While White Star cruise line and Concord are long gone in history books. It's good to know service and luxury is still found in Japan with 1st Class Shinkansen. Hokuriku in particular was designed for quake safety and has even smoother suspension. When I took it, man in front of me had can of soda balancing on window sill. Reminded me of Rolls Royce coin test.
Thank you travelgeek, after watching your videos, I am convinced that Japan has the best train system in the world. Beautiful clean trains with lovely shapes ❤
I was wondering when you were going to see the Snow Monkeys and I wasn't disappointed. It makes sense you combined them with the most gorgeous train I have ever seen. Thank you so much!

Hello! I am a new subscriber from the United States and have been watching all your videos as time allows. I love seeing all the places you go to and the trains that get you there, as well as the various places to stay. Here in the U.S. (according to Google) we have one high-speed train... "Amtrak's Acela (reaching 150 mph, 240 km/h) is the US’s only high-speed rail service." Maybe one day I will get to experience it.
There are plans for high speed rail in Texas, but I don't remember the connection points at the moment, but recall reading that they will be using Shinkansen. People are complaining about it being dumb as it will be expensive and the time to drive vs. train. Sometimes it's about the journey, not how long it takes to get there. I wish there was more rail in USA.
Truly enjoy your videos. Thank you for allowing to live vicariously through your videos as I doubt I would ever get to visit your area of the world. The only time I have ever been on a train is at an amusement park like Disneyland. The network of public transportation you have in Japan is mind blowing to me. So very cool. Thank you for sharing your country with us. Keep up the good work!

I love all your videos! Thank you for sharing them! Allows me to "travel" to Japan! I would love to visit, I just have to get on a plane (hard for me). ❤
Hi from USA, I enjoy your videos. We very poor passenger rail service here (Goverment run) Amtrak is the only interstate train service the fastest is the Acela which I believe can get top speed to 135mph but only in limited areas ,as far as I know the Brightline is the only private rail system but runs only intrastate. I live in a state with no passenger rail service at all except for an Amtrak line on the very western edge of the state with one major station.
@@roncaruso931That’s not quite correct. Amtrak is ran for-profit, but is owned and operated by the federal government. It is funded by just under $7 billion dollars of public funds. The Secretary of Transportation is literally on the board of Amtrak.
Amtrak is a federally chartered corporation, with the federal government as majority stockholder. The Amtrak Board of Directors is appointed by the President of the United States and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Amtrak is operated as a for-profit company, rather than a public authority.
In France we have T.G.V. and the speed allowed is 350 kilometers in one hour but only when the rails can bear such speed ! I like all yours videos ! Domo arigato.
Hokuriku has most modern suspension of any HSR. It's design is way smoother than Tokkaido or TGV. It's final word is HSR technology until next generations.
In the Netherlands, max speed is 300 km/h for Eurostar. But it's technical speed. The realistic maximum speed we have right now is 160 km/h. 200 km/h for ICNG, but each time I was going to Rotterdam, we got a spare train.
Hi, I‘m from Germany, fastest ICE is ICE/V (406km/h); regular ICE3 travels 320/330km/h. German Transrapid runs 505km/h, but it’s a magnetic levitation train.
Hi, from Italy. We have 4 High Speed Lines: Freccia Rossa (max 300km/h), Freccia Rossa 1000 (max 400km/h), Freccia Argento (250km/h) and Italo EVO (low co2 emissions) (max 250km/h).
I’ve just caught up! I’ve watched (and liked) every video you have posted. I really enjoy them very much. My friend who is Japanese tells me driving is the worse in Japan-very dangerous she says. Is that true? She lives in America now but recently visited family over the holidays. I hope to visit Japan one day. ❤ thank you so much!

Hi: In Spain the "High speed" which is what fast trains are called reaches a maximum of 330kh. There are three types of trains. AVE from the Spanish public company, Avlo, which is the low-cost company, of RENFE, which is what the Spanish public train company is called, and two private ones, one is called UIGO and is low-cost, there is a French company, and then there is Yryo is an Italian railway company, and it is the only one that uses Japanese suspension, the rest European.
Great trip. The Shinkansen is great, but the Yukemuri Limited Express is interesting for me. Is there any secret stairs to Driver cabin? Because looks like the Driver Cabin is very cramped.
Hi i started watching your videos last year and love the capsule hotels, i live in England and our fastest train is 0mph as they are on strike half the time or cancelled
Hello ! n 2007, a converted train reached a speed of 574.8 km/h on the new LGV Est Européenne. SNCF, Eurostar and Thalys trains travel between 300 and 320 km/h depending on the section Thank you for the video
To imagine this in Eastern EU, where you get sick just by touching the train toilet handle, is like winning the lottery. This is one of the things why i want to experience Japan at least once.
In Australia, the maximum speed in passenger service is about 160km/h. With a population of 25.5 million people in an area of the continental USA, it'd be way too expensive to build anything like the Shinkansen. I shudder at how much it would cost to travel on it.
Why are the windows in Shinkansens so small? Granted a lot of the journey is beside concrete barriers, but there's still some nice views to be had. The design philosophy seems to be to make them as much like an aeroplane as possible
@travelgeekphotography, I really love your vids, they each are bringing me closer and closer to Japan. Something about this video feels very, very strange and unsettling to me. It’s entirely your style, your artistic eye… but it’s also too perfect. The rule of thirds, the lens flare and blurs, the finishing lighting and color composition. It’s too precise. It almost hurts my eyes st some points. Is this AI? How much, just edit, full concept? So so strange
In the netherland high speed line/ ok call in the Netherland intercity direct between breda and schiphol max km per hour 200.
