Thomas Jane is hugely underestimated as an actor such a shame he's not in more shows.
He was originally supposed to play Rick in walking dead
@@debbiebrantley61 that would have been an excellent choice.
Playing a homeless self version of himself in Arrested Development
He made a badass Frank Castle
Stander is one of his best roles. Based on the true story of a South African policeman who became a bank robber
The tension in that drug buy scene is incredible, watched the movie so many times and every single time my anxiety goes through the roof.
Yeah it's an ALL TIME great scene. The only scene I can even think of off the top of my head that comes close is the opening to inglorious basterds.
@@TonyDanza4Lyfe yea! I couldn't eat for a couple hours because that scene put my stomach in knots!
That scene was unremarkable and so surreal, I was like what the hell is going on here!
Super underrated actor. 61, punisher, mist, boogie nights, all exceptional acting jobs.
Thursday.
Hung
Deep blue sea
The Crow City Of Angels
@@kyle2441
Hung was hilarious
Still love Thomas's work playing Mickey Mantle in "61". Amazing job
Legend has it that he still wants what’s in the goddamn fuckin floor safe.
Hahahahahaha
"In the god damn fuckin floor".
In the master bedroom, under the bed, in the floor safe. UNDERSTAND?
Lololol!
Thomas Jane absolutely NAILED that role! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I met Thomas Jayne when I was working on “The Mist” at the craft service table…I was new to the business and I didn’t recognize him..we just chatted back and forth while searching the various baskets for honey buns and granola bars…a really, really laid back and nice guy
Lol the way he trails off "those scripts dont come around too often" 😆 that's very true. Lucky to have 1 movie of that caliber a year
You mean decade. Movies like that come around once every decade or so. Plus Hollywood doesn't have tge stones to greenlight movies like Boogie Nights anymore.
I love how Rich Eisen described "Boogie Nights" as a "remote-drop movie". That's a great term!
Burt Reynolds definitely "THE LAST MOVIE STAR" 😎👍🏻
I miss knowing Burt Reynolds is somewhere out there.
He played a great Mickey Mantle in 61
Awesome in Deep Blue Sea and The Expanse.
don't fogert he played the best punisher and one of the original marvel movie characters
The firecrackers motif was taken from the movie Putney Swope directed by Robert Downey Sr. It's one of PTAs favourite movies
This. he told Downey that he was gonna steal the bit -- Downey approved
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Downey Sr for blessing the world with the man we would forever know as Iron Man
Anytime I meet someone named todd, I do the Reese voice when he enters the backyard, TODD !!!
😂 nobody ever understands it
Todd!!!
Parker???
I dont dance Sundays.
I’m like that when I hear the Scott lol
Introduce her to my lap!
I like “not now , todd” the way will ferrell says it in zoolander
Todd Parker introduced Burt Reynolds' knee to his lap..
Imagine the kismet involved in finding actors of the quality of Thomas Jane and Barry Pepper--dead ringers for Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris--to play those roles in *61. Whoever Billy Crystal's casting director was, that person deserved an Oscar.
He killed it in The Mist also!
One of my favorites… brutal ending
One of the most depressing movies I’ve ever seen!
Stephen king wrote the novel that was adapted to the movie, has never written a story that had a happy ending. The exception to that is the one with the evil clown.
Boogie Knights is a legendary movie. If you have never seen it see! It’s acted in a specific style and shot that way as well. Lots of genius happened. Do see it.
Boogie “Knights” ?? Did it take place in the Middle Ages?? 😂
One of the greatest films ever made.
@@davidashton1305no no it's the one with Batman as the Disco Detective.
My understanding is that the firecracker thing came from PTAs Dad who was a late night host in Cleveland - who often threw firecrackers during his segments. I'm from the Cleveland area and his Dad is still a legend around here.
Yep. The Ghoul, right? He would blow up a frog every Saturday and people would call in and complain every Saturday despite it being so fake.
Todd Parker was an amazing character in one of the best movies of all time. Great interview
Thomas Jane is a good actor
That's it. After watching a few of these clips lately I'm going to rewatch it again........
" ... full fuckin' race cams. Woo!" :-)
From what I've heard Burt absolutely hated filming this movie but still turned in an Unforgettable performance
I will watch anything with Thomas in it. Really underrated .
Love TJ!!!
THE only legitimate "Punisher"!!!👍
Bernthal was pretty damn good
Dolph Lungren looked the part and sounded cool. Movie was just super B-80s
As a kid, I appreciated how dark it was
His noir detective Miller on the Expanse is my favorite role of his.
loved him in movie 1922 . he nailed it there also!
That scene is so tense and unnerving cool to know the background
I worked with Thomas Jane a few years back. He’s a really cool dude!
The Yacht Rock reference at 2:39 is my go to playlist…am actually sayin this out loud?😂
I love that soundtrack ❤
Burt Reynolds said he hated making that movie because him and the director Paul Thomas Anderson fought the entire time.
Burt was too old to deal with Paul's ideas.
They may have fought, but the result is just fantastic
Yeah, it’s interesting Burt didn’t enjoy the experience. Whatever happened behind the scenes, it didn’t show on film. Burt gave an amazing performance.😎🕺
@@pedrogudino1133 Anderson wanting Burt to remove his hair piece. That didn’t go over well with Burt, who’s walked out of interviews and there’s a video online where this heckler makes fun of his hair piece while Burr is speaking to a group and Burt challenged him to come up there and say it too his face.
The best scene ever!! Burt Reynolds is one of the best. CRewe!!! CRewe!!! Put this in ur trophy case,,, longest yard
It’s true, those scripts don’t come around often. Neither does a film like that itself come around often…
Nor a 🌭
If I got kneed in the nuts by Burt Reynolds, I think I'd remember it
I know right!?!
If I got kneed in the nuts by anyone, I'd remember it.😣
I think he’s exercising a little discretion
TODD WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
I know he didn't mean it like this, but saying you "have to watch it to the conclusion" when referencing Boogie Nights makes me laugh, knowing how it concludes.
People forget that Burt Reynolds originally hated Boogie Nights and said it was a terrible film before he got nominated for an Oscar.
Jane is awesome in Boogie Nights.
Hey it’s Andre Stander!
I loved him in that shark movie
Deep Blue Sea is a pretty entertaining film.
I still think punisher to this day was one of the best punisher movies and that’s not coming from a comic book fan though so I apologize if it’s bad compared to the comics but I like it.
I swear to god I never knew that was him in that movie. I love that movie, and I have enjoyed his work elsewhere. Can't believe I never connected that it was him.
Same!
He was awesome in 'The Expanse' "Doors and Corners... that's where they get you..."
The Mian thing I know him form is the HBo Series- HUng. I thought he was great in that Series.
'Stay away from da aqua!' Agreed. He was awesome as Miller. 'Home' is possibly my favourite episode of any sci-fi series.
One of the greatest films of all time.
He was great in Stander
When Thomas grows a mustache he’s a different person!
Boogie Nights to Hung, what do they have in common?😉🌭
Thomas Jane is awesome.. He is Neal Cassady, portraying him the best in Last Time I Committed Suicide. Let's also not forget he's the masterbater dude in The Crow City Of Angels. And of course, I think he is the best Punisher
Boogie Nights to me is like a spiritual sequel to Goodfellas stylistically.
I always said BN was very influenced. Rise and fall, character gets into cocaine in 1980 and downhill starts from there.
It’s the Punisher!!!!
Hey it’s the Punisher!
Wow! We were young and hungry and good scripts don't come around that often.
I didn't even realize until now that it was Thomas Jane who played that role.
When Todd shows up to the pool party...lol.
Thee Punisher!!!
"Texas Rising" was a mini series
To think he was the first choice to play Don Draper but his agent flatly turned it down saying "Mr Jane does not do TV"!!
Correction....it wasn't his agent. He turned it down personally 😅😅😅
Great actor. Stander (2003) is a great film and his performance in boogie nights is so brilliant.
Such a tragedy he didn't do mad men, jon hamm is a cornball.
“TODD PARKER!”
I dig Eisen. I listen when I can, but if you’re sitting in that chair and you did a movie, it’s a automatic remote drop front Rich
His name is Joe GM Chan and he’s a NYC legend
I didn't even know that was him!
Handsome 😍
HUNG was a great series. Sucked that it just ended. No resolutions.
Yacht Rock for the win!
this guy hasnt aged a day!!
Should have asked about playing Mickey mantle in 61
Thomas you know Jane
Detective miller!!!
“Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey!….we want something else from you”…
Todd F’n Parker!!!!
"...two coats of Competition Orange......"
TEN coats. And remember--it's hand rubbed.
too bad i don't know which "behind the wheel" scene rich is talking about. nor remember who thomas played in the movie.
Honestly never realized that was him… Todd…
He's starting to look like James Woods
That’s unbelievable cosmo is a guy from a party 🤯
thomas looks a little like a younger ted nugent if he had the wild hair
"I just want my kids back!"
ill basically check out anything if Thomas Jane is in it. and he's in ALOT lets just say
*a lot
He also turned down playing Don Draper in Mad Men.
Fire cracker scene was a homage to the Robert Downey Sr movie Putney Swope
No it wasn't. It was strictly by accident
@@TonyDanza4Lyfe according to PT Anderson, ya know, the guy who wrote and directed the film, said so. So, yeah, it was
Nope. The scene is an obvious homage to a nearly identical scene in 1995's La Haine (Hate). That or a ripoff, though with PTA it was probably homage.
Most men do drop the remote 🤣
Full f*cking race cams.
🏎️🏎️🏎️🏎️🏎️ full competition orange
I thought his best movie was Thursday.
Best scene when Todd Parker enters the party w Drivers Seat playing then talks about the Corvette. Total 70s
Fkn Todd Parker!!
Todd. PARKER!
Hello
Wow, interesting take indeed “I think he would’ve won the Oscar if he’d taken off the toupee” Prob right. Ego can def get the best, rather worst, of all too many
I think he was half kidding at that comment, he kind of laughs when he said it. The toupee was obvious but I don't think it was distracting, but BR had a massive ego that is certainly true.
Hollywood wasn't about to reward a movie about the seedy underbelly of Hollywood -- the adult film business -- when they could reward Robin Williams for his Supporting Actor role in "Good Will Hunting" after he didn't yet should've won for "The Fisher King." Robin was great in GWH, don't get me wrong, but Burt should've gotten the Oscar for "Boogie Nights" IMHO. It's too bad he never got a Lifetime Achievement Oscar, like Peter O'Toole, before he passed away, as a kind of consolation prize honoring his better acting roles over the course of his career -- and I say this acknowledging that "Smokey and the Bandit" wasn't his best work, no matter how entertaining it may have been. His best work, that I've seen, anyway, is in "Boogie nights" and "Sharkey's Machine" -- with the original "The Longest Yard" ranking close up there.
I think if Burt Reynolds had done it without the toupee it would have been too distracting and pulled audiences out of the movie.
TIL that was Thomas Jane, not Aaron Eckhart.........
Aaron Eckharts chin dimple is much deeper🤣
Boogey Nights is a Rich Eisen obsession. Especially the Walberg in the parking lot scene for some strange reason.
False. He took the fire cracker idea from the movie Putney Swope.
Todd … PAARKER !!
He was in boogie nights?? He was great in hung.he got a face-lift..he was good in 61
Yeah he's the dude who robs the drug dealer
YES! INDIAN STYLE!!! Not fucking criss cross applesauce!!!!!
Burt Reynolds wears a toupee???😋
I still think his best movie was The Punisher movie...to me that is a drop the remote movie. Boogie Nights isn't something I cared for.
Had He Slept… In a Few Days????
