My wife and I talked about selling our stuff and traveling the world. We stopped when we remembered neither of us are CEO of anything and we have nothing of value that could fund that lifestyle.
Cool TV box.
😂
This. ;-)
My thought this entire video.
I couldn't stop looking at the rings on her hand! That alone would fund your trip!
Also couldn’t help but notice they now have all the ‘stuff’ again. LOL.
"... and this tiny little desk space in the workshop is for my husband" is so, so hilarious.
He's lucky to get even that! LMAO!!!
and even still she's like "he had to have it and can't even keep it organized" 😂
Barbara is a badass. Acrylic nails and woodworking, love it.
Here's an idea for you Jason. Come to my hometown Brisbane Australia which is Bluey's home. Bring your son along and I can take him to Bluey's actual house, then we can get busy makin' sawdust in my workshop
The project would have to be Mad Max themed! 😃
Love seeing a fellow woodworking woman featured on your channel!
Fort Worth is a fun city, and being someone who dislikes a blank television screen staring into a room thinks that project is fun too. Barbara is a very cool lady, and her husband's cooking made my mouth water.
Just Love the contrast between the Guy they built the bed with, squeezing all the Material in His Audi, having only one sawblade for both His saws, which was also a really cool Guy and Video. And Barbara, with a Truck, a huge Shop and all kinda Tools you would want😂
Pretty sure she’s driving a rivian r1 too.
Yep that was a Rivian R1T.
@@w2ttsy670they definitely have some money in that household. Haslet isn’t a cheap place to buy either
@@chadhowell1328 yeah, this couple, as kind hearted as they are, ticked all the “upperclass Americans” check boxes.
Husband with a high school football inspired nickname, unnecessarily massive home for a DINK couple, prestigious job history, and massive food spreads for dinner every night, I’m sure they vote Republican but tell everyone they voted Democrat.
Nothing against them, they’ve worked hard for this, but this was a checklist of privilege.
@@w2ttsy670 fine by me. They earned it so not hurting my feelings. Don’t care how they vote etc, they seem like good people to me. Most in that area are great people and very giving as well.
Very interesting episode. The contrast between the elegance of this lady and her passion for manual work is impressive
That’s Texas for you…
😂 You may want to google what part of the BULL, that "Beef Jerky" is made from 😂
Barbara has the looks, talent, projects, and tools to be a content creator herself.
Glad you got to see Ft Worth. You know, we're all like Barb down here. Y'all come back now, ya'hear? - Chris
A black box to cover up a black box. Nice!
Yeah I thought that too. I would've painted it the same color as the walls XD
Be much better to run the design to the ceiling and round the sides of the fire place.
Hide the box that hides the box (tv) in a feature wall.
While at it, make some gaps in the vertical paneling (whatever it’s called) to “frame” the photo/painting you put above the opening portion.
Oh wow! You were right up the road from us. (Going from Haslet to FW Plywood, you passed two ways to get to my house.) We even eat at that exact Longhorn Steakhouse all of the time.
Anyway, I'm so glad, Jason, that you and Craig got to visit us before it got too hot and that you found us to be good, friendly people down here.
(Stunning work you do, Barbara! It's great to see another woman being the primary woodworker in the house.)
HOWDY neighbor! :::::waving from North Denton County :::::
Ouahhhh!
She seems sweet, genuine and she was right when she said they made good money! Niiiiice toools!
I'm happy for her!
The CEO of united way makes $1,578,515 good money might be an understatement
@@howardwmoore 🤣🤣
The only thing I can think of to improve this project would be to make it all automated. Push a button the drawers open and the tv comes down. Great stuff. I'm now going to look into one of those tv mounts.
Agreed but this channel has never done stuff with servo motors and microcontrollers. That can be a rabbit hole of its own. As I know too well.
@@RaffBuilding Yup. It's one of those "Oh, you just need this and that. Easy" that turns into its own 3 month project.
For anyone who wants to experience this hell on a professional level, I can highly recommend StuffMadeHere
Microcenter sells that mount.
absolutely love Barbara, she's a real person.
What a lovely couple. I would love to see more of her builds. She needs to start doing videos. And you... of course... are just so amazing.
Finally we got a real woodworker on this channel 😁
The production value on this is something else too. Feels very much like something that could be on network TV. Everything just feels a little more refined than usual.
Simply awesome viewing 👏
So much respect for you including the mistakes. We learn more from our failures than from our successes. Thank u sooooo much.
Shout out to all us gals out there! 🎉❤
No
Love that y’all had struggles. Makes us mere mortals feel better.
Such a nice build and Barbra and her husband seem absolutely wonderful.
Barbara's husband is a master chef.
Agreed!
I love the Patreon builds!
I missed you by a day at plywood co. I’m one town over from Haslet. How cool for Barbara - and shout out to her for getting into woodworking and building out a sweet garage shop!
5:31 This had me laughing. Having flown quite a few times, i just love, and can easily see, how nobody at all even reacts.
Hell, i wouldn't. I would just think, 'But of course, it's the airport'.
I love how Jason thinks a flight from OR to TX is “long”.
Hopefully he doesn’t draw my name out of the hat or he’ll finally get to experience a long flight when he has to come to Australia!
I like her, I’m impressed with her builds! She’s not into making crap fast she’s into building long lasting real pieces and go her!!!
Enjoy watching the details placed in this build. Great to see you hanging with your subscribers.
I think what I like most about these build is that it’s often not a fully kitted shop so making do with limited tools.
Like her shop, especially the Go Navy sign.
Awesome build, I'm looking forward to the day you draw the name of a hand tool woodworker lol. It shall be priceless
The build would probably be a little box and barely finished in a week 😁
Power tool Barbie. Barbara is badass!
This is cool to see! Haslet isn’t too far away from us and I’m also a photographer/woodworker
Sweet build, at first I was like nah don't paint it! but then again the black looks really good and it hides the seam perfectly which is better
Beautiful workshop, woodworking combined with eating... those are my kind of people.
wow, what a nice experience for you. they seem so nice - love the cooking. the project looks great too!
Tbh, the plywood company in Fort Worth is awesome. By far, the easiest wood purchasing experience and probably the cheapest in the area. Also pretty close to where you guys were in Haslet so that’s another plus. I make a 2 hour drive with a trailer everytime I go and it’s still worth it.
I think a motorized tambour rollup with a linear actuator to lower and raise the TV would be cool. You could even have the tambor roll down behind the TV when it is out to hide the wires and such. Push a button on a remote and TV out, push again and TV hidden.
Fantastic everything, regular TV is done. Great design, real problems and great entertainment.
The Texas Table Saw Massacre!
😂
@@motostuna956 not bad!
the mantel mount for the tv over the fireplace is definitely the way to go if you have a TV above the fireplace. 10/10 solution
I'm impressed with Barbara. Yeah, the woodworking is great and all, but FINALLY someone that doesn't just mount a TV above the fireplace and pretending it's in the right spot! No /r/tvtoohigh here! 😂
I got to say I was surprised you put that bully stick in your mouth knowing what its made of. We give them to our dogs all the time :) I loved the video as always.
Great project Jason and yes, hind sight is always 20/20.
With four very talented people, working together, you overcame the obstacles and finished an outstanding project.
You kept it real with the design decisions and redesign options that made it workable. From vision to reality. I like it!
What an amazing design. Love the finished look. Great job as always guys.
I love how not a single person batted an eye at him hopping on the luggage. LOL. We are desensitized to creators.
This build was cool and so fun to watch, but I was kinda hoping to see something that would open up towards the ceiling to make use of how much space was there and would look like art above the tv when in use. Love to see the on the job problem solving!
9:46 when she said slide up I said to myself “what?!?!?” Then the camera pans up. I think you’d need to stack my condo 3 times to reached her ceiling height. Must be nice. 😄
Can't hide money
Also, Texas.
That rock on her finger can buy your condo 3x over😂
@@deansnipah1392 i couldn't take my eyes off of it the entire video
Absolutely amazing
Here’s this fantastic video, beautiful works from before the video, and a phenomenal project. Me: RIVIAN!!!
Seems like TD is the guy to do a collab with next just for the food.
That was a pretty cool build. She is very creative.
That looked amazing.
This was a great episode. She seems so cool to hang out with, great couple to know. Excellent shop and projects she has there too.
Go Barbara! That’s a shop! Very skilled lady
Great video and an excellent project! Glad y'all got some of that Texas hospitality.
Very entertaining watch. You are always on time with your presentations!
Loved this vid and experience. Truly awesome!
That was a great building project, and the food 🍱 looks amazing too,
That tv mount is crazy! Good work on the cabinet looks great
Barbara is flippin awesome. A very talented woodworker. ALSOOOO… It sounds like her husband is an awesome cook!
“And then Scottie Scheffler helped us load some MDF into the back of Barbara’s truck.” I’m dead. 😂
Great video, great hosts, great project.
Absolutely awesome video
That turned out really nice!! Great idea!
Great episode Barbara and TD seem like amazing people.
I've used that valspar cabinet paint before and couldn't for the life of me get it to spray well, and even in idea conditions it took forever to dry! Awesome project!
Awesome family. Go Navy Beat Army!
That's really lovely. In a next stage, we learn to make spur gears and pulleys in wood so to get the half-cabinets open and close symmetrically with the movement compensated with weights, making the operation force-less (who needs motors when gravity does the trick?)
Nice job, once again!
That bit will be on I Build It CA.
LOL! She has a Burgess Construction Consultants Sticker on her power panel. That means they inspected her home. I work for Burgess in Texas as well in San Antonio. Small world.
Damn those are some great tools!! You got the bonus program all those awesome meals! Well done all
Around
This is an awesome design guys!!!!
Thank you for making these videos. You save me so much time! I just recently bought the no name countersink bit and it works great. I took me a long time to find one because I can't justify paying the price of the Amana. Now I'll be buying the Neitra rules.
Very cool build and very cool people!
I would love seeing you working in Germany, but the price is too high for us poor germans 😀
Nice job Barbara
Barbara has an awesome shop.
A great project for a sweet video. Nicely done 🙂
Thats an awesome build! Glad I got to meet yall while yall where here as well!
Maybe some slats on the wall. So when you open the cabinet you done see the wall and the wires.
her shop is my dream!
Jason knows where that bully stick came from. 🐮 🚀
Great build, great couple, great video. What's not to like! Barbara's shop is a lot like mine with everything on wheels, but hers is nicer in all aspects. Her personal chef seemed quite capable. I would have gained 20lbs during the week.
Thanks for the awesome start to a beautiful saturday morning.
Cool one Good Job
Great job, everyone! (I wonder if Barbara and I were ever at Texas School together.)
I was at Texas School for many years!
@@Barbara4Legacy I knew it. After I commented, I found your insta. :) I went to the last few in CS and the first few in your area.
Simply awesome viewing 👏
Nice build.
I've been to maybe 10 CEDIA (custom electronic design and installation association) shows and this looks like something that would fit right in with a bit of tweaking.
Nice work.
Nice trip.
Well spent time.
You were in my neck of the woods!! AND you got to go to Ft. Worth Plywood Company to boot, which is quite the place!! The project turned out great and you got to meet some wonderful Texans!! :)
Very cool build! Way to class up woodworking, Barbara! And TD can cook (stealing the scallop recipe).
Great project. Please let Barbara know I'm a big fan of her Yurman jewelry.
that was Yurman? WOW
@@debby8428 Pretty sure a lot of it was. I recognized multiple pieces (necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings.)
@@T_Jonesy nice! those are expensive!
Not a woodworker, but watch a lot of these videos. In my naivety, I would have though that undermount drawer slides between the cabinet and the mantle would have been a viable option.
I was thinking along similar lines. Heavy-duty under-mount drawer slides would have worked great. There are plenty that can handle 250+ pounds, so that box wouldn’t be a problem.
I’d keep the slides on the upper shelf, though, just to keep them hidden.
Jason, love your channel! I watched this video with my 7 year old son and 15 year old daughter. I usually never comment on anything but I’m surprised that you guys didn’t use soft close drawer slides. You maybe thought of that but I’d think it would have made the last 6” to 1’ come together really easily. Might have pulled and held the two sides nicely together!?
Amazing build! But PLEASE link that TV wall mount that looks so nice!!!
It was by a company called Mount It
Awesome, thanks you so much! I'll definitely check them out.
The thing I liked about in this video is the problem-solving approach. This is something we all go through on builds, so it’s nice to watch you struggle and learn from your challenges. The thing I find hilarious? ridiculous? absurd? about this video is the lengths people will go to both install a TV in an unwatchable location AND to then attempt to hide a TV. Think about it. It’s as if they are ashamed of the TV and their addiction to it.
I live 5 minutes from Haslet. You should start doing small meetups on these trips!!!
Ha, Bluey is the best. The whole family loves it :)
And the cabinet looks great!
JT or TJ or JR or whatever her husbands name is, he's a smart man. He got himself a hardworking creative partner and He's blessed. Also, I wouldn't mind eating some of that fancy Norther Texas food. Down here in the south we still eat Tex-Mex and BBQ, real BBQ.
I love Fort Worth and the stockyards
