I saw a new 17 raptor in person for the first time today. I am a die-hard RAM and Chevy guy but... Im telling you that the videos and pictures don't do it justice. I am going to buy a Raptor lol
There is nothing about this truck I dislike, I just miss the V8 rumble.

Tim Rux the V6 still sounds bad ass not many companies know how to make a V6 sound nice and this thing produces 450hp!! Really shows you how smart Ford is becoming. Yes the V8 is one amazing engine but dam do they waste a hell of alot of gas lol

Who cares how many cylinders, when you have 450 hp and 525 tq.
mike levesque It's artificial and the boost is cranked way up. It's not a question of the power, it's how long will that setup last? That engine will not handle that abuse for as long as a V8

Ya know I love the sound of the V8 just as much as the next guy, but that new 3.5 Ecoboost sounds good, real good! Augmented sound or not Ford did an amazing job and if anything it just needs to be louder. If I owned one the Flowmaster Outlaws would be my 1st mod! 😁

I just bought a 2017 Supercrew Raptor, picked it up last Saturday. I LOVE this truck, and even more surprisingly my wife loves this truck. This is possibly as fun as my 2015 F80 M3 albeit in a different way. It is comfortable, well built, quiet and just overall the best truck I've ever been in. I love, love, love this truck and I don't know if anyone could have done a better job building a fun, exciting truck. I love this truck.

That speaker system is really cranking out that oh so sweet synthetic V6 turbo charge sound.
corvette doesn't have fake sound, it has an exhaust with valves that open and close though! Glad ford guys know their stuff

This Turbo charged engine is powerful and light, which is perfect for off-road, if you want the V8 u can get it in the F150 or F250
I like how this engineer doubles as a navigator as week he did a good job

He says "all the top of the line sports cars have engine sound enhancement" But that doesn't excuse the fact that its distracting in those cars as well, most people get that feature disabled even.
Great to see what the Raptor is capable of and sounds awesome, just need to find a sandy desert near Calgary. PS doubt if I would drive it hard off road especially after spending over $90K CND.

@TFL -- Just to confirm - it's a front limited slip (Torsen) and rear open/locker? Were you driving this course with the rear diff. Open or locked?
To all you complainers ford put the twin v6 in it because it's hell of a lot lighter than the v8 is and the raptor is about getting up their fast and speed and the twin v6 will do it

Nice! needs a more overview (sound) of the anti lag when they send you a press truck. just tooling around varying the throttle
adding the paddle shifters was awesome but they had to improve the shift time to less than 2 seconds
Thought I was going to purchase a new WRX next summer, but may have to save for another year and purchase one of these. Normally use older trucks for yard work and off-road adventures.
Does a day in Borrego Springs come included with a Raptor purchase? Looks like fun! Not far from my hometown. 3 requests Roman : (1) Once you've completed your test drives and uploaded you drive videos, can we get a 7 min review, overall impressions, strengths/weaknesses, etc, not a recap of Raptor specs, just your thoughts on the truck (2) video of as many different color Raptors, I'm interested in seeing how they all look so perhaps a quick walk through the parking lot staging area? (3) Will this be a limited production vehicle or not? The 1st gen was some dealers are claiming the 2017's will be limited to current allocation, others claim this is an initial allocation with full production to meet demand forthcoming. Thank you TFL!

Looks like they are running Summit Road off of Red Cloud Mine exit on I-10, east of Joshua Tree National Park. That set of train tracks goes to Eagle Mountain.
I've gotten our 2010 RR sport supercharged up to 90 on a loose gravel road until it started sliding.
70k is fair bit of jingle to hardcore off Rd in. I know they start at 50 but I've never seen a raptor not fully loaded

That windshield camera being tilted is so amateur guys. otherwise, good driving Roman and nice job Ford. Should have twin turbo'd the V8 though.
Was the ride as smooth as it looks? Watching Roman in the driver's seat, it looked like he had a smoother ride off road in the Raptor than you get in some sports cars on pavement!

From what I have read the KO2s are trash in the wet and rain and hydroplane a lot.
Any comments on that TFL?
I have them on a jeep 35's and they are very good in everything, moab rock crawling, Snow, sand. My buddy has the stock bfg mud terrain tires on his jeep and the k02's are better in everything we have tested except mud, self cleaning on the k02's is not that great.
I have them on a 2013 Raptor and they suck in the wet. the old ones were much better and tread wear was better too

Dalton Hill Dude apples to oranges. The gtr is a car made by Nissan a foreign company that does imports and makes predominantly V6 engines . The raptor is a truck sold by an American made company that historically does v8 engines really well. You think truck you think power and big engines you think gtr you think power coupled with top tier engineering giving you ungodly performance.

I've owned an ecoboost and delt it in for 5.0 a d I love the sound of power again, Ford may loose sales on this 100g tick for the fact they don't offer a supercharged or twin turbo v8. I like the eco and the 10spd idea but I don't like the fake sound thru the speakers, I'll stick with my 16 5.0 and supercharge it someday.

Wasn't the old Raptor advertised as 100 mph off road? What is the max speed for this one? And what is the jump speed?

The Raptor is a desert runner. This is how to compare the Raptor and TRX. The TRX wins the drag race. That aside I wager that both trucks are the equal of each and it comes down to personal preference. I do like that the Ford has plenty of power and is lighter weight.
