My husband has ADHD, depression and was on medication for many years. When we moved and he had to get a new Doctor. Unfortunately because my husband was nearly 68, the Doctor said ADHD medication was not recommended for someone his age and he wouldn't renew his prescription. The Dr didn't even offer to wean him off the meds! He left him with no meds and had him go. God so kind a friend recommended us to mushrooms (psilocybin) precisely. After his experience with shrooms five years ago till now there's no more ADHD, depression and mental disorder. Shrooms are life changing. There is no way you can put into words what it feels like..
ADHD is such a poorly named disorder. It really doesn't encapsulate the extent to which poor executive function affects every aspect of your life.
My psychiatrist says the same. Poor choice in name
People don't understand how hard life can be with adhd. The more you inform yourself the better you can treat yourself and respect others who have it
It wasn't until I started nursing school and started getting my life together that my life started to really fall apart
Girl, same! Started Labor Day and was diagnosed with ADHD a month prior. I’m in a nebulous phase right now
This is very relatable! Trying to bring order to my life and realized that I really just cannot do it.
Bear in mind that your first “specialist” may be wrong if they don’t diagnose you. The first psychiatrist I was sent to refused to acknowledge the inattentive form and misdiagnosed me with bipolar disorder no matter the evidence. It actually turned into a power struggle and she just dug in her heels - I so wish that session had been recorded and that I’d filed a complaint.
I insisted on a second opinion - at the age of 49 I wasn’t about to waste any more time on humouring an egomaniac with a degree by enduring a potentially harmful (mis)treatment plan.
Sure enough, two visits with another doctor confirmed my now firm belief that I’ve been living with ADHD.
Girls tend to slip through the cracks and go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed because we don’t present with the hyperactivity as much as boys- either due to extreme social conditioning or by having the inattentive form. Many, like myself, don’t get the diagnosis and treatment until much later in life - after decades of fallout that has done real damage.
Women don’t only have to deal with a wage gap, but have to survive a harmful healthcare gap as well. We have to learn to do our own research and advocate for ourselves with doctors who typically resent being challenged. Good times.
I"m a new immigrant, desperately terrified of the prospect of navigating a new healthcare system, a mental barrier that is driving my ADHD symptoms to the hilt at hte moment, as I've been rationing my medication. Navigating an entirely new system of helathcare is overwhelming as it is! I cannot afford to redo private assessments, as I was successfully managing my diagnosis for the past 5 years, starting at age 41. It's....a conundrum.
Did u fix it?
go back
I have it and untreated My life is unraveling
Please do a video about female adults being diagnosed with ASD.
Yes please! There are a lot of misunderstandings and stigma around ASD, and it often gets overlooked or even misdiagnosed.
There is a mobile game for ADHD and people with short attention span and can even help them to become ASMR ARTIST you can ask your users to play it or you can make a video on it, name of game is: ASMR ARTIST!
ADHDers in this video getting distracted with music in background and trying to understand what each person is saying 😢
This is my story too!
No way in hell I will take medication, who knows what side effects it can give you...
You act like someone has a gun to your head
people can't just "identify" as neurodivergent. if their brain isn't physically/functionally different.
Marimekko! Yep, distracted
