Suzuki fan must try a Vitara 1.6 GLX.. or GL+, he can get one around R200 000, Kizashi is a good car but old now and tyres are expensive and has a big engine and a big fuel tank....will be costly to run.

I agree thats a good option, however he may want the sedan body style. With that said the Ciaz is a good option as well. Very fuel efficient and a smooth ride.

Great program, especially liked the answer for the last question, the wick has been lit on the bomb, do you want to be around when its gone off?
For the person who wanted the Kizashi, no, while it was a good car you can as the hosts said get newer stuff with less of a parts issue. You could also look into the Ciaz, the car's successor.
The person who had the 500k budget, the Cannon would be the better choice as it has a longer service plan and it has the longest tray in the segment. The Mahindra is also good but to me it looks like they were trying to copy the 70 series Lancruiser, which is already an ugly pickup.
Tiidas have another problem, sensor issues, to fix these often requires a costly engine teardown and they occur very frequently. I wish i got rid of mine alot sooner than I did.

I have a 2014 Audi A4 with 225 000 kilometers and never had issues. The car was serviced with a dealer for the first 100 000 kilometers under a service plan and had the water pump changed under warranty.
Thereafter I have serviced the car myself and had the timing chain changed at 200 kilometers.
The car has the 3rd generation EA888 engine and is the best 1.8 turbo in its segment.
And no, I am not lucky. Secondly, there are no inherent flaws in the design of the engine. Most modern timing chain systems use hard plastics. The most important thing is to have the oil changes done at the recommended intervals of 15 000 kilometers and not go beyond.

In my experience, almost every person who tries to claim their german sedan has been running xyz miles "problem free" are always omitting certain details. And when you grill them further, those certain details end up slipping out.
Like how one person can claim their m3 is reliable and they have done nothing but basic maintenance in 5 years, but after questioning them further they finally admit that they replace fuel injectors or water pumps... and the reason they did not mention this earlier is because they believe it is part of "basic maintenance" to replace fuel injectors or water pumps.
At least in your case you admitted from the beginning that you are basically a mechanic. So A normal car owner reading your comment should not think that an A4 being trouble free for a mechanic, will be trouble free for someone who depends on the dealer for maintenance.

I am getting a cam position sensor error on my 2013 A4 with 250k on clock.. for about a year now.. Mechanic picks this up on his diagnostic but no warning lights on dash. I have been driving the car like this with only issue that it is hesitant on take off.. It feels almost like a delayed feedback to gearbox before it actually moves.. Sometimes up to 3 second but other times it takes off smoothly without any delay..I have the car for 7 years now and it's been like that ever since I got it.. The input shaft bearing on gearbox was replaced at 94k but this symptom of delay has more or less been there ever since I got the car as the second owner in 2016 with mileage of 90k. Would appreciate any advice regarding this.. Timing change was never changed. Other than the usual replacement of cooling system parts the car has been running fine

Look about what you need to do to sell or trade in the car. I had a Tiida(not the same price bracket i know) and I loved that car and drove it for around a decade, however it gave me also of sensor and alternator problems but I refused to part with it. That mistake cost me in being able to upgrade to a newer car during the Halcyon days when spending 200k could get you a top spec car. While the new cars were passing me by I was sinking more funds in the Tiida. Point is as time goes by these days prices are going up as much as the interest rates, if you can get out of the Audi money pit, take it.

Have the timing chain changed now or sell. Cost me about 20k to have that done at audi dealership with discount. Sorry can't help with gearbox issue.
