Quick correction for Racing Bulls, they moved their aerodynamics department from Bicester to Milton Keynes. The mechanical engineering, manufacturing department and factory still remain in Faenza.
Yes, I should have been more specific on this one. Thanks for clarifying.
I think its kind of sad that all motorsport is getting clustered in the UK.
C'mon it's probably the only thing the UK has going for it at this stage.
@@wasdwasdwwasdwe have general decline going for us as well
@@wasdwasdwwasd sadly that's their to our politics being stupid
It is an amazing opportunity to work in F1 which will be a great stand out on your CV.
Switzerland has comparatively low tax and very high salaries, even measured by their high cost of living. So from the perspective of prospective employees it's actually really attractive - just ask all the multi-national companies headquartered there. They got no problems attracting talent.
But it's still useful to have someone on the ground where you want to recruit from, to establish contacts in universities, job fairs, etc. To my mind, the "UK outpost" should be mainly used for that and to funnel the top people to Hinwil. Actually splitting development is rarely a good idea, but it doesn't sound like that's what they plan on doing (at least not in a major way).
High salary low tax might be good for employees but the budget cap is still „the same“ for every team.
@@bsport320 Well, the adjustment mechanism should take care of that, at least roughly.
And let's be honest, if that was the sole consideration everyone would be running their F1 team from [insert_actual_low_wage_country_here]
. Globally, the UK is quite expensive too, or at least there's many, many, many options where you could run a team cheaper.
But in any case, yeah, I was saying employee and not employer for a reason. ;)
More jobs for UK's engineering sector? Yes please! UK now has massive amount of engineering talents but not enough roles to fill. It's what people call a overqualify crisis, a lot of qualified young people has to work in restaurants or become Ubar dirvers. I come from an automotive engineering background, has a PhD in CFD and aerodynamics, but I still can't find any job in automotive and motorsport industry in UK and had to work in restarant once. I now do a job that's unrelated to automitve and racing but at least in engineering sector. Hopefully I can fulfill my dream one day when the job market gets better.
