- In this video, I explain ALL of the content required for the "Gene Mutations" section for AQA A Level Biology (A2). This includes: substitutions, insertions/deletions, inversions, duplications, translocations and the causes of mutations. Time stamps are in the comments.
I also go through a few exam questions and explain the mark schemes.
The content in this video crosses over with other exam boards too.
Please leave a comment if you have any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them!!! :)

For the question at 19:11, is it correct to say that frame shift of bases could lead to loss of a triplet?
@@aaronnanoo1887 Hi, it's actually the other way round! So a loss of a triplet would cause a frameshift
You are GEM, keep making videos for A level
Appreciated highkey! Thank you!
Thank you so much for these video ❤❤
3:25 what are the bases in the left from, please? Are they the coding strand? If so the complementary base sequence is AAA And AAU. Not UUU And UUA. I.e. They code for lys and asn. The ones in table from mRNA which is complementary to coding strand.
Hi sorry for the confusion. I was saying what the sequences on the left would be if they were mRNA sequences :)
So is it tRNA that have uracil instead of thymine?
@@otps8035any type of RNA! mRNA, tRNA etc.
thanks video was very helpful
At 20:22 would I get a mark for saying 3 bases are deleted? Thank youuu
