When Lip started to yell , he sounded exactly like Fiona when she was arguing with Frank . I think that in that moment she realised she is guilty and on the same path of destruction as Frank as a bad parent/guardian .
Jeremy and Emmy have amazing chemistry together. I totally believe them as siblings and partners here. I love how Lip is telling Fiona that he can hold down the fort for three months but he CANNOT fill in for five years. And I understand Fiona, she's worked her ass off to take care of everyone and she makes ONE mistake so of course she is going to deny it as long as she can. These two are phenomenal.
It was so stupid to think she'd have a chance in trial. The prosecution would skin her alive in the courtroom. The jury and judge would have zero empathy for her.
+Joe Acosta I think Fiona is always trying to be so strong, brave and supportive for her family, yet sometimes she does really bad choices (the drugs, the cheating...). It only reminds us how human she is. She can't be perfect.
oh shut the fuck up, CHEATING? FUCKING CHEATING? People who are disgusting fucks are the ones who cheat. You don't have to be perfect to understand it's wrong. She let herself get fingered on the subway
"And that was you, all fucking you, your coke, your boyfriend, your fucked up life, not mine!!!!!!" You can see how terrified Lip is in this moment, the silver of fear in his eyes beneath all the blame that he has for his sister, he is terrified, terrified of having to switch roles and take her place and becoming her and having her life if she leaves.
People just love to forget that Fiona is a piece of garbage lmfao. She became legal guardian then threatened to kick them out for not following her rules.
She only did this really after they all started making horrible decisions. From her POV, taking care of everyone since she was 9, raising them like her own, it was a slap in the face. When Debbie got pregnant deliberately, Fiona wasn't having ANY of it. She knew right then and there that Debbie chose to do this and that it wasn't an accident. Lip practically dropped out of school completely. Carl was dealing drugs essentially at this time. Can't remember what Ian did around this point, to me he's kind of in and out. Another thing that people keep forgetting is that Fiona is their sister not their mother. She is still a "kid" in the sense that she has never had a real childhood growing up. Her siblings always came first and now she wants to put herself first. And after that little comment Lip made about her not amounting to anything, that only put the nail in the coffin.
People wanna talk about how harsh Lip was, but he was speaking the truth! Fi was really thinking she could take this shit to trial and win! We all know they would have thrown the book at her! No one in that courtroom would have had an ounce of sympathy for her. That's what Lip was trying to tell her. She literally refused to take responsibility for the fact that she nearly killed Liam, but Lip is the bad guy for pointing it out....
Acting as if they’ve never done anything awful, what she did was bad very bad but she’s not the only one to blame, they all let Liam slip past them, yes it was Fiona’s responsibility but the fact of the matter is, she’s been there for them every time they’ve done something extremely terrible, and the one time she does something bad they turn their backs on Fiona. She was in the wrong but not entirely
I love Fiona, she's my favorite character in the show, and I was very surprised when I discovered that many of the fans didn't like her, because i think she was amazing in most of the show. But this time, when Liam ate coke, I really almost hated her. Her mistake wasn't to have turned her back for two seconds like she said, the mistake was to have coke at home, where lots of children lives, and she is responsible for these children. I found it important that Lip had exploded with her, because until then she wasn't acting like the wrong person in the situation, and was only worried about her sentence. And Lip, we can see his fear that he would have to drop school and take Fiona's responsibility, and it broke my heart, because no one wants this for himself.
This was the moment where Lip became my favourite character. Yes his opinion isn't without some hypocrisy... but holy fuck you can see how enraged he is by the entire situation. I think this show easily has the best child/young adult actors I've ever seen.
I feel bad for Fiona. This was her fault and shit but it's like she's still a child herself. All of them have had their time to be selfish. Fiona's life is taking care of them and the cleaning up the destruction of their parents. It's sad. Fiona deserves a break.
Even though it was Fiona's fault, I still felt bad for her. She's never done anything wrong and the one time she does, her whole life comes tumbling down. Plus it's not like she's a bad person, she just made a bad choice.
Jeremy Allen White *Lip* IS SO AMAZING. I really think he's underrated. Everyone makes such a big deal about Emmy Rossum. But, I think Jeremy should be getting the pay raise lol. I feel like he carries every scene so well. You get sucked in. I just think he's such a good actor.
I totally understand how Lip felt here. What happend to Liam was Fionas fault and she has to accept that. I know that Fionas life is hard and she always had to be there for her siblings but how she acts in the time after liams accident just pisses me off.
Alvin S Fiona is an alpha female, and she has stepped up for her family. She is a strong woman, but lip is beta male. He shows promise but realistically he can't handle being a alpha male. He is always digging at Fiona and she lets it slide.
Not recently. Fiona is leaving them all to take care of themselves cause she can't handle taking care of them and making a life for herself at the same time. Lip isn't abnormal for thinking it's too much responsibility to thrust onto someone else's shoulders.
It because his face becomes red and facial muscles are more exposed leaving the jaw and cheekbone lines more symetrical and rugish his hair coeesponds youth as it is long and up and his choice to fight in fight or flight mode leave the impression of protection in crisis
This was the very scene that I saw on Facebook for the first time, gave me massive goosebumps, had no idea what the show was but someone mentioned the name of it in the comments, and that was how I as started this awesome series
Something I noticed about Fiona is that she can go toe to toe with literally anyone, big or small, no matter how dangerous or rude, and she won’t back down. But when one of her siblings yells at her, she visibly flinches back.
Lip is such a great fucking actor his feelings through out all these seasons are so relatable to every human being. At some point you can actually say "I know how he feels"
This really showed Jeremy Allen White's ability to fully dive into character, you can even see Emmy Rossum is shook when he really gets close to her. I'm sure for a split second there she was thinking "fuck, are we still acting here?".
The fact that Fiona really thought she wasn't guilty of Liam's overdose because her INTENTIONS weren't there, really showed what a horrible person she could be. I guess she inherited that from Frank.
I hated Fiona so much during this part of the season, how she just refuse to accept that it was her fault Liam almost died. Lip just become more awesome when he stepped up to fill in and it also made me sad to see all that pressure heaped on his shoulders so suddenly. :')
Lol excactly as Fiona said she has the responsibility of those kids for so many years and she turned her back for 2 secs and she's guilty... How is that fair?! Tbh all I see in this scene (and the scene when Monica steals their money) is Lip bitching about the possibility of having to taje care of his siblings, something Fiona has been doing for her whole life. Who is selfish now, Lip?!
It's not Fiona's fault. Maybe if they'd stop dumping all the responsibility on her she wouldn't have had the party, she never gets to have fun. And it was an accident, I could understand if she tried to stuff it up his nose, Fiona didn't try to kill Liam, the drugs almost killed him. Sure, someone should have been watching him but nobody thinks of everything.
+Misspixelwolf =) Yeah i feel you but dammit responsibility aint fair. It wasnt Lips responsibility to watch the powder around the baby. Alot of times its not about whats fair, its about taking care of your responsibilities, that child depends on Fiona not Lip.
Fiona was wrong she shouldn't have had that out around a kid but I feel that Lip was more afraid of switching roles and having to take care of everyone like Fiona has so in a way Lip is very selfish and is more afraid having to do Fionas part for a little while if she ends uo in jail. Fionas life isn't easy she never gets time for herself everywhere she turns she has a kid on her lap Fiona signed up to be their guardian so the family can stick together and not seperate doesn't mean they all can't pitch in and help her as well with babysitting the moment she goes out they make her out to be like shes a bad person bc shes not babysitting everybody for once. Lip knows how difficult her life is taking care of everybody but he doesn't care as long as he doesn't have to do it.
I would like to point out for everyone thinking Lip is unfair for not wanting to switch role. He never asked for or agreed to this. Fiona signed guardian papers and new that she had until Liam turn 18 before she wouldn't have to play mom anymore. She was given the choice to not do it, and Lip even told she didn't have to. She signed up for this and its not fair but she did, then she messed it up. This wasn't a justifiable accident she left drugs where a toddler could get to them after telling a judge and everyone she was better for the kids than Frank. She did this, she asked for this. So its not fair Lip gets to back out but its excusable because he is not the one who went to court and fought tooth and nail for the kids, claiming to be better for them. And of course Fiona is a far cry better for them then Frank, but she messed up and she needs to face the reality that she almost killed her baby brother. She should claim guilty cause Lip is right, she is. Simple and plain, plus all the adults who were there with the drugs and a baby are terrible adults.
Fi needed 38 credits to finish. She already had interruptions in her education behind F&M . Being split up and sent to foster care. She is smart but doesn't have Lip's aptitude for learning.
fourthgirl lol sooooo? Since she's not as smart as lip (which most people aren't) you don't think she would have graduated high school if she actually had the time to attend like the rest of them?
What made me mad about the whole situation was that not only did Fiona keep the Coke from the guy that she's been supposedly doing her best to avoid but when she decided to snort it she does it in her house with the kids, then her actually believing she could win in trial even though she would've gotten a lot of time anyway just for having the Coke alone itself
No matter what anyone says, lip was in the right here. A mistake that almost killed your brother isn’t just a ‘mistake’ people say lip was out of line, he wasn’t. He hasn’t seen Fiona as a sister in years, she’s always been the mother to everyone, her mistakes hit everyone harder than they should.
Deep down, Lip and the other kids will always be grateful to Fiona for what she's done and sacrificed for them but they will never want to have to do the same.
It blows my mind how people are taking Fiona’s side on this saying “lip is freaking out and can’t handle Fiona’s responsibilities” ect. The guy has every right to feel that way, if he stays and takes care of the kids he’s pissing away all of his schooling for a mistake that Fiona made guys lol. Fiona May be be good at taking care of the kids but when she decides to “live a little” she goes completely overboard. Not to mention Fiona isn’t near as book smart as lip and barely even got her GED. She doesn’t have a potentially bright future ahead of her like lip has, it’s sad but it’s the truth.
I’m not taking Fiona’s side here because this situation was her fault and she should have put Liam in a play pen or kept her eyes on him but we also need to recognize that the show has repeatedly expressed Fiona did have a chance at a future but she had to give it up to raise five younger kids that she didn’t have or even really ask for. Yes, Lip and Ian helped a little but the one who did most of the work was Fiona and has always been Fiona, something Monica and Frank have both acknowledged. Lip shouldn’t have to give up his life for the family but people should recognize Fiona gave up her life a long time ago, basically from when Carl and Debbie were born onward. Fiona is just as smart as Lip is but she hasn’t been afforded the opportunity to be shielded from the responsibility of being the family’s caretaker like Lip was due to Fiona.
She was so dumb for even thinking she had a shot in trial. Lip was angry because he was frustrated Fiona was not willing to listen and accept she’s wrong. He knew she would lose immediately if she went to trial.
this show is so powerful in a way that you feel sympathy for the characters but as it so raw you just have to let them get on with it as its their actions at fault
She has all this pent up energy inside of her to want to have a life of her own and for the longest time, her needs were never met. Lip realizes how much they've taken her for granted and gets to take a walk in her shoes. She lets her pride consume her because she's at an all-time low and it blinds her to the fact that she could become the next Frank or Monica. For once, Lip has to be the eldest sibling and tell her where she went wrong. The one person he could always trust majorly screws up and puts their baby brother in danger. Now all the responsibility falls on his shoulders.
When he said so that makes me 25 still at home taking care of the kids, yeah well Fiona has been doing that and will be doing thay until Liam is 18. Lip pisses me off so much in this series acting high and mighty all the time. Fiona was absolutely in the wrong with the coke and there is no excuse for it. But she did say yes I'm making it about me because it's never about me and that is a true statement.
For everyone saying lip couldn’t handle it which is why he was mad I don’t think that’s why I think it’s because he needed to give her a good reality check things would’ve gone sooooo bad if she pled not guilty
I really liked this scene. You really get to dive in the characters psychosis. I don't think this scene was so much as blame and pointing fingers I think it was more about the individual character(s) psyche, mainly Fiona. The acting was spot on as well kudos. 👍 Fun Fact: As of today I've been watching this show for roughly two weeks now and I am up to this exact episode. It's truly a phenomenal show so far. I am excited to see what's to come.
She needed to hear it. It doesn't matter of it was accidental. She of course had no malicious intention; but nevertheless allowed a lethal and illegal substance into her home instead of getting rid of it. She became their guardian to keep them permanently out of foster care but doesn't always think things through or ask the kids' opinions about it. They are adrenaline junkies, they grow up with no respect for the law or right and wrong and they wonder why their lives are such a mess. In this scene, her pride gets in the way because she's always having to put herself last and doesn't want to admit she's guilty. But luckily it turned out in the end.
I really hate how they start treating Fiona after Liam's accident. Not just the family, but everyone around her. I do believe she was guilty in some aspects but still, it was an irresponsible accident. Yes, she left the coke lying around which led him to get into it but when the ambulance arrived, she was 100% honest with them about what happened and was clearly scared. It's not like she sat back and kept partying or getting drunk/high. She does feel like shit for the situation. Although it was a huge mistake and accident, It's unfair how she gets no room to change over the situation. People automatically make her the villain and push her away
The problem with Fiona in later seasons is she become a self centered drug addict, yes she has had it hard and taken care of the family but that was her choice and she didn’t have to do that plus she had a chance to go with Steve to rio and let lip take over but she didn’t, shes left hard drugs out in house full of children, done drugs, cheated and become a addict who doesn’t care about anyone but herself.
Hasn’t she been taking care of them since she was like 5 ? He’s complaining about 5 years? Not that he doesn’t have a right to be pissed. She’s not really taking the situation seriously. But she gave up her life for those kids.
Even the lip was telling the truth it wasn't because he was fully concerned about Liam what he was fully concerned as about was he would be stuck with Fiona's job of taking care of the family
you see i thought the best moment of acting was lip when he said that it was not mine the fear of taking over fionas life but it wasn't. its the moment you see in Fiona's face after which makes the scene the realisation of knowing that your frightened to be me your frightened of being able to do everything i done or you thats what makes this moment
One thing I dislike about Fiona is she refuses to understand whebbshe became their guardian recognized by the court she became a parent to all the kids until they are adults. So it can't be about her any more like as they grow up and move out it gets easier but she signed her single young bachelorette party days away when she agreed to raise them and now she's trying to live independently like that never happened. Lip didn't sign those papers and while he can help he's not guardian and doesn't have too
the acting is too fucking good just give them all the awards already
AdeleDbt. YES YES 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
AdeleDbt especially lip. Tbh I fucking love it when he snaps he’s an asshole when he needs to be.
"Liam almost DIED!" i get goosebumbs every time....Jeremy Allen White and Emmy Rossum are AMAZING actors! Also the rest of the Shameless Cast
He can’t handle what Fiona has been doing their entire lives and gets pissy about it after like a week. He’s an asshole lol.
Andy Lichtenstein no he was giving a reality check at this time he had a lot going for him
And this is way more than a regular week
Best cast of all time!!
@James Pasqualone-McMullen someone finally gets it
Debbie and Carl are kinda cringy
This is one of my favorite scenes. Made me realize how much I care about these characters. Also both White & Rossum really bring their A-game.
Same! My second favorite scene was when Liam found the money they saved up all gone. They are such good actors! :D
the way she flinched when he yelled got to me
I felt bad...
Lip is the only one who can penetrate those walls Fiona puts up.
Same 😔
Christian Hoffmann dont say it like that 😂
I didn’t like it at all he went way to far yes she fucked up but lip didn’t need to get in her face and scream at her she was legit scared of him
When Lip started to yell , he sounded exactly like Fiona when she was arguing with Frank . I think that in that moment she realised she is guilty and on the same path of destruction as Frank as a bad parent/guardian .
They freaking KILLED this scene. So amazing.

I love Shameless! This series has an incredible cast of actors. Emmy Rossum is amazing.
omg yes they need to win awards

"And that was you, all fucking you, your coke, your boyfriend, your fucked up life, not mine!!!!!!" Tyler Fries did you really watch the show? How can you think she's garbage? She's human, she's going through hard stuff. She needs a break sometimes

Why hasnt emmy rossum got an emmy yet? She's phenomenal
not emmy phenomenal. she's good - she could be nominated tho
NunommS you tried it bitch.
Jessica Posey the whole cast is
I feel bad for Fiona. This was her fault and shit but it's like she's still a child herself. All of them have had their time to be selfish. Fiona's life is taking care of them and the cleaning up the destruction of their parents. It's sad. Fiona deserves a break.

oh shut the fuck up, she opens her legs as much as someone changes underwear. she almost fucking killed liam
3ztrellaR shut the hell up you just felt like commenting some stupid shit
TheKingsHeree naaah I'm right and you know it
3ztrellaR Not at all man.
Fantastic scene.

Morgan Berner im still trying to figure out how is it her fault??
lifeaskendall lol, it was her fault.
Morgan Berner Fiona is a slut
kendallslife how about the COCAINE she left out in a house with children in it
Morgan Berner i guess you failed to remember the party gig situation and the personal property tac

Amazing scene. I played it for an acting class, it was an honor to try to follow these two.
Lip finally gets a taste of what Fiona as been doing for them all these years and he cant handle it.
Alvin S no, its her fault for leaving drugs out infront of a kid
Both of you are right!

I love Lip's role -Jeremy ALLen White💋
Omg the acting from Jeremy Allen White.. he was born to play Lip, no one else could ever play him!
Best scene in the entire show. And honestly some of the best prime time acting of all time.
this season was the bomb

Something I noticed about Fiona is that she can go toe to toe with literally anyone, big or small, no matter how dangerous or rude, and she won’t back down. But when one of her siblings yells at her, she visibly flinches back.

Man... this Show hits hard... Jeremy Allen White and Emmy Rossum are unbelievable amazing Actors!
These kind of scenes with fiona and lip are messing with me everytime.
The way her expression changed and the way she flinched just got me
This really showed Jeremy Allen White's ability to fully dive into character, you can even see Emmy Rossum is shook when he really gets close to her. I'm sure for a split second there she was thinking "fuck, are we still acting here?".
The fact that Fiona really thought she wasn't guilty of Liam's overdose because her INTENTIONS weren't there, really showed what a horrible person she could be. I guess she inherited that from Frank.

She should claim guilty cause Lip is right, she is. Simple and plain, plus all the adults who were there with the drugs and a baby are terrible adults.
well, fiona dropped out of high school for you, lip. just saying.
she wasnt gonna finish anyway
+3ztrellaR and you know that how. if frank hadn't left her with 5 kids she'd probably could have been a fucking mechanical engineer
Taylor Silverthorne lmaaaaaao sureeee, careful with the cussing, Dont wanna hurt yourself, you edgy warrior
Lip has every right to be mad. Fiona was incredibly irresponsible with what happened to Liam. Surprised Mike even bailed her out tbh
I love these characters so much and I miss them interacting with each other on this level in the last few seasons.
Lip is not perfect but he made fiona realize that she needs to accept what she did.
Fiona fans: “ShE rAiSeD tHeM!!!!”
I remember playing this scene over and over
In this scene he was being honest .
Lip is still the best character
Que cena linda.
😍😍😍
I liked this part when Lip puts Fiona in her place and to face reality.
Awesome scene...
They played this part so well
Fiona , Lip, and Frank are the top three best actors on this show
Mckenzie Payne also Ian
RIGHT?! Like, I love the girl, but she SCREWED UP. I don't know why it's so hard for people to admit that.
Fiona is just as smart as Lip is but she hasn’t been afforded the opportunity to be shielded from the responsibility of being the family’s caretaker like Lip was due to Fiona.
great acting
90 days that's generous Lip is the Coolest
Holy shit good acting
She was so dumb for even thinking she had a shot in trial. Lip was angry because he was frustrated Fiona was not willing to listen and accept she’s wrong. He knew she would lose immediately if she went to trial.
Every argument lip and Fiona have lip just crushes her in every argument
these guys play soooo so so so fucking good
this show is so powerful in a way that you feel sympathy for the characters but as it so raw you just have to let them get on with it as its their actions at fault
Season 4 was the height of Shameless imo
I know its kind weird now but these actors have so much chemistry I just wanna see them in a movie together as a couple
LOL
When he said so that makes me 25 still at home taking care of the kids, yeah well Fiona has been doing that and will be doing thay until Liam is 18. Lip pisses me off so much in this series acting high and mighty all the time. Fiona was absolutely in the wrong with the coke and there is no excuse for it. But she did say yes I'm making it about me because it's never about me and that is a true statement.
I love Fiona 💙
For everyone saying lip couldn’t handle it which is why he was mad I don’t think that’s why I think it’s because he needed to give her a good reality check things would’ve gone sooooo bad if she pled not guilty
I love Shameless
I really liked this scene. You really get to dive in the characters psychosis. I don't think this scene was so much as blame and pointing fingers I think it was more about the individual character(s) psyche, mainly Fiona. The acting was spot on as well kudos. 👍
Fun Fact: As of today I've been watching this show for roughly two weeks now and I am up to this exact episode. It's truly a phenomenal show so far. I am excited to see what's to come.
Y’all remember when lip was so determined to quit school he left the house 🧐
She needed to hear it. It doesn't matter of it was accidental. She of course had no malicious intention; but nevertheless allowed a lethal and illegal substance into her home instead of getting rid of it. She became their guardian to keep them permanently out of foster care but doesn't always think things through or ask the kids' opinions about it. They are adrenaline junkies, they grow up with no respect for the law or right and wrong and they wonder why their lives are such a mess. In this scene, her pride gets in the way because she's always having to put herself last and doesn't want to admit she's guilty. But luckily it turned out in the end.
Ugh Lip 😍😍😍😍😍😍 And Ian And Eventually Carl Got There Ugh Lol😍😘
Lip is in the right here.
No matter if it was an accident or not, it happened.
I've been in Lip's shoes in this instance it's a shitty situation and I felt for him when I saw this
I really hate how they start treating Fiona after Liam's accident.
The problem with Fiona in later seasons is she become a self centered drug addict, yes she has had it hard and taken care of the family but that was her choice and she didn’t have to do that plus she had a chance to go with Steve to rio and let lip take over but she didn’t, shes left hard drugs out in house full of children, done drugs, cheated and become a addict who doesn’t care about anyone but herself.
even through they are in the middle of yelling at each other and are pissed they have to over look that and just go upstairs!!!
I honestly agree with lip...
Well, Fi deserved it, she almost killed their brother.. common sense
The cheating and the coke thing is what i hate most about Fiona
Is there an interview where this two explain how and what they were feeling recording this ???
Lip always goin off on Fiona everytime she slips up
Hasn’t she been taking care of them since she was like 5 ? He’s complaining about 5 years? Not that he doesn’t have a right to be pissed. She’s not really taking the situation seriously. But she gave up her life for those kids.
Fioan signed up lip became leader by default **
It’s like Lip has to give Fiona a lecture at some point every season.
Even the lip was telling the truth it wasn't because he was fully concerned about Liam what he was fully concerned as about was he would be stuck with Fiona's job of taking care of the family
Did she actually think she was gonna win this argument lol
Sabes onde eu posso assistir a serie ? N acho em lugar nenhum
you see i thought the best moment of acting was lip when he said that it was not mine the fear of taking over fionas life but it wasn't. its the moment you see in Fiona's face after which makes the scene the realisation of knowing that your frightened to be me your frightened of being able to do everything i done or you thats what makes this moment
that sigh said more then a 100 words did
One thing I dislike about Fiona is she refuses to understand whebbshe became their guardian recognized by the court she became a parent to all the kids until they are adults. So it can't be about her any more like as they grow up and move out it gets easier but she signed her single young bachelorette party days away when she agreed to raise them and now she's trying to live independently like that never happened. Lip didn't sign those papers and while he can help he's not guardian and doesn't have too
