The 1/8" shadow line is the best design inspiration I have seen on youtube. FYI, in 1966, my first furniture build was a stereo cabinet with a 9 bottle whiskey compartment. The whiskey section had front doors and a top lid that opened automatically via springs and solenoid latches. The doors could be opened by just making some sound in a microphone, i.e. the voice command of some 50 years ago.

For the alcohol drawers, if someone WAS worried about the corks, could just glue in a Triangle in the back so they were tilted up a bit in the drawers. Could help turn their labels more upwards for display purposes too maybe. It's a sexy table though. I don't drink whisky but if I had a table like that, I may just have to start just to justify having it lol

I really like the curved sides with the shadowline and have built a couple of projects with those ideas now. The major difference is I'll be filling mine with delicious rum.
Jason, the next time you use your hole saw get your air hose and nozzle, take the nozzle hold the end of it close to the teeth of the hole saw, angle the end of the nozzle downward where the Groove is and blow air in the groove and it won't smoke or burn your wood. This technique blows the saw dust out and makes your hole saw cut smoother and faster. I do it all the time. Love you videos Jason.
The finished piece is gorgeous. At first i thought "Wow, all that wasted space on the left side. he's just putting glasses against a false back." Then I realized the table was symmetrical and had the same drawer/glass storage on the other side. Great job.
Love the look... personally I'd put a riser in the drawers to lift the top of the bottle a little way. Not so much for saving the corks (like you, it doesn't stick around long enough), but just think it would look cool to have them propped up a bit. Was that an Auchentoshen Three Wood I saw there?
I never heard that about cork being damaged if stored flat. Must be the higher alcohol content. Wine bottles with natural corks are stored on their sides to keep the cork from drying out.
It's funny that the more experienced you are, the more effort you have to use to achieve a shadow line :) As an amateur woodworker myself, these shadow lines happen all by themselves:)
