Not only was it kinda itchy, it also was very irritating and hurt to even wash my face. So I stopped using retinol for a month. Started again and didn’t break out this time but started peeling after just one use but I kept going and now people do be giving me compliments

purging takes 2 to 6 weeks and it also depends on the strength of retinol 2.5 retinol is the highest dosage which gets faster results at most it takes 2 to 4 months when you pair it which niacinamide or alphaarbutin for acne scars

Purging happens because it draws out all the oils, dirt and dead skin under your face. If purging doesn't happen, you should consult a dermatologist to see if your retinol really works on you or not.

I'm using adapelene gel and I have been for the past 8 weeks but I have had to skip a couple days because I got a sunburn, will a small break affect how much longer it will take to rid me of my acne? That's the only reason I started using it. After 8 weeks you are supposed to see some results, it's been 4 days including today of not using it, I think my sunburn will be healed by Tomorrow or the day after.
Can this happen with your chest/shoulder area? I've always had boob/shoulder acne so I've started using retinol on those areas and I've really been having a nasty, nasty painful rash. Ugh, I'm on my first week of Retinol. I'm having a major breakout on my right side of my cheek, complete opposite for my left cheek, which is super smooth and I can see the acne scars fading out. However I soldier on knowing the Retinol journey is long and slow. It will be worth it in the end!

I used good molecules retinol cream. It’s extremely gentle, I barely purged. It’s also super hydrating. Just be sure to cleanse, add a layer of moisturizer, wait thirty minutes for it to dry, add a layer of retinol, wait another thirty minutes to dry, and add the final layer of moisturizer
