season.
Hello, thank you for the video. Quick question for you. I recently picked up a proven 2500 gram breeder female. She is refusing food and she is constantly on the cool side of the tub. She wont let my males lock. Could she already be gravid via retained sperm? Should I continue to introduce males?
Gavin, I always find your breeding time line informative. I paired my lesser pastel with a lesser male last season in a bid to try and get a BEL (which I was lucky enough to do so) and for me the period between ovulation and pre-lay shed was just 24 days, and then from pre-lay shed to laying, 23 days. But, even though I had a digital thermometer in the egg box monitoring the temperatures which stayed around 32c (90f), my eggs went to 69 days before they came out of the eggs. Does temperature during incubation affect the male / female outcome like some other reptiles, or is the sex determined at the point of "conception" ?
@@Balls2U that was the plan the reviews said I could change between c and f I paid for the more expensive one because I didn't want to be cheap so don't know why it's only in Celsius ☹️
So what if I've paired twice and seen locks and their smashing food but not cool seeking with an 88 hot spot and racks in the living room of my apartment thanks for all the great info you consistantly put out Brother

What humidity should they be at
Hi, I had been incubating my clutches at 83 F with no issue, just that they hatch slower (65-70 days), I think the key is consistency in temp.
On my 4th clutch now, 100% hatch rate
