Brother THANK YOU !!! My wife was driving my truck, was late and decided to skip the 5 mins to fuel up.... I had to drive 2 hours to come get this thing going. I messed with it changed fuel filter, primed bowl, turned valve under bowl trying to drain air.... nothing. Saw your video and didn't have an air compressor on me, was going to go get one, I decided to just open fuel tank cap and just see if it would prime easier being opened on other side before getting compressor, fired right up on the second start!!!! Thought maybe vapor locked at tank too??? I'll remember the compressor fix. Lord willing there will not be a second time! Thanks again!

I am going to try this Tom but my problem with all my other diesels are from like the injector pump to the injectors but it will Prime from the filter housing to injectors no problem?
This happened to one of my friends in her dads truck it would start but it wouldn’t idle so she feathered the throttle to keep it running. Once we got it moving and on to the road she floored it a few times and then it ran normally again. I’m no expert on this engine but if anyone knows I’d like to know if that could have caused any kind of damage.
It sealed the fill hole that’s why I used it or you can use a rag that’s how I prime snowmobile fuel pumps rag and airline in the tank to prime the pump and carbs
I know this is an old video, but having a similar issue. I’m getting voltage to my fuel pump but I don’t hear it running when I cycle the key. I tried to manually prime it by hooking up a hose to the inlet and filling the line with diesel, still no go. I even swapped the pump with a backup and it ran for maybe 3 seconds then the pump went quiet again. I just ordered a new fuel pump, but am now wondering if your air hose trick would get the pump running. Did you hear your fuel pump running and it just wasn’t getting fuel to the bowl? Or was it silent like mine is?
The pump will run but not sure on quietly but I do know that it will not push the fuel up to the bowl by its itself when it looses prime That’s why I pressurized the tank to push the fuel up

I got same problem. I dropped tank and cleaned the 2 small filters in the fuel sending unit inside the tank. Hooked it all up. Went to start it and IM NOT GETTING FUEL TO MY FUEL BOWL. I spend 10 hours (man I was upset). Were you not getting fuel into fuel bowl also?
Paul K I i took my fuel tank out to clean it as will and the no fuel In fuel bowl so I fill it up and closed it and started right up and stayed started but runs rough. I think there’s air in the lines dose anyone know how to bleed or get the air out
Aj Jeha is it still running rough? I think it’ll self prime or purge air out if you run it a bit. I did all that but my electric fuel pump pretty much primed everything once I turned key on/off few times then it started right up

Amazon has tapered silicone plugs that will seal tightly , you will have to punch a hole through the plug .

Do you need a old shock bushing ? Can’t you just put air in it
