It's crazy how the scene ended. Who she used to be (Lip) walking out the door and who she's becoming (Frank) walking in the door, while she sits in the middle. Visually that was an awesome way to show her past and her future because right now she is at the precipice and her next decision will determine who she will become.
@Steven Wade so when i go to my mothers house for a visit or living with her they not supposed to cook me dinner when i study for college? Or bring me stuff when I'm sick even if I'm 27. She signed her name for his adoption and even if you're an adult parents will still take care of you either way. I learned that first hand. You're never to old for your parent to take care of you.
I hate her in that scene. Just because you regret something you did doesnt make you not guilty. You left the coke out, your brother did it, and thats on you. Plus she admitted it. Ugh. Like bitch you are 100% guilty anyway you frame it.
Scenes like this reminds me why no other show has affected me in the same way. The acting here is literally chilling. I grew up with an alcoholic dad and I know what a relapse can do to a family and the people around you. Fiona and Lip are both smart and resourceful (with their own flaws, sure!) and they always cared tremendously about their family, namely their younger siblings and each other, in a way that made me feel in awe. But they have both been ruined at one point by addiction and Frank, at the core, is to be blamed.
at the core i agree..it's all to do with frank and monica and how they raised (or didn't raise) the kids, that being said that was then in the shameless universe, this is now..and now Fiona is making her own terrible choices, following right in her parents footsteps.
It's why Frank still being alive on the show doesn't work anymore. If you kill Frank off the show you can literally start seeing what could happen to the siblings which ones will be able to move on and up and which ones are going to recreate the no collar life of Frank and Monica.
This show is all about addiction. And the whole enviromental vs. Genetic debate, but clearly the writers argue more for the environment side of that debate, which I think is accurrate. Being an alcoholic myself, I know that a lot of my drinking is to numb me from painful memories of abuse, poverty, shitty job, mental illness, loneliness, etc. Which is what Lip did, and it's what Fiona is doing, the problem with that is if it's alcoholic drinking, it works until it doesnt. And when it doesn't it fucking sucks, and makes everything harder for you and the people that love you. That's also what this show is all about too, that addiction hurts the people in your life that love you, and you're supposed to love, but you can't because its all about you and your next fix.
@Clovr May Thanks for this comment. I'm sorry for what you've been through. I remember I used to blame my dad for his addiction and I was so angry with him. But I have since learned about his childhood. He was abandoned by his own father and his mom was an alcoholic and abusive. And that's why his own addiction started in such an early age. I never felt angry with him again, only sorry for him. And so, so proud of where he is today. I see viewers get angry with Lip and Fiona for their actions but it's important to remember that their issues didn't come from out of nowhere.
@@quietastronaut thank you so much for this comment, and for your compassion and understanding. I'm so sorry you had to go through that with your Dad, and for what your Dad went through. I hope you are all healing. And God bless you and your family. It's the part of Shameless I feel they consistently nail. Like addiction is a complicated emotional mess. And untangling those knots is often devestating. But then it does come down to like, Ok you have to get your shit together, or your gonna ruin your life and others lives, and you cant keep doing this. It's wrong. Addiction is a cunning and baffling disease.
I wonder if Jimmy takes Fiona away with him. That's what happened in the original UK version....Also, in the original UK version, Debs takes on Fiona's role, which seems to be occurring in the US version
So lip is allowed to spiral for a good couple months, Debbie can keep her baby, Carl can be a gangster, Ian can go without getting help, and now that Fiona is falling apart everyone hates her for it. Okay.
When everyone turned on Fiona . I was pissed , she did everything she could to raise them since she was a kid . But looking at all the kids , I understand why all of them are the way they are . They all get pissed at someone , but at the end of the day they will support each other. Which is what counts . She was bound to fuck up , and be messed up in some ways . Being a mom for so many years when she shouldn’t have been. She got a taste of freedom and it ruled her for a bit . It would happen to anyone in her shoes.
Bad take lol. Fiona is a piece of shit and was constantly reminded of it. Kids reminded her she cheated on every dude and when she got cocky and bougie she just kinda said "not my problem" to all of her "kids" she loved lol. She's a lying hypocrite. She did some good things but racked up so much negative points
This scene is probably one of my favorite Shameless scenes ever. I think the last 20 seconds of the clip are so powerful. The sad music, the camera zooming in on Fiona, Frank walking in and doing exactly what Fiona did just moments before. Good shit. It’s not gonna be the same without Fiona.
It was better without her. Looking back after a few years seasons 10 and 11 had life, had color, had actual family bonding and helping each other. I watched the wedding episode last night and Fiona has no place in that family anymore. I couldn't see a single place she would fit other than stupid fan service. I can't see her helping lip with his kid, I can't see her doing anything for Debbie, or benefitting her, I can't see how she would have benefited Mickey and Ian, Vee was better to Mickey then Fiona ever could dare to be, and Vee stepped up to help Mickey and Ian in ways that Fiona never could because she's never had a real relationship that she cherished or even worked, considering how she felt about Mickey and thought he was garbage he wouldn't want her around. The only person she could have benefitted was Liam and Lip took care of him and gave him the home she was to messed up to give him.
@@adamhutchison6723probably bc Fiona always wrestled with wanting out. She’s just too scared to do so. Being forced to her I risk reaction was “is he seriously doing this lolz” and then “hey wait a second this could be my out.” Before coming back down to reality of the sitch
Jeremy really thrives in these dramatic scenes. I could genuinely feel the emotion just from looking at his face and this gives so much context to the importance & spiteful intent of Fiona drinking and waving the bottle in his face. And the fact that Fiona (Emmy) has this passive unimpressed look speaks volumes about where Fiona is regarding caring about Lip
Jeremy really has some of the most expressive eyes on the show. I remember the scene where Lip was working at the diner talking about Fiona's fuck ups and how she said "Fucking up. You mean like dropping out of college??" And lip says nothing but looks at her and his look makes her recoil
He was also pretty irate w professor Youens when he figured out he was just another student & not something special, like Youens had led him to believe.
For all that lack of money and other problems, Fiona has never left her siblings. She always takes care of them and all their needs. Even, she caught so many opportunities for her good BUT she think the children more than herself. And now, when Fiona really need to help, they turn back to her. SHE DESERVES SO MUCH BETTER
Chance debbie didn’t deserve better. debbie lied to a boy and got herself pregnant purposely at age 15 for herself and only herself. sure, blame it on being “young” and not “knowing better”. but the truth is it was an extremely selfish thing to do. debbie almost expected her siblings to help her out, and provide for her and her baby (she didn’t have a job, or a stable home to raise a child in). she didn’t think having a child through - and that’s on her. fiona warned her and gave her a choice. fiona has always had to care for everyone and for the first time she says your on your own with that. that’s not on me. that’s called being fair.
@Chance How tf did fiona kill a toddler and ruin a man's life? The cps and this one wasnt even her fucking fault. Yall got some mad issues. Everyone knows that fiona isnt a saint but she sacrificed her life for her thankless siblings since she was 9.
Yeah, Lip and Debbie were extremely ungrateful to Fiona. She's been mother to both of them and gave up so much to raise them through out years. When they mess things up, Fiona has always tried her best to help them out, but when she messes something up by accident, and at her lowest point, they lash out at her instead of being understanding and actively trying to help her. Even with these bs treatment she got from her ungrateful siblings, she still leaves them with half of the money before she leaves. I agree. Fiona deserves so much better.
Derek Fisher he wasn’t even in the house at the time, fiona was drunk in the middle of the day. she’s the legal owner of the house so it’s her responsibility.
that shop was meant for recovering addicts and lip told her that. past fiona would have known and actally cared about the sponser guy, but she stopped giving a shit. she is constantly fucking up though and not owing up. she took the squirell fund money and used it to premote a club night, but lip had to make all the money back. she got liam coked up and denied her guiltiness for a long time. she is an alcoholic who drinks during the day instead of raising the kids. and is making lip clean up her mess. fiona's character was built around the fact that she cleaned up frank and monica's mistakes and raises them. then she turns into her parents over time and lip is always the one who has to clean up her mess. stopping school to take care of liam. putting his life on hold because fiona doesn't give a shit anymore. fiona raised these kids and she did a great job up to a certain point. throughout the show, they show fiona love constantly and it is clear that they do appreciate her work. lip even told her to live in costa rica with jimmysteve, but she became legal guardian of them all. that means debbie, carl, ian and liam. ian drops out of school, debbie gets knocked up, carl gets arrested and liam almost dies. she stopped caring after a while. this was a great reality check for her and she did a lot better after going to that meeting.
@Chance She gave lip a choice and she didnt kick debbie out. She just told her to raise the kid by herself and debbie deserved it, she Litreally trapped that dude.
the acting in this scene is chilling, the way that lip stares at fiona, the way fiona finally, finally realizes she slipped which is made clear for everyone literally through frank walking in and parroting fiona's actions. (aka she is becoming frank) It's incredible and absolutely mesmerizing. It also parallels the 'I'm not guilty' and 'Liam almost died' from season 4, but whereas this time you can see fiona has grown, she's realizing that she is guilty now. she couldn't, back with liam in season 4, admit to herself that she was guilty but in this scene, you can truly grasp the moment she realizes she's slipping and is essentially becoming frank, which, since season 1 has been her absolute greatest fear. It's phenomenal acting with a great storyline. (also, visually, it's told incredibly. she's sitting the middle between where frank enters and lip leaves. she's literally watching her past self, the caretaker, the loving but gruff and tough family head, leave, while frank, the irresponsible addict, walks up behind her. She doesn't turn around to look at him, he's (and in this case the representation of what she's becoming) sneaking up on her while she watches lip (the incarnation of her former self) leave. It's visually one of the most brilliant, most telling scenes not only in this show but I think in all of television).
0:48 the shock on their faces after Jeremy yells, that’s the power of acting. They probably felt like they were in a real situation there. Jeremy Allen White is so underrated as an actor
He is also blaming Fiona for family services coming over about Xan. He was dumb enough to get them involved but doesn't have the housing or money to provide for her.
Dude made his choice, but offering liquor to someone in AA makes you a dick. She didn't know, but she was at her brother's job, her brother who is in AA, her brother shop, owned by someone in AA, a more sober Fiona would've figured it out. Lip probably told get before tbh
Wasn't lip the one that ordered a "special pizza" to Sierra's boyfriend in Season 8? His intentions were to make him relapse, I don't know why he's blaming Fiona for messing up someone's life up on accident when he wanted to mess up someone else's on purpose.
@@nigelc5264 It's called getting help. Lip put away his ego and finally decided to get help and redeem himself, if not he still would've kept drinking and searching for fights. Fiona never once got offered help even when everyone noticed how reckless she was. They all expected her to do better and figure it out herself. So Lip wouldn't have had a "character growth", without AA or people helping him. Fiona was always on her own. The fact that Lip bashed on her when she was in the same place as he was once, shows how little character growth he had. His ego still controls him and he continuous to think he's better.
@@antidepressants7162 right I mean who leaves coke out in the open when there are kids around? I mean more importantly what kind of responsible person would even have or use cocaine in the first place?
•XOJULIEXO • No. You cant blame them. Fiona has her own demons to battle. She can’t just ruin other people’s lives just because she feels entitled. She was sitting in Frank’s stool at the Alibi for Christ sake. She was fired because of her drunkenness. Fiona drinks excessively and to a point of blacking out, on the daily. Those kids are not a part of what ruined her. She had a nice job, do you remember? She had sex with her boss’s/ boyfriend’s brother and got fired. Her coke is what almost killed Liam. She and only her is what is ruining her.
Lemonade lemon at this point, it’s lip that’s part of it. He still thinks Fiona needs to take care of them and be their fucking parent when she is grown and has her own shit to deal with. Lip took this as an opportunity to blame fiona, when it wasn’t her fault. He could have not drank Fiona didn’t make him do it. The shit was on the sponsee NOT Fiona.
Khiana Curry I get where you’re coming from but Fiona wasn’t really taking care of her siblings anymore and lip didn’t really say anything about her moving into the apartment. And also she is supposed to take care of her siblings because she is the guardian, she signed up for that. maybe she doesn’t have to not take care of Debbie or Carl anymore(because they’re older) but Definitely for Liam. And yeah maybe it wasn’t her fault for giving Jason alcohol but she was becoming just like frank. A drunk. Nobody was blaming Fiona for her mistakes because everyone does them and everyone in the family has shit to deal with too but she wasn’t Fiona anymore, she was becoming a person that was irresponsible and childish. Her siblings helped her out but Fiona was just fucking up her life and needed a wake up call. I’m glad that In the end, she ended up going to a meeting and starting over. Although I do wish she came back on the show because Fiona is just a great character overall.
Lemonade lemon absolutely you can’t blame other people for your mistakes. And yes Fiona stand it goes both ways lip blaming Fiona for his spondee is a bit much however what Fiona has done is on her. Her ego about being able to handle a major project aka careless business ventures. Her bad taste in men I mean like she had 3 really good relationships where she cheated on them. That one dude where in the middle of the date she did it with jimmy in the bathroom. Gus who was really wholesome who she cheat on him with jimmy and mike (the cup business guy) where she slept with his junkie brother. 2 were really successful and Gus was stable.
BritBrat-Sweetheart 923 they shouldn’t have to “have her back” like that. She’s done plenty for them but she chose that responsibility when she became guardian for the kids. For her to turn around and behave like that in front of them made her just as bad as frank. Let’s not forget the fact that she almost killed liam
Like the things that the other siblings did bad only post them self in a worst position but it never dragged the family when it didn’t come from getting a job and things like that
Is the shop for ex addicts? So your saying they wound not hire someone knowledgeable in motorcycles unless they were also an ex addict. There is no way Fiona could have known
I feel for both Fiona and Lip, but mainly Fiona. Fiona shouldn’t have been drinking, but she didn’t know and Jason didn’t say anything. Instead of trying to throw her out the house, Lip should understand that Fiona is going through a lot and spiraling down a hole like he did not too long ago. He should help her, not throw her out. Show tough love, not give up on the person who took care of you for years. I hope when Emmy Rossum leaves it isn’t on a sour note and they give Fiona a proper send off, but the way it’s heading I’m not too sure...
How is lip going to throw her out like that? Did she do it to him when he had problems? No! She didn’t even throw Debbie out when she got pregnant even though she said she would. She tried to keep that family together for so long and now lip is acting entitled and self-righteous. I don’t condone Fiona’s behavior but just remember who had your back when nobody else did.
Lip honestly was right to do tgis. His spiral was due to Fiona's coke incident with Liam. So while he was going to school, he took over Fiona's role. That was alot to handle but he pulled himself together. He just wants the same for her
@@vanwall3735 only bc he was willing to drop out to take care of a baby that was obviously not his for bitch Karen. And she afterwards wanted him to come home and he was too stubborn to come home for a bit.
Addicts need watching over. That's what sponsors are for. They need someone to be there for them to make sure they don't relapse. Don't make an ignorant comment unless you know shit.
@@londonisvile So addicts are supposed to just go everywhere with their sponsors for the rest of their lives? Obviously not. Therefore it's the responsibility of the addict in recovery to take care of themselves. Also, if he's incapable of making it through a five minute conversation, that has alcohol present, without drinking, then it's entirely Lip's fault. Not Fiona's.
@@basiliskbones5102 fiona knew, that everyone at the shop had addiction problems. When you are heavily addicted to something, it's hard to take control of yourself. Jason was young af, Fiona should've been paying attention.
This scene reminded me of the old Shameless and I loved it! Broke my heart into a million, tiny pieces! I really thought this would be a wake up call for Fiona though, but looks like she’s still going down the same path in the next episode. Hopefully they clean this mess up before Emmy leaves💔
The problem is not Fiona being down, she's allowed to, but like, stop dragging others down with you ??? She always always does it and i really really hate that about her and that upsets me so much because she had gotten so much better in the past couple seasons !!! Lip in this scene though !!!!!!!
She is talking to a person she doesnt know, he asks to have a drink. What was she suppossed to do? Ask if he is sober or not? Who does that? None of the things Lip blamed Fiona for is Fiona's fault. They do irresponsible stuff while they keep expecting Fiona to be responsible. Not fair
@@okanidug6035 She couldn't guess that sure, but if she'd cared a bit about everyone else's life for a while she probably would have known who he was. I'm sure Lip has talked about him quite a lot already...
I'm w/Fiona, She didnt know nor is her responsibility to know. She's supposed to carry permission slips around? LOL Dude coulda said something like "Can u put that away. I'm in AA"
@@DennisTheInternationalMenace She didn't know because she gives literally zero fucks about anyone but herself. Every single person that works there is an addict. That's how Lip got the job. Brad is Lip's best friend, and the guy that he's sponsoring has been to their house. If she cared about Lip's life at all, she would've known. Saying that her selfishness is not her fault, is absolute horse shit.
Ryan McPherson bro he is a total stranger to her it’s not like she couldve been oh your an AA by just looking at him like he is his own person he can say it himself he is not a baby
Lip was once one of my favorite characters but he's really an insensitive hypocrite he was drunk for like two straight seasons. Take a look at fionas life she's not drinking this much for no reason and isn't a fucking narcissist like Frank (not an excuse she definitely needs to get her act together). Fiona practically raised and fed and clothed all of them, while they all constantly act irresponsibly and make fucked up choices every episode. Now fiona is spiraling and crying out for help and none of them care or offer any support. Lip is a an AA sponsor and he'll go out of his way to help all these stingers with their addictions but not his own sister who raised him like she was his own and could be fucking dead with out!! How the fuck was she supposed to know this guy she's never met is an addict he asked for the drink himself she didn't even offer like their expectations for Fiona are way too high she's only human.
Definitly. She's drinking to numb herself from all the pain she's STILL bombarded with everyday. She's in so much pain. Unfortunately with alcoholism is it works until it doesnt. And when it doesn't it fucking sucks. I know this personally.
Jason AND Fiona called Lip many times but he was too focused on stalking Tammy, and now he wants to blame Fiona? It's his own damn fault for ignoring his so "beloved" sponsee. Lmao
The fact that Lip told Fiona off and then she laughed, but then he walked away and her whole mood changed and she realized she is starting to follow Franks steps in alcoholism. It’s just a powerful scene. Good job everyone ❤️
This scene really got me. Fiona's drinking doesn't just affect her, it affects others around her as well. By the end of this scene, my heart was pounding. I don't think I've ever seen Lip this angry, and he has good reason to be. He's been through what Fiona's going through and made it out the other side. I was in a similar situation growing up with an alcoholic family member so this scene was difficult to watch because it's all too familiar.
From the moment she didn’t go with Jimmy she took it out on the world. She resented herself so much that no one was safe from her. Whole other families had to suffer because Fiona was on the loose.
Agreed. I don't think it was Fiona's fault either. She genuinely didn't know. If anything, it was the guy's fault for not telling her in the first place that he was an addict and that it would fuck him being sober up. I know that It's never easy for a person to even turn that down or admit that they were once an addict, but he could've told Fiona no. He didn't even hesitate once to do it with her
@@MrSharkSaver50 I mean yea but it’s still not her fault. And that’s not an excuse to relapse. It’s called resisting every addict has a choice to resists or give in. And he gave in. That’s not on Fiona she didn’t know he was an addict
I just want to say 1:27 gave me goosebumps, how lip has the same face Fiona gave Monica when she tried to come back in season one. I’m not going to lie, and say this was the only part that has given me goosebumps because the acting on here has sometimes been phenomenal. But this really brought a chill down my spine. I haven’t watched season 9 yet, I just watch the previews but if it’s anything like the previews I’m going to be blown away. In my lil fan heart I wanted her and jimmy Steve to reunite like they did with Ian and Mickey. But now I just am anxious to see what happens.
Fiona is really irritating me at this point. Her carefree attitude even after hearing what she did makes me wanna punch her. Shameless feels like its back to season 1-4 where everything was fucking awesome. Great acting. Literally chills
I'm sorry but her attitude is not carefree. She didn't know he was a recovering alcoholic or heroin addict. It's not like she's laughing the situation off or anything; she's clearly showing remorse, but that doesn't mean she has to bend over backwards to beg for Lip or anyone elses forgiveness. She knows it's bad that he fell off the wagon, but it's not her fault he decided to drink. You blaming her for someone elses actions is quite frankly uncalled for.
@Mr. Ari The Scorpio clearly u don't know the pressure he was under trying to help that guy get his life together so he's allowed to show a little frustration even if that does make him what u call sanctimonious
@Mr. Ari The Scorpio that's not survival that's an early grave idk who ever told u that's an acceptable way to live and as far as lip throwing her out again that's frustration and he's also the man of the house who has other ppl to look out for and doesn't want Fiona influencing them so this is kind of a don't come back till u get ur shit together so ur a little backwards in ur statement
Mr. Ari The Scorpio Are you just going to keep throwing around the word sanctimonious around everywhere? Or is the the extent of your larger vocabulary?
Ok but it isn’t Fiona’s fault... It was Jason’s. Lip was trippin! Just like everyone else that was hating on Fiona this season. She really started hitting rock bottom for one season and instead of helping her, they shit on her. Smh
fiona wasnt like that. Fiona stopped caring about everything so she ignored everything outside of herself. The old fiona would have known about jason and thats lips point, she should have known
I know right lip acts like he is perfect he has drinking problem to i don't remember fiona kicking him out or treating him like that they all have fucked up and fiona has been there this why it breaks my heart when she gone I'm done she was my favorite because she had to raise her family and family loyalty to her was important I'm glad she leaving she should say fuck all of you and start her life over some where else
remember that time her 2 year brother almost died because she couldn't leave her blow on the high shelf? she's not a hero. if she was your neighbour you'd be phone the police on her weekly
God you people are children if you haven't noticed she's becoming frank this scene is a perfect example with her old self leaving(lip) while her self destructive new self (frank)walks in
I know that Gallaghers are tough and mostly get their shit together themselves, but as a family, I thought that at least they should get each other's backs. It's ironic to see that Lip, who was once an alcoholic and an AA sponsor, yells at Fiona and kicks her out of the house for being constantly wasted rather than getting her help. I feel like Lip is projecting his anger onto Fiona for losing Xan.
To me lips actor is the best actor in this show he was diverse and could change at any moment Like in this video, he walks in said nothing starring furiously then calmly started saying what he needed then gets more passionate as he continues talking then snaps to a deafening calm voice to convey how serious he is at the end without screaming and just saying it straight any actor can go do a soft emotional scene or a screaming emotional scene but it takes talent to mix them
I haven't watched this season yet but this scene was so good! Just watching this made you feel like you were there and you were feeling the emotions every one else was! ❤️
I'm so so proud of lip he's become the man I always knew he was , he's going to be a great father and brother/caretaker to them... for the lip bashers in the comment section you really havent been paying attention to what this show is really about, life is ugly its harsh and it kicks your ass but that doesnt give any of us the right to check out when things get hard fiona betrayed everything she stood for she absolutely was wrong and is wrong for what's shes done this season !
The Lip bashers are usually the same people who swear that Fiona can do nothing wrong and everything she does is right and blame everyone else for her mistakes and give her praise for everyone elses accomplishments.
I love lip no doubt in that but Fiona has done so much shit for them ALL and when she reaches her breaking point reason being built up stress over the years of taking care of these kids and everyone shits on her for that when shes been there for every single one of them when they needed the help. now thats not fair, it wasnt fionas fault that jason drank how was she supposed to know. and its not fair that she was kicked out thats her house and its not like lip never fucked up, hes fucked up a fuck ton but did fiona kick him out or shame him for it? no she was there for every single gallagher but no ones there for fiona
Here's the thing.. I agree but sometimes Lip is abit too hypocritical.. why couldn't he help Fiona the way he helped Brad,Jason and the professor? I'm sorry but I like Lip and I've had some issues with Fiona but I love her work ethic and the way she supports her family so when shit like this happens to her it breaks my heart tht the only thing her family did to help her was Bail her from jail and help get revenge on her Ex which was very thoughtful but wht really counts is the support and none of them cared enough to help and Lip lectures her on how SHE'S not caring? I mean I really thought after the sacrifices she made instead of bashing her while she's drunk and angry why couldn't they just help her the way Lip got help instead of just shunning her?
Deep! This episode brought tears to my eyes... my long time friend Jason from back in the day of high school suffered hard with alcoholism and other addictions. He was finally getting a hold of it when another friend of mine got him drunk... Jason died from an overdose. I nearly spent a night in jail because I wanted to so badly to harm Jason’s friend. I was so mad!!! Instead I just yelled at everyone for not thinking! Thanks for making me cry Shameless! Great acting!!
It's more the fact that Fiona doesn't care who her choices affect. If she wanted to get help then that'd be one thing but she doesn't give a fuck about changing and whenever her decisions cause a negative impact she immediately tries to place the blame on something or someone else
All this episode signified is that she is being a treat to everyone around her and hes had enough. Plus she should have at least known he was working in a place for recovering addicts im sure he told her in the past when she was ok. She just didnt care enough to remember that now like many other things.
@Dee Brown Yes but Lip's initial anger is understandable, and when Fiona showed little to no remorse that just made him even angrier. It's not just this one event anyway. Combined with the DCFS thing, and Fiona's behaviour in general, Lip has had enough. And you can tell Debbie and Carl agree because they didn't say anything to stop him
Lip looking down at her in disgust as if he wasn’t in the exact same state she’s in right now a couple years ago... he has empathy for a complete stranger yet forcibly kicks the sister who raised him out onto the street acting like she’s this selfish alcoholic instead of getting her help .. hmm
You know when someone like Fiona who has done basically everything goes on a self destructive path and becomes like Frank..she is expected to clean up her act on her own..he was the one who told Debbie to cut some slack but this was his breaking point ..he couldn't take her Frank attitude anymore
If anyone remembers, back in season 4 episode 10, to be exact, Lip comes to pick Fiona up (rescuing her) from a gas station in the middle of nowhere after she went to a wild party where she used drugs while she was on parole. Lip ended up dropping the anger he had towards his sister and decided to show her love and empathy as he helped her get back on her feet. This is the type of love and scenes that we so desperately need in Fiona's final season.
The acting in this show is f****** amazing because it touches real-life subjects that a lot of people have gone through it's truly admire how great these actors portray these characters it's truly amazing. Frank: what did I miss The audience: OH I DONT KNOW ALL THE YEARS OF YOUR KIDS LIVES!!!!!!
Lip clearly knows it wasn’t Fiona’s fault he’s just been fed up with the way she’s been acting, him being a recovering alcoholic and all and just used this as a reason to tell her off.
The thing is… he wasn’t mad at Jason and he shouldn’t have been. Lip comforted him and said it happens… when you’re an addict, you F up.. there’s always a chance you’ll relapse. Lip was truly angry about the Xan situation.
Jason drinking and shooting heroin is not fiona fault. be responsible for your own decisions! im angry that he really thinks he can tell her to get out! hero syndrome he barely making it himself
When I was at a Halloween party at my college I accidentally got a guy who was four months sober to relapse. It didn't know and it wasn't my responsibility, it was his. It's a college party and everyone was doing drugs or drinking around us and he shouldn't have been there in the first place. I won't apologize.
i feel like lip knows that fiona is going down the wrong path and he needs for her to finally realize that she's damaging herself. maybe lip kicking her out was more in the heat of the moment but i honestly think that it was a good idea for him to do that. yes it wasn't completely her fault but she needs to get her shit straight. she's done enough. the problem with fiona is that she's so self destructive and it's starting to effect everyone around her. i just hope she gets help soon and fixes this problem herself.
This scene was fucking epic lip is a amazing actor and I definitely want to see him in some serious movies cuz he comes with all the drama and Fiona’s facial expressions are amazing she says it all in her face two amazing actors making a perfect scene as season 9 brings it full circle where she realizes she is just like there father
Hmm.. true but what lip said also had a lot of truth she REALLY DIDN'T give a shit enough to care I mean when he said Jason she was just like sorry who? I mean that's pretty fucked up if u think about it
This was the very first scene I had actually seen that was about Shameless. My friend was watching this season, this scene and I instantly got chills. I binge watched this show ever since.
If she wanted to have a serious talk with Lip, she should've been caring enough to drop the booze before talking to him. She's in a downward spiral, but whatever she wanted to say to Lip at the time it would have been more respectful and taken seriously if attempted to approach him sober(even if he WASN'T a recovering alcoholic). She's borderline caring but not caring at the same time. Alcoholism can make you into someone you're not and that's what this is being portrayed here. It's not even alcoholism, she's going through a bunch of shit which can impair you and hinder your ability to think. Fiona can make poor choices, but not all the choices she makes are her fault in a sense, but she needs to think a bit to avoid the problems that could have been avoided if she was acting more responsible. She can act responsible, but she forgets to think at times especially critical moments.
I love this outcome of shameless cause I know there’s gonna be a huge twist for the ending but it’s also crazy how Fiona and frank have kinda switched positions and lip is the one kicking the drunk parent out like omg it’s genius
I understand why Lip is upset but he cant blame Fiona for his Sponsee's relapse. She said it herself that she didnt know what the guys situation was and its not like she forced the alcohol down his throat. He had the power to say no and didnt.
Lip always acts like shit expecting everyone around him to be at their best like how on earth was she supposed to know about the guy in the bike shop or that DCFS would show up unannounced. Debbie screwed up too knowing DCFS could show up at any time but she chose that day to dig a hole and was busy trying to get with Carl’s girlfriend. Not that Fiona didn’t screw up many times throughout the show, just that this wasn’t one of her screw ups.
Frank coming in and doing exactly what Fiona did was a nice touch
Steroid Brah YES I AGREE SO HARD
what episode did that happen
Steroid Brah oh candy corn
"Ooo candy corn"
😭😭😂.
It's crazy how the scene ended. Who she used to be (Lip) walking out the door and who she's becoming (Frank) walking in the door, while she sits in the middle. Visually that was an awesome way to show her past and her future because right now she is at the precipice and her next decision will determine who she will become.
great insight

Fionna yelling at her legal guardian Monica in season one
Lip yelling at his legal guardian Fionna in season nine
This is what I signed up for
Fiona was never his legal guardian, though. Something of a mother figure, maybe, but never actually his guardian.
@@prisoner__24601 fiona adopted the kids when frank call child services. She adopted lip too making her his legal guardian.

"I'm not guilty!"
"Liam almost died!"
The two most powerful lines in the best scene of the show
I hate her in that scene. Just because you regret something you did doesnt make you not guilty. You left the coke out, your brother did it, and thats on you. Plus she admitted it. Ugh. Like bitch you are 100% guilty anyway you frame it.
M Cardinal her and the other adults who were doing coke
@@birdiec Lip didnt care about liam either he cared about himself. Always. Including that scene.
@Chile Anyways She is the victim Lmao..
This is the kinda content we want in shameless. Happy to see this half of the show is finally feeling like how it used to be
Krunkler true
Trump won, shut up and get the hell over it, is what the writers need to hear.

So lip is allowed to spiral for a good couple months, Debbie can keep her baby, Carl can be a gangster, Ian can go without getting help, and now that Fiona is falling apart everyone hates her for it. Okay.
isabella colangelo lip spiralled for a good couple of years tbh
Yeah exactly.
He ruined his chances of actually making something of himself Fiona did but then got too cocky.
She’s the big sis, she’s supposed to make an example for everyone else.
Yeah but the reason they hate her for it is because Fiona's bringing people down with her
When everyone turned on Fiona .
Right and it aint just Lop Debbie too
Bad take lol.
Amen
no doubt, that aren't many fans would continue to watch, without Fiona. But, we'll all see how many would will watch next season.
I dont get why she smiles after lip tells her to leave
Have never seen Lip that angry! Its more than Jason, he's fed up with her
He was angrier about Liam.
Guess you missed the whole Liam episodes
He was also pretty irate w professor Youens when he figured out he was just another student & not something special, like Youens had led him to believe.
@@puma7446 When did that happen? I remember Lip being pretty brilliant in college.
@Rex Truth I know that, but I don't remember anything about Yoens deceiving him into believing he was special.
I agree
Yeah, Lip and Debbie were extremely ungrateful to Fiona. She's been mother to both of them and gave up so much to raise them through out years. When they mess things up, Fiona has always tried her best to help them out, but when she messes something up by accident, and at her lowest point, they lash out at her instead of being understanding and actively trying to help her. Even with these bs treatment she got from her ungrateful siblings, she still leaves them with half of the money before she leaves. I agree. Fiona deserves so much better.
Not IMO. She’s bringing everyone down with her which no one else has done but her
Oh how I've missed responsible Lip!!
He has been responsible for 2 seasons now and hes character is really boring
i haven´t
Kevin Mulvey he’s maturing and becoming a better person
He's a self centered prick.
Derek Fisher he wasn’t even in the house at the time, fiona was drunk in the middle of the day. she’s the legal owner of the house so it’s her responsibility.
I feel like lip has become a hypocrite. Fiona didn’t throw him out when he was falling out of windows & gett8ng kicked fr9m college!
Difference is she's the reason Liam almost died
that shop was meant for recovering addicts and lip told her that. past fiona would have known and actally cared about the sponser guy, but she stopped giving a shit. she is constantly fucking up though and not owing up. she took the squirell fund money and used it to premote a club night, but lip had to make all the money back. she got liam coked up and denied her guiltiness for a long time. she is an alcoholic who drinks during the day instead of raising the kids. and is making lip clean up her mess. fiona's character was built around the fact that she cleaned up frank and monica's mistakes and raises them. then she turns into her parents over time and lip is always the one who has to clean up her mess. stopping school to take care of liam. putting his life on hold because fiona doesn't give a shit anymore. fiona raised these kids and she did a great job up to a certain point. throughout the show, they show fiona love constantly and it is clear that they do appreciate her work. lip even told her to live in costa rica with jimmysteve, but she became legal guardian of them all. that means debbie, carl, ian and liam. ian drops out of school, debbie gets knocked up, carl gets arrested and liam almost dies. she stopped caring after a while. this was a great reality check for her and she did a lot better after going to that meeting.
That’s because he checked into rehab
@ He was Litreally breaking people's properties. Fiona didnt affect anyone else. How tf is she responsible for a random person trying to stay sober?
It kills me how they treated Fiona..but Frank can do anything and not get kicked out lol
exactly !
Because it was bs
They had to end her role somehow
Her scenes made no sense in the whole season
Can’t compare frank to fiona
frank was constantly getting his ass whooped and getting kicked out
damn this scene feels straight out of season 1-4. incredible.
So this is how it ends for Fiona 😭 Shameless portrays alcoholism like no other show can. One minute you're on top of the world then, the next..

0:48 the shock on their faces after Jeremy yells, that’s the power of acting. They probably felt like they were in a real situation there. Jeremy Allen White is so underrated as an actor
Lip has no room to talk period nor to throw Fiona out. His sponsee made the choice to replapse on his own.
@The_Call_Me_ Pebbles ok fam
You aren't seeing the bigger picture Amanda. That is just a piece of the puzzle.
Dont ever go to an AA meeting
Wasn't lip the one that ordered a "special pizza" to Sierra's boyfriend in Season 8? His intentions were to make him relapse, I don't know why he's blaming Fiona for messing up someone's life up on accident when he wanted to mess up someone else's on purpose.
Well it’s called character growth
@@nigelc5264 It's called getting help. Lip put away his ego and finally decided to get help and redeem himself, if not he still would've kept drinking and searching for fights. So Lip wouldn't have had a "character growth", without AA or people helping him. Fiona was always on her own.
The fact that Lip bashed on her when she was in the same place as he was once, shows how little character growth he had. His ego still controls him and he continuous to think he's better.

Okay let’s just all agree that the kids were part of what ruined her so
•XOJULIEXO • No.
Lemonade lemon exactly
Why is no one stepping up to help Fiona like all the times she’s done for them they don’t deserve her
Yeah. It showed how much her siblings really have her back. Which isn't much.
She’s just a shitty person. She’s dragging everybody down by her bad mistakes like the only person that does that is Frank
Like the things that the other siblings did bad only post them self in a worst position but it never dragged the family when it didn’t come from getting a job and things like that
i don't think it was fair for him to fully blame her since she didn't know also the guy asked for it pretty sure fiona would say no if she knew
@Filomena Baker None of it was due. When an addict relapses it's no body's fault but their own.

You can tell the anger in Lip's eyes damn...

Fiona practically raised and fed and clothed all of them, while they all constantly act irresponsibly and make fucked up choices every episode. Now fiona is spiraling and crying out for help and none of them care or offer any support.
Lmao
Godd this scene makes me cry
i literally don’t even remember commenting this
The fact that Lip told Fiona off and then she laughed, but then he walked away and her whole mood changed and she realized she is starting to follow Franks steps in alcoholism.
Alcoholism. Fuck. I hope your family is healing.
From the moment she didn’t go with Jimmy she took it out on the world. She resented herself so much that no one was safe from her. Whole other families had to suffer because Fiona was on the loose.
It really wasn't Fiona's fault , it all comes down to choice .
It’s the addiction it takes the choice away from you
@Olivia Phlegar very ignorant statement
@@LuisTorres-vn1ev 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I def agree that fiona needs a meeting, but how in the world would she know he was an addict.
This had me shook. I've never seen Lip so mad!
Frank coming in last minute grabbing candy corn while everyone sits in silence is priceless xD
this scene was sooo depressing man
I just want to say 1:27 gave me goosebumps, how lip has the same face Fiona gave Monica when she tried to come back in season one.
When an addict relapses, it's nobody's fault but their own. Lip should know that since he's working a program
They have redeemed themselves this season as I have really enjoyed it again & with a great Storyline & Outstanding Acting with Emmy & Jeremy.
This scene is so powerful
This scene makes me not want Emmy to leave yet I kinda want Fiona to leave on a good note not a drunk who gets locked up or moves away.
Truly the best acting ive ever seen he is an amazing actor and the way he delivers his lines is great goosebumps every time
Fiona was there for all of them and now that she needs help and support they kick her when she’s down smh
TOTALLY AGREE!
God you people are children if you haven't noticed she's becoming frank this scene is a perfect example with her old self leaving(lip) while her self destructive new self (frank)walks in
And it's a simple thing of only addicts can help themselves they all know she's an addict but she can't understand that she has a problem
Why does Lip sound like an Italian New Yorker 😂.
lol I dont know dude "Im his sponsor" sounded so much like an Italian New Yorker
To me lips actor is the best actor in this show he was diverse and could change at any moment Like in this video, he walks in said nothing starring furiously then calmly started saying what he needed then gets more passionate as he continues talking then snaps to a deafening calm voice to convey how serious he is at the end without screaming and just saying it straight any actor can go do a soft emotional scene or a screaming emotional scene but it takes talent to mix them
Yet I still love her adorable smile
Been waiting all week for someone to post this clip!! Thanks!
Great acting scene. So much emotion.
In the beginning when she kept saying “who” I dieddddddd lmao
The irony that frank walked in right after that
I haven't watched this season yet but this scene was so good! Just watching this made you feel like you were there and you were feeling the emotions every one else was! ❤️
She hated Frank and now she has become him !
The most amazing dynamic of all of this is it really happens to more people and family than you can possibly even fathom
OH MY GOD WHY IS THIS MUSIC IS GETTING TO ME ?! 😩😭
@@naquannabetrand999 brandon Robert Young - hate it for you
My God the acting this season is UNREAL!! Especially Lip and Fiona!! Bravo!! 💜💜💜💜
One of the best comments I've ever seen pertaining to a series you are 100 percent correct people need to pay attention
Nah.
2 very good actors showing talent.
shameless is one of the best shows it literally talks about everything wrong in this world especially in the us
I don't understand why lip is mad at fiona. How was she supposed to know that that dude was the sponsee? Like he introduced him or some shit
He had enough of her acting like frank basically
And you can tell Debbie and Carl agree because they didn't say anything to stop him
Its not just she didn't know, it's the way she's been acting and there is a limit to what she has be doing.
lips face after he said 100 days he was sober 😂 him being angry made his lips shrunk
Lip looking down at her in disgust as if he wasn’t in the exact same state she’s in right now a couple years ago... he has empathy for a complete stranger yet forcibly kicks the sister who raised him out onto the street acting like she’s this selfish alcoholic instead of getting her help .. hmm
Thank you! Fiona didn’t kick Lip out when he ruined his whole academic career because of his drinking! I can’t stand Lip right now
You know when someone like Fiona who has done basically everything goes on a self destructive path and becomes like Frank..she is expected to clean up her act on her own..he was the one who told Debbie to cut some slack but this was his breaking point ..he couldn't take her Frank attitude anymore
They all take their family for granted in their own way they're no better than Frank I hope his own child has the same shit to him
None of that matters anymore
The acting in this show is f****** amazing because it touches real-life subjects that a lot of people have gone through it's truly admire how great these actors portray these characters it's truly amazing.
Frank: what did I miss
The audience: OH I DONT KNOW ALL THE YEARS OF YOUR KIDS LIVES!!!!!!
Brace yourself Jimmy Steve is coming in the last episode and Fiona will walk out of the show with him , best Ending for season 9.
So much for that
Lol didn’t happen
Frank coming in “what’d I miss” classic lol
That made me so sad. Lip was way too hard on her. She didn't know, that's a pretty damn good excuse.
There’s no excuses for anything. If I hit you with my car and I didn’t see you should I not go to jail cause I didn’t know where you were?
the music makes it even more sad, intense & deep omg
Lip clearly knows it wasn’t Fiona’s fault he’s just been fed up with the way she’s been acting, him being a recovering alcoholic and all and just used this as a reason to tell her off.
Wow.. wow wow wow! How powerful that scene was! It was chilling! I love this show so much!
he shouldve been mad at jason honestly. fiona had no idea that jason was a recovering addict. its not her job to know the business of random people.
Thank you !! Like the hell.
The thing is… he wasn’t mad at Jason and he shouldn’t have been. Lip comforted him and said it happens… when you’re an addict, you F up.. there’s always a chance you’ll relapse.
Lip was truly angry about the Xan situation.
Jesus. Christ. I haven't watched this episode yet but I just got chills. My God.
Jason drinking and shooting heroin is not fiona fault. be responsible for your own decisions! im angry that he really thinks he can tell her to get out! hero syndrome he barely making it himself
Andjelkovic Dennis aus der Barnabitengasse12a :
Selber schuld Franklin 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
When I was at a Halloween party at my college I accidentally got a guy who was four months sober to relapse. It didn't know and it wasn't my responsibility, it was his. It's a college party and everyone was doing drugs or drinking around us and he shouldn't have been there in the first place. I won't apologize.
Exactly! At the end of the day… when you’re an addict! There’s always a chance you’ll relapse.
The acting in this scene is perfect, even though the later seasons are average, there are still gem scenes like this.
This show is a great example of a show where the actors are far, far better than the writers.
BEST PERFORMANCE THE WHOLE SERIES FROM LIP!!!!
i feel like lip knows that fiona is going down the wrong path and he needs for her to finally realize that she's damaging herself. maybe lip kicking her out was more in the heat of the moment but i honestly think that it was a good idea for him to do that. yes it wasn't completely her fault but she needs to get her shit straight. she's done enough. the problem with fiona is that she's so self destructive and it's starting to effect everyone around her. i just hope she gets help soon and fixes this problem herself.
Masticatious Didn't she kick out Frank while he was the owner of the house?
This scene was fucking epic lip is a amazing actor and I definitely want to see him in some serious movies cuz he comes with all the drama and Fiona’s facial expressions are amazing she says it all in her face two amazing actors making a perfect scene as season 9 brings it full circle where she realizes she is just like there father
I get lip is angry but how was Fiona ment to now it's the guys job to say he has a drink problem it's not her job to know that
Hmm.. true but what lip said also had a lot of truth she REALLY DIDN'T give a shit enough to care I mean when he said Jason she was just like sorry who?
0:39 he can’t blame her cause she didn’t know. Phillip can’t mad at her and how would she know
the chills
I love this outcome of shameless cause I know there’s gonna be a huge twist for the ending but it’s also crazy how Fiona and frank have kinda switched positions and lip is the one kicking the drunk parent out like omg it’s genius
I understand why Lip is upset but he cant blame Fiona for his Sponsee's relapse. She said it herself that she didnt know what the guys situation was and its not like she forced the alcohol down his throat. He had the power to say no and didnt.
Jeez got chills man felt Lips Pain
Lip always acts like shit expecting everyone around him to be at their best like how on earth was she supposed to know about the guy in the bike shop or that DCFS would show up unannounced. Debbie screwed up too knowing DCFS could show up at any time but she chose that day to dig a hole and was busy trying to get with Carl’s girlfriend. Not that Fiona didn’t screw up many times throughout the show, just that this wasn’t one of her screw ups.
Lip got such a holier than thou attitude these last couple seasons
