Pegasus fans don't want it to innovate. That's an influencer thing. Small changes only. If you want innovation go for the zoomfly, the turbo, the alphafly. The workhorse shoe is dying and getting replaced by max cushioning. The velocity nitro line is getting more and more stack. The pegasus and supernova are the last decent workhorse shoes left

Look at when they "innovated" endorphin speed line. Every iteration gets worse

wait till you see the NB 880v15. They added almost 10mm (10!) of stack height to over 40mm in the heel, and along with it added the weight by 1.5oz 😂
Weird that the 880, which should be new balance traditional daily trainer, is now heavier than the 1080.

I've run in three of the mentioned shoes - On Cloudmonster Hyper, Brooks Ghost 16 and Pegs 41.
Hypers are quite alright shoes, but not at that price. Ghosts 16 are just another Ghosts, a bit boring, but reliable. And Pegs? Well, I don't get why people love this shoe. It's heavy, it's stiff, just nothing special, and definitely not worth the official price.
    Good video! 🙌

Next versions of Brooks Ghost and Mizuno Wave Rider are switching from 12mm to 10mm. It is interesting they both decided to switch at the same time. Meanwhile, HOKA changing Clifton from 4mm to 8mm drop!

Two shoes I have issues with are the On CloudEclipse and New Balance SC Trainer V3. I know the CloudEclipse was out late last year, but this was my first time in a stacked/plated shoe. While I was able to run 100 miles in them, they don't work for my form. They were just a'yight. As for the SC Trainer V3, this was one of two shoes that I can recall returning in 43+ years running, because of intense dislike. Talk about strapping a Chevy Suburban to my feet! I'm not a big guy at 63" and 110-112lbs, but this shoe was a boat anchor. My SC Trainer V2's (purchased after the ON CloudEclipse) was an incredible ride experience, except for the sole wearing quickly. Looking forward to 2025, I may ditch plated shoes and stick with the Rebel V4's, 1080 V13(14) and two pairs of Rebel V3's. Once these have outlived their usefulness, I will have to figure out another rotation.

It was a fun year to try some foams with peba and max cushioning shoes. I liked these shoes a lot : SuperBlast 2, Monster Hyper and Magmax Nitro. But I prefer the classics and a bit less stack height shoes for more stability.
    My Gel-Nimbus 26 ( 460km ) , Gel-Kayano 31 ( 190km) and Wave Sky 8 (210km ) I prefer those for long runs and when I want comfort with some good bounce.
And to complete my list, my best daily trainer of the year is the Velocity Nitro 3 followed closely by the Wave Rider 27 ( just ordered my WR 28 ) and Gel-Cumulus26 . Anything with drop 8 to 12mm is my preferable and no problem running in 6mm drop shoes like a 1080v13 and Vongo v6 , but I prefer higher drop.

By the way, both Monster Hyper and Magmax Nitro lacks a lot stability and lockdown in the heel. I can use 99% of the neutral shoes as an overpronation runner . And indeed the On shoes lacks a lot of stability even if I use their shoes in my true to size. Also the big SuperBlast 2 is almost as stable for me as a Gel-Kayano 31 wile the Magmax is runnable, but it is unstable and lacks support in the heel. Just a huge base does not make tall shoes automatically super stable. Just saying.

Found a deal for On Cloudsurfer. Took them on and went for a 21k easy run straight from the box. Really comfortable shoe but for those 2h of running i had the squeak sound from the clouds driving me mental. Almost went barefoot. Returned them two days after

ON shoes have zero interest to me. I tried a Peg 41 (first time ever in a Peg) and I couldn't get past the foreign feeling of the air zoom unit under the balls of my feet. Glad I wasn't missing anything. Which surprises me since I absolutely love the air pod units in the AF / Tempo Next%, and maybe that's due to having the plate above the unit which mutes that feeling of someone putting a bean bag under the balls of your feet.

I personally disagree. I can understand why some might not like it and find it a bit firm and dull, but for the money, you can't go wrong. I've had both the VN2 and VN3 and have really liked both, personally preferring the VN3. It's my go to daily running shoe

Ha ha and Chris @ Sagasu Running! I have done more than one run in the Peg 41 LOL and in fact it has been my most used shoe this year. That said I have been restricted in my running for much of the last 6 months since I got it and found it a good shoe for some running, some run/walk, some walking and I can easily replace the stock insole with one with more arch support which was helpful at times. In this day and age I can understand why it does not appeal to many as it isn't overly soft and has a lowish to the ground feeling and 10mm drop but I have been running over 40 years now and that is exactly the type of shoe I have used as a daily trainer in that time. On the flipside we both like the Peg Plus and I found little to interest me in Andy's favourite shoe this year Mach 6. Running shoe tastes are of course very individual.
