Good to hear the other 2 are still with you. Ya, I HATE the abuse midwest/northeast trucks get from winter and salty road. My Super Duty's frame is pretty rusty and its only an 03! Hell ya man, fix her up! Restore em dont crush em! Though I know this is much easier said than done. Good luck man!
I still have the other 2 trucks. I bought this as a parts truck but I am to attached to it to scrap it. It needs a fair amout of work to be road legal. The salt roads have killed the underneath.
Man, your just loaded with awesome 1st. Gen. Dodge Cummins trucks! Lucky! This a recently purchased truck? Still have the '89 and '93 trucks? Great vid! Cummins sound great as they always do.
@cumminsdiesellover01 Never worked on a second gen truck, but the labor should not be 1500 bucks. I suspect a day to a day and a half is what the conversion would take to install if you have all the parts. For sure get a donor truck so you will have everything you need.
If you have the stock non cooled gear ratio for the auto ( 3.07's ) then you should get very good mpg with the 5 speed swap. You will have low rpm's at highway speed. I have never checked MPG on this truck as it usually works towing and half the time the speedo no worky.
can you make a walk around video of this truck along with a cold start? I would loe to see more of this truck. If they still had the 5 stars thing, I would give you 5 stars. But since they have that crappy thumbs up or down thing, I'll give ya a thimbs up. Nice video
How is your mpg on the interstate with the manuel? Im considering doing this swap, and am aiming for good fuel mileage. I have a 89' with a 727' torqueflite. Non-intercooled
@rafael55 Ask 10 people and you will have different answers. Each generation has there good and bad. I would say that the 1st gen is the most simple to keep going. They have simple suspension, for the most part are electronic free and have a totally mechanical engine system.
How does your truck ride? If there is anything else you can tell me about ride, suspension, driveability, cold starts, problems, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Again
That is friggin awesome!!! POS Duramax is sittin over in the corner while the 20 yr old truck yanks that big ass boat outa there!!!! Love it!

@1958johndeere620 A 1st gen. Cummins is worth a walk around, no matter what shape it's in. :) But I have to agree, I'd like to see more as well.
@pulltilbroke Yes, wimp. I like the clutch in working order. Kinda like the driveshafts intact as well. Is your truck a ford?
@mkinser1026 That depends on if you use used parts, or buy a kit.
@BAMFHICK I bought it this way. It had a 5 speed Getrag in it when new.

@cobalt120 I think they are not. I think the rear tires were on ice and the trailer had sunk in the ground, but what do I know?

Its a 92 you drip. ( But it should have the 21 ) I have a 18.5 here at the house but I suspect I will not change it. Not after power on this one.
@pulltilbroke Yes sir, puts those pesky round trucks on notice.
@TheMilitarynut The truck is not worth a walk around. It is in pretty rough shape. The other side is all dented. She is a work truck.

1958johndeere620 yeah its too bad you could only get 3:55 in a standard

@sabbath7081 YES!! It is named after Quint's boat. :)

Was that old dodge spinning it's tires just to try and move that monstrous boat?...damn.
Boat trailer was either in a hole or frozen to the ground.
@1958johndeere620 shes worth it every dodge truck counts
he plows with the duramax in the winter when he doesnt want to drive the dodges (rust).
@1958johndeere620 Truth be told the D70 will puke before the shaft or the joints LOL
You know what I drive and you like it.
@LGLG69 They are just spray bombed.
This truck lifted
If you got close to it you would see it is not worth much. You can see the ground from inside the truck.
Thats what they all say
doesnt help with the snow and ice and sure the trailer sank a foot or two
@1958johndeere620 its way worth it
jejej😉
HAHAHAHAHA its a 93 so it has that big 21cm housing.
sucks for you!! HAHAHAHA
lol i'm so jealous
