This vlog is really well done. The edits, the music, etc. It's so cool seeing the things you guys did in Japan and I'm happy for Hayley for what she got to do. That's just awesome.
I love the dual vlog experience we get here. There were so many great quotes in this video but favorite has to be: You're a tall white man, everyone will understand.
Congratulations to Hayley for getting to meet Shibasaki, just from the few pictures in the book you showed his art looks gorgeous and I’m really happy that you were able to get a picture with him and that he signed your book for you. Random side note, I LOVED Lindsey’s purple lipstick, it was so pretty. The view as you, Mal, Chaz, and Jef were going up the mountain was absolutely amazing but when you were at the Takamine Onsen the scenery you showed and the inn itself took my breath away... so gorgeous.
The clip just before you mal chaz and jeff arrived at the ryokan you just had such a loving expression at Mallory it was so adorable and i believe the obi (kimono belt) and folding of the layers is right over left and obi on the right the reverse was reserved for those that have passed away before funeral proceedings. But i may be wrong its been years sense i was in my culture club.
This vlog is amazingly edited (and hurray they're back!). If anyone wasn't sure how tall Stephen was, then 19:41 will answer that. And Mal's reaction to the water from 23:07 is just great
After seeing Mal's art studio tour and now the vlogs, I assume you guys are more or less pretty settled in to your new place! I'm glad to see things slowly but surely returning back to normal after such a hectic time for you guys! ^^
I agree with Stephen, probably shouldn't use the cup everyone else is using 😂 I absolutely love binging the Japan vlogs, these and the previous trip too!
This is already one of my favorite vlogs to date. The double timeline jumping and cinematography combine so well! It also makes me want to go all the more as well.
This vlog has just reinforced how amazing Japan is, and makes me want to go there myself even more. Also foxes are my favorite animals and i audibly squealed when I realized what it was in the clip XD
When I went to Japan I stayed in a ryokan in Kyoto during July, and one of the most memorable moments for me was when there was a sudden rain/thunderstorm when I was inside my room, and with the walls being so thin, it was as if I was outside. Staying at a ryokan was amazing, and the Gion Matsuri festival was happening! Also cool, you saw a little fox :D
I'm pretty sure this is it! I started watching the vlog when this japan trip was being uploaded and this was the very first Stephenvlog I watched! The journey for me at this moment is now complete!! Wait...now what do I do with my life?
I don’t know why, but the song that was playing while you guys were having tea, suddenly made me cry 😢 I wasn’t feeling sad so maybe I am sensitive to that type of music. Bizarre 🤔 Anyway fantastic video and fantastic editing!!😊😊😊😊
Hoping to do an exchange to Japan next year, and I've been looking for an onsen to take my parents to when they visit. This has definitely jumped onto that list!!!
Man, I would so luv to visit Japan someday, and you all had very cool experiences. The artist Haley, Lindsey and Dan met seemed like a really nice guy (sorry didn't catch his name )
This definitely makes a lot more sense if you have seen a lot of anime. My gosh, the winds. I would be very scared to hold that camera so close to the water.
8:37 Japan facts. Japan fact 1: Japan is estimated to be very similar to a country (citation needed). Japan fact 2: Japan is well known for its trees, rocks, and ●●●●●●●. We left all the other facts overseas. Join us next week as we take a look at spoons
Im from mt clemens michigan and we were known for our sulfur mineral baths. The mineral baths dont really exist anymore outside of one place i dont remember the name of
In the capital city of Iceland, all water from all taps in all buildings is eggy due to being natural spring water. I couldn't drink tea or bathe properly in it due to the smell!
There's prolly a blood pressure machine because hot water can cause drastic changes with...well...blood pressure. Ik my moms blood pressure would drop when she would be in our hot tub for too long (she has issues keeping it at a constant rate)

*Q&A QUESTION* My wife and I want to make our own trip to Japan so we can visit her foreign exchange sister from high school. Do you have any advice or tips you'd be willing to share for planning?
tss3393 If you’re going to take a Shinkansen more then once- get a JR rail pass. Make sure you get the one for the whole country and not just a region. It works for a few other things too and it’s slightly more then a round trip Shinkansen between Tokyo and Kyoto. So if you use it twice it was more then worth the cost.
I feel unconfortable without a shirt on; I can't even imagine being naked in a hot spring with other people. Seemed really beautiful and relaxing though. Finally vlogs are trickling out again. Maybe we won't have a new-new timeline after all.
As long as you avert your eyes for the few seconds it takes to disrobe and get in the water, I don't think it would be too awkward. Especially when you consider that a normal hot tub where you wear a bathing suit and sit there with other people still has the same uhhh stuff in the water with you.
I sympathize with height issues. I lived for 2 years in a country where I was usually the tallest person in any given room, and nothing is built for you...

Stephen attempting to sit was honestly one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. Fantastic!
“Tall man tries to sit down” is the skit I never knew I needed.
There needs to be a Supercut of "Stephen and Mal have very different ideas of what Cold is"
Blood pressure machine?! It's like you're back at Sam's! In Japan!
I loved the "elevator music" you had for waiting for the bus. It was perfect for the situation.
Great to see Vlogs coming back again! Try not to overwork yourself!
The Japan vlogs are so well edited. Definitely worth the wait!

29:00 And the miso keeps coming and it don't stop coming, fed to the gills, so I hit the ryokan running... Hey now, Mal's an All-Star.
Congratulations to Hayley for getting to meet Shibasaki, just from the few pictures in the book you showed his art looks gorgeous and I’m really happy that you were able to get a picture with him and that he signed your book for you.

Not everyone can suit purple lipstick, but it fits her really well ^^
@TeruTeruBozusama oh Lindsey definitely rocked the purple lipstick 🙂
:3 d'aw, thanks!!!
How many times did Stephen inadvertently flash Mal while trying to sit without flashing the vlog lol
I'm so appreciative of the work you put in to bring us these beautifully cut, multi-perspective vlogs. I can only imagine how much work it must be.
Glad to see the famous Dan from the Passing Time podcast filming for you today
Beautifully. Done.
19:13 and it's that this moment stephen realizes that the ryokan is definitely not build for people of his height
I'm just a LITTLE bit shorter than him, and I KNOW I would be screwed.
I saw this in my sub box and involuntarily went “aaaaaaaaAAA!”
The clip just before you mal chaz and jeff arrived at the ryokan you just had such a loving expression at Mallory it was so adorable and i believe the obi (kimono belt) and folding of the layers is right over left and obi on the right the reverse was reserved for those that have passed away before funeral proceedings. just like stephen’s reaction at 22:27 !!
Man it’s been ages since I’ve watched the vlog but this was a really good one. Happy late bday to Dan for making the big 3 O.
After seeing Mal's art studio tour and now the vlogs, I assume you guys are more or less pretty settled in to your new place! I'm glad to see things slowly but surely returning back to normal after such a hectic time for you guys! ^^
We got dangerously close to seeing more Stephen than we EVER wanna see today I’m so glad he’s good a editing.
This Vlog is nearly as large as Stephen is
Hey Stephen's favorite, SNOW!
He's baaaack
This vlog and the other japan ones are seeming to be well worth the wait!!!
The hot springs remind me of my time in Iceland.
Their hotsprings are bigger but less on top of a mountain.
This vlog has just reinforced how amazing Japan is, and makes me want to go there myself even more. Also foxes are my favorite animals and i audibly squealed when I realized what it was in the clip XD
Such a memorable vlog with the most beautiful shots yet. Excited to see more soon!
That dinner at the Ryokan looked so good. I'm craving some hot pot now
So jealous of this. I want to go to Japan more than anywhere else.
Glad to see you back! Hope everything hasn’t been too stressful.
Yay! Vlogs are back! Im excited to see more of Japan again!
Yay I've been waiting for another Japan vlog! hopefully this means your life is getting back to normal.
Man, your Japan vlogs make me want to go there so, so badly... what a day in paradise you all had. I'm jealous!
Oh you poor man! :( Too much leg, not enough room. That was sad but ever so slightly funny.
These are beautiful vlogs so glad we get to see the beauty of Japan. And just seeing y’all enjoying it all makes me so happy 😊
Ah, that looked so nice. I hope to try that someday
Ty for bringing back vlogs

2000 meters is approximately 6560 feet.
Multiply meters by 3.281 and that’s how many feet you get.
I'm pretty sure this is it! I started watching the vlog when this japan trip was being uploaded and this was the very first Stephenvlog I watched! The journey for me at this moment is now complete!! Wait...now what do I do with my life?

God japan looks so beautiful.
These vlogs have reignited my love and interest in japan.
I want to visit it someday.

I'm thinking about the Hot Springs in Earthbound! lol!
Woo, the vlogs are back!
What a beautiful vlog!
Oh my gosh, Dan! Stop making me laugh while I'm drinking some water! Lol

Excellent vlog it was awesome
I want to experience going in a hot spring one day!

21:00 Stephen made the anime girl HOMP noise
Yay VLOGS ARE BACK
Yay! Stephen has resurrected!
Stephen drinks water: 22:24
Mal drinks water: 23:07
Stephen using that sex appeal for that clickbait and it worked
Catchup time BEGIN
Maybe the blood pressure machine is meant to measure your blood high in the air? Idk. Just a guess.
What is this new vlog thing Stephen's doing? I thought he just eats toast
Don't forget accidentally creating memes, like P_ _ _ _ (I dare not speak its, name in vain).
@@connormawe01 Ah yes of course, our Lord and Savior P_ _ _ _ as well as the holy vessel known as Surl
Yeah! Things must be back to near normal if vlogs are trickling out again.

29:08 awww He's so cute, I think I'm gonna keep him and gonna name him Pumpkin, cause that's his name.
Super late comment, but those are not enoki mushrooms. Enoki mushrooms are thinner than that and all white.
