Spiritual consciousness lies in the sincere internal effort to go upstream toward real lasting happiness. Many people say they are following a righteous course, but very few are really making a sincere effort. It isn't demanded of you that you be an angel all at once. Since only the Absolute is perfect, we can say that before God even the best angel is a sinner. But saints are sinners who did not give up. No matter what your difficulties, if you do not give up, you are making progress in your struggle against the stream. To struggle is to win the favour of God. You must make that supreme effort. Do not idly let life float you down the stream.

I spend many years under

1855-1936 as Yogananda! I have learned we are all aspects of God! In an earlier incarnation as Apostle John, my master was incarnated as Yeshua Ben Joseph! I have been his son or close physical son a number of time as well as a student! He taught that each human has the same birthright as he has as Yeshua, that as a son or daughter of Mother/Father God we can also raise our frequencies and ascend into a higher frequency and realm! It matters not, what religious persuasion!
I, as well, have learned to accept new truths as my light has grown lighter and brighter from incarnation to incarnation! Blessed Be!

The other choice is being a householder Yogi. That or Sanyasi is purely personal choice and depends on one's temperament. You can choose. Sanyasi don't want things of this world, they want only God and so choose the Sanyasi way to God.
