I hate when Fiona makes a mistake and the family ,especially Lip, crucifies her like she’s not allowed to make mistakes when she’s the reason they are still together
Also, I think it’s because yeah she is their sister but She raised them, so they see her as parent, and kids don’t typically see parents or even understand they make mistakes.
Chloe Webb is one of the best but underrated actors ever. Every role, she makes you feel her characters’ pain. And it is painful to watch her because of it. Her portrayal of Monica makes me want to slap her for being so neglectful or give her a hug for what she went through. She is one of my favorite actors.
The part that showed how little Monica and frank cared about their children or at least how little they cared about them compared to their own "problems" was in the first season when Monica appeared for the first time. They were so fixated in their own world with their own problems to acknowledge the fact that Ian wasnt frank s son, that liam shouldnt be separated from their family or even that fiona had to deal with the consequences of their messes. Nuh uh all those two think most of the times is *me me me me me me me me me me*
Yea but that trauma travels, and in that scene when Fiona says "you're here, I'm done" and leaves, that was INCREDIBLY selfish. Imagine being carl or debbi and thinking "holy fuck the only one who took care of us is LEAVING us with her?" That would've been terrifying. Really all the Gallagher's thru out the series, are all incredibly selfish sometimes - it's the human condition, but they struggle against it; Monica and Frank tho, you're right they gave up on attempting to be good people
Its rare Americans can make a decent version of an English tv show but they nailed this 👌 shameless US and UK is just bat shit crazy and I love them both
I just love how even after coming out to not only his very closest friends he still didn't change the core of himself, he was still that hard ass, just an accepting hard ass
It’s a conflicting feeling watching Ian seek comfort in Monica. I do not have bipolar disorder, nor am I saying this is a very accurate depiction of how it looks/acts, but watching Ian and Monica embrace each other because of their illness makes me feel complex emotions. What could I do to help? How would I empathize with the level of understanding I have? I don’t think I pity them, but I’m disappointed at how I myself probably wouldn’t know what to do or how to navigate around that situation.
It’s a little embellished to make for tv and story telling but yea, that’s pretty much it. The manic episodes where the whole world is their oyster and next thing you know they’ve spent all the money and the couch is in the kitchen, yep. Then the next day they’re laying in bed in the deepest of deep depressions and crippling anxiety, that’s it. I was with someone for 9 years like this. Takes a very patient person to love this person.
as someone with a stepmom that was bipolar, I'd say it's pretty damn accurate. Only difference between the 2 of them is my stepmom (presumably) wasn't on drugs and had a good enough income to maintain the money she pissed away. The being as nice as can be, to depressed, to a crazy bitch all within the same day is pretty damn accurate though. Honestly in some ways Monica isn't as bad. At least she never tried to light the house on fire.
Chills... 18:44 have a look at the only clean and tidy place in that shot. Now think about what happens there soon after... wonder if that was staged on purpose
It's always been very hard for me to enjoy this show because I grew up in a very similar...eerily similar situation...and it just triggers me so I always just I just can't handle it
Shameless get that bag!!! I'm still job hunting!!! I went to five guys for my job interview the other day and they texted me to cancel!!! Back to the drawing board!!! I'm sure I'll have a job by Thursday
I never understood the intro of the show, saying how great things are now and you should appreciate it, when all they talk about is how much they hate being poor, but I think the intro was reffering to the time before Fiona was old enough to get a job, and things were like that story Fiona said in the custody hearing, when she was 5 or 6 and held Ian or Lip as a baby when they had a fever and Frank showed up to the hospital to ask for money. The time in the show was a golden age in the family, things were better than they use to be, we just never saw the worse parts. And then the family falls apart later, and you feel like, ya i guess everything was always going to end up like this, but when you think about where they came from and where they started at the beginning of the show, they really just could have kept it up . Maybe at one point it wasn't so crazy when they were at the Patsy's diner, celebrating Lip getting into College, and Fiona said to Carl he could go to college too
@@chaosspy6723 lol pipe down francis, we get it youve been touched n thats all you look for now, but were talkin about main characters not minor onces that never returned.
@4:35 what Fiona did right there was almost as hurtful as Monica, really. I've actually been in a situation like that sort of, and when the other only parental figure says "well fuck you, youre here, YOU raise 'em!! I'm out" That abandonment hurts so much more than the first walk out. Like carl and Liam and Debbie don't even remember Monicas leaving, but they'll all always remember when Fiona basically used them, their safety and their security as a 'fuck you' and walked away not from mental illness, but just to stick it to her mom.

yes but one of the part where she almost killed liam is deserved it is an accident but it could be 100 percent prevented
Also, I think it’s because yeah she is their sister but She raised them, so they see her as parent, and kids don’t typically see parents or even understand they make mistakes.
The way frank just sat down very quickly

Fiona was just a kid herself when she was saddled with caring for her siblings. That is why she is always so stressed. Forced to grow up too fast.

She's a real one
The fact frank was literally smoking on that grammy pack😭
