It's not that it tastes good, it's that he's poison man, so he has to eat poison!!! What would poison man be if he didn't eat poison? Not poison man, I can tell you that much.
Ok, so the "I used too much poison" after dealing with luffy, take is a bit different from what I imagine. He said fight poison with poison. Meaning he isn't tolerant to it at all. He's using the poison in his body already to fight the poison he eats. This time, he probably ate poison as he normally does, but this time, he didn't have his large reserve of poison to help. So, in turn, since the poison he used to help him eat was used up. The poison he was eating was even more poisonous than normal for him. Hence, the particularly bad time on the toilet.
Do you remember just how cruel the impel down punishments are, and Magellan explicitly thinks that is fine and it's unacceptable for people to escape that torture. I don't care if every person in impel down is completely cartoonishly evil those punishments would still be unacceptable.
I will mention that everyone put into Impel Down are the most hardened of criminals. Rapists, serial killers, *actual* pirates not heroes playing Pirate like Luffy, ect. These aren't political prisoners or some kid locked up on drug charges. These are people that would get the Death Penalty but the government has decided that is too *light* of a punishment.
Just a reminder that Magellan was going to "end his subscription to life" as self punishment for -- I'm using this term lightly -- allowing prisoners to escape. Sengoku talked him into only stepping down as warden. Magellan hasn't regressed. Hannyabal is warden only in title. Magellan still runs shit (pun intended).
I think Pica could make a pretty decent warden or vice-warden for impel down. I could see that dynamic between Pica and Magellan, it would be absolute GOLD! Magellan on the toilet and Pica reporting to him through the wall..... would be amazing.
Senior pink and Franky made a promise to see each other again, and Franky knows senior pink is so manly he's not gonna die until they have adrink like bros
I hope the Seraphim clone of Crocodile possess the artificial Venom-Venom Fruit from Magellan's Lineage Factor as Vegapunk explained he was unable to replicate Logias. Plus it's a reference to Crocodile using poison at the tip of his golden hook against Luffy in Alabasta Saga.
That would be really cool, especially because like the swim fruit we probably won’t have another reason to see the venom fruit in the story again and it’s too interesting to be forgotten. Would also show how Luffy has grown if he encounters it again
My opinion has always been, Magellan was Adrimal level, if not the strongest, if he didnt need to be on a toilet constantly. While not the absolute best, Impel down was the best place they could put him and use his powers while allowing easy access to toliets
Here's a comment I left on Merphy's video because I forgot how to properly word it. Magellan's diarrhea is thematically brilliant. He is inherently poisoned, so he fights that poison with more poison which gives him the screaming squits. This reflects the world government fighting crime and corrupted individuals with their own brand of toxicity that corrupts the entire world (or host body). As a result is a never ending cycle of chaos and violence that causes more waste to be dispelled into the bottom of the sea.
Makes sense that he's been quiet. The place where he absolutely needs to be in is Impel Down to keep the most dangerous pirates in the world from breaking out. It would be weird for him to have a role outside because then, who the hell is gaurding the prison?
He's not a villain, He just defended himself the whole arc and did his job. I was on his side the whole arc, and it hurt so much that he got hurt because of Luffy and blackbeard. I love him madly as a character, and I'm sorry that many people are only interested in his strength, but no one cares how good he is.
Magellan's power almost worked against him in terms of his infamy. Because he was so strong that most didn't dare to pick a fight with him directly. And those few that did got their asses handed to them.
I remember that while watching I felt so frustaded by Magellan, he was always on top of Luffy and it seems that he was always one step ahead. But in the end I felt legit sorry for him, because he did his job to the best of his abillities, if he was a trigger happy man like Shiryu he would probably had won, but his honor cost him a lot
Magellan is admiral level or beyond. You'd expect the head warden/overseer of the main prison of a pirate verse to be top tier and that's exactly what Oda has done allowing Magellan to steamroll BB pirates and Luffy.
Admiral level characters would not be brought down to their knees from a pre-timeskip Gear 2 Luffy without Haki, hes 3rd commander level at best. This is being generous and assuming he also knows how to use Haki, Magellan is carried by his DF.
@@SUPERVEGETTO92 acting like jet bazooka isn't an incredibly high damage attack and blackbeard literally says luffys haki has improved when they interact 🤔 🤔 luffy just couldn't knowingly channel haki but that doesnt mean it wasn't present.
Man with constant diarrhea takes a brief kneee after a gut punch; big suprise. Diarrhea isn't a durability issue. Also Shiryu knows Magellan and was able to save the Blackbeard crew by getting the correct antidote despite Magellan's multitude of different venoms. Shiryu can stage a clever suprise attack with help, especially since he was supposed to be comparable to Magellan begin with (although he did previously lose)

Magellan is the name of the Portuguese Admiral that started the first circum-navigation around the World for the Spanish crown. He was killed in the Philippines by locals.
I agree the marines were preparing for a “ WAR “ but to think they couldn’t sacrifice one vice admiral or even a captain or two to go off on a specific mission seems like a stretch. Like the prison could lead to a second front of pirates of it fully fell
my theory is that magellan's poison hydra/demon things maybe an actually sentient so he may actually have multiple personalities each one representing a demon mind. idk if I cooked or got cooked writing this.
I think the fact that fans don’t remember Magellan says more about them than it does about him. Yea he was weird and narratively flopped but in any other context he would have been an unbeatable antagonist.
My favorite thing about Magellan was his uncompromising sense of duty and his pride in his (almost perfect) work. He used terror as a tool against rowdy, lawless and mostly criminal prisoners, but he didn't revel and relish killing or harming any of them. He was also a great boss to work for and Hannybal shed many tears for him resigning despite having plotted for years to take his spot. His underlings adore and worship him (yes, even Hannyabal the Tsundere). I think Magellan was one of the best villains (my favorite) because I sympathized with him and his motivations even more than Luffy in the Impel Down arc - he was doing his very important job of holding the worst criminals of the world at bay, and Luffy came and ruined it. His sense of duty also reminds me of one of my other favorite villians in cinema - Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men. Magellan definitely deserves A tier.
I love how Golden Lion Shiki Cut his legs off and left them, when he could've taken them and have his legs put back on with his powers and have it heal right back over time.
Iv always imagined bon awakened his devil fruit wich I expect to do 1 of 3 things 1: can make copies of himself 2: can change other ppl Or 3 both. It would definitely cause a ton of confusion letting bon escape and become the new leader taking Eva's place and being able to change ppl would make it more fitting.
He is my favorite antagonist in one piece and one of my favorite characters in fact is fruit is my dream fruit in the game blox fruits aside from bon clay I personally believe Mr 3 was the MVP of the prison ark he was the only one who could defend against Magellan's poison even if it was just for a couple of seconds
Headcanon: Another prisoner escape happens (probably Doflamingo). Sakazuki is furious that such a thing has happened twice and Impel Downs reputation is ruined, as punishment he decides to make Magellan an Admiral and sends him to the front line. We see Luffy come face to face with Magellan again.
Appreciate the Magellan recognition. Genuinely one of my favorite characters that would be a threat to anyone. One of the few df I want to see returning post time skip.

Had Magellan decided to spice his food with venom instead of poison he’d probably wouldn’t be on the dunny as much, that’s if he’s able to produce venom that is. Honestly I love Magellan but he also scares me.
I look at the design of Magellan and i remember fondly the time i had using the V2 Magellan in the One Piece Treasure Cruise game. First through the normal gameplay, then through his early staple inclusion on the QCK/blue pvp mode team.
I mean luffy beat ceasar clown and he stated that his poison is much more lethal than Magellan’s and luffy had built a tolerance therefore post timeskip luffy wipes floor with Magellan
Tis a shame. Impel Down is one of my favorite arcs and Magellan is one of my favorite villains. I think what i liked was even though he was a monster for torturing and outright murdering inmates, these people were "criminals". Also his whole scariness was a facade, but he produces results when it's needed
I think B is a fair assessment for Magellan. Side note: He's very fun to play as in Pirate Warriors 3. I wish his agoraphobia came into play as a gameplay mechanic though, like how Sanji can't do any damage to female characters.
You’re telling me a guy with diarrhea 10 hours a day… a guy who is holed up doing nothing 20 hours a day…a guy with every weird quirk in the series, managed to pull one of the biggest baddies sadie-Chan. Bro there’s hope for us all
Magellan main weakness is that you can use some products to survive from his poison, which is stupid because even irl we have creatures with toxins we can't do anything against, to think he can't do a "living" poison that changes constantly in the victim's body is like sayin akainu can't make flames.. Magellan def have the power of an admiral, but not quite the range, yet unless his poison spreading even to object is his awakening, he's not even at his max power.
I like Magellan, he’s a hard worker who does his job well. I feel bad for how everything goes to shit and he was so close to catching everyone. I do wonder what Crocodiles abilities could’ve done against poison. Like throwing kitty litter on a spill? I feel Crocodile’s abilities are OP but never utilized to its full capabilities. Just collapse the walls and bury him.
I would like to see Spandam ranked next. Yes, Rob Lucci is the biggest threat of the Water Seven Saga, but he's Spandam's underling. The events that transpired at Water Seven and Enies Lobby were his doing. He was responsible for framing Tom, conspired multiple assassination plots on Iceburg, blackmailed Robin by threatening Luffy with the buster call, and physically abused her when restrained. All this just to acquire the ancient weapon Pluton (or at least the blueprints for it) for the fame and glory.
I'd argue the mistake of freeing Shiryu was that Magellan put him towards the entrance, to an unknown enemy. Blackbeard had no prior Bounty (to becoming a Samurai). He even had the thought that BB was plotting something Magellan would've had way more control over everything in the prison if he'd have had swept up from up to down, imo^^' ALSO: Magellan (the WARDEN, not the executioner of Impel Down) letting Bon Clay live (or rather letting him die due to poison or the prison conditions) IS IN CHARACTER. Bruh probably punched Mr2 with or without poison, but if with poison, It's highly likely it was his typical Lv1 Nerve Poison, same one against Luffy & Blackbeard. Would be one of the easiest things, to steal that Antidote, the wardens have it stocked up to the brim. E.g. Shiryu took some. Or the Wardens used it on Hannyabal. Probably almost on the daily. 🤔 Luffy just put up a way stronger fight & thus needed way stronger poison.
"to recognise a poison attack because he had experienced it previously..." yes, but... he still thought Hancock was going to 'slow slow' him based on that concept...
I'd recommend either Senor Pink or Charlotte Katakuri for two reasons; 1. Both have "Tragic" backstories on their fashion taste. (Loss of child and the scars on his face) and 2. These villains earned the respect of the Straw hats that were fighting them (Luffy and Franky)
Gorosei:”what makes you qualified to be the new Warden of Impel Down” Hannyable:”I only need a single 15 minute bathroom break most days” Gorosei:”you’re hired!”
I like the diarrhea idea because it basically set a time limit on everything Luffy did. As the arc went on and more factors were introduced, the more likely it was that Magellan would forgo his potty break to get involved. WHICH IS THE ONE WE DIDN’T WANT
I feel like if luffy had a rematch he would win. Because he can now attack without touching and is one hell of a fighter with his immunity to poisen. Venom demon might be a problem tho

So, in turn, since the poison he used to help him eat was used up. The poison he was eating was even more poisonous than normal for him. Hence, the particularly bad time on the toilet.
Because he isn't a villain. He is a antagonist
Do you remember just how cruel the impel down punishments are, and Magellan explicitly thinks that is fine and it's unacceptable for people to escape that torture. I don't care if every person in impel down is completely cartoonishly evil those punishments would still be unacceptable.
@@jamesmasse5794 meh 1700s punishments go hard.

Impel Down Syndrome
Down Syndrome.
His sh*t runs? Man, that must be a tough time at the can.
@@justguy-4630 I mean he's called diarrhea man for a reason 🤣🤣
@@justguy-4630 I mean, that's why he's called "diarrhea man" after all 🤣🤣🤣
After rewatching impel down, I can confirm the fights between Maggie and Luffy are some of the most stressful battles in the whole series 😂
I think Pica could make a pretty decent warden or vice-warden for impel down. I could see that dynamic between Pica and Magellan, it would be absolute GOLD! Magellan on the toilet and Pica reporting to him through the wall..... would be amazing.
i like how vegapunk told franky “dont worry hes in impel down not dead”💀
Senior pink and Franky made a promise to see each other again, and Franky knows senior pink is so manly he's not gonna die until they have adrink like bros
seriously tho, Magellan and Luffy are in truest sense two opposite forces. freedom vs prison.
He was REALLY a guy JUST doing his job with the runs and aren't we ALLL just a guy trying to do Their jobs with the runs
Gear 5 Luffy: *exists*
Magellan: "Nah, I'd win."
what if gear 5 luffy eats magellan
Then he gonna sit in the toilet for 10 hours
@@FvogmageIt doesn't sound he will have much freedom then.
glad to see Impel down getting the recognition it deserves. That SHIT was FUNNY AS HELL. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That, or a Zoan of crocodile, just because he ran out of ideas XD
Crocodile is most badass warlord even as a seraphim. I hope he has that fruit
That would be really cool, especially because like the swim fruit we probably won’t have another reason to see the venom fruit in the story again and it’s too interesting to be forgotten. Would also show how Luffy has grown if he encounters it again
"Impel Down Syndrome" is a truly underrated pun.
My opinion has always been, Magellan was Adrimal level, if not the strongest, if he didnt need to be on a toilet constantly. While not the absolute best, Impel down was the best place they could put him and use his powers while allowing easy access to toliets
"The first demon before the Gorosei"
Oars wants to know your position.
He lost later to the whole upgraded blackbeard group, who completly lost to akainu. He is insanly strong pretimeskip, but definitly not posttime skip
Stop the copium bro. Magellan is now a fodder to current luffy
A rematch between Magellan and current Luffy would probably surprise him, just imagine his reaction to a contactless CoC sandal to the face
But then Luffy learned to punch something without punching anything.
*The following are the musings of a Salty SEAGULL named EARL who just shows up in my posts whenever he feels like it!*
[EARL the Salty SEAGULL:] 0:14 - "Magellan's greatest enemy other than his battles on the toilet is none other than Poison Pink of Germa 66 as her ability to consume poison is better than his own as she doesn't suffer from diarrhea after consuming poison! Basically she's the one woman that Impel Down can never contain!"
love your vids bro so entertaining
Magellan is the name of the Portuguese Admiral that started the first circum-navigation around the World for the Spanish crown.
He was killed in the Philippines by locals.
Great Vid as always.
Can you do Kaku's best friend Robert Lucci next?
I agree the marines were preparing for a “ WAR “ but to think they couldn’t sacrifice one vice admiral or even a captain or two to go off on a specific mission seems like a stretch. Like the prison could lead to a second front of pirates of it fully fell
my theory is that magellan's poison hydra/demon things maybe an actually sentient so he may actually have multiple personalities each one representing a demon mind.
idk if I cooked or got cooked writing this.
07:14 I had to google "drop bear" I was not disappointed!
Impel down was my favorite ark! So underrated!
Amazing work! The Villains tier list videos are amazing! I would like to see Caesar Clown in the future episode of the tier list!
Fun fact. The first chapter of impel down got rejected by Shonen Jump because it didn't have enough comedy to balance the gore & seriousness.
I think the fact that fans don’t remember Magellan says more about them than it does about him. Yea he was weird and narratively flopped but in any other context he would have been an unbeatable antagonist.
if Maggie wasnt stuck on the toilet for half the arc Luffy would LOSE.
1:23 lmao currently playing diablo 4
I love how Golden Lion Shiki Cut his legs off and left them, when he could've taken them and have his legs put back on with his powers and have it heal right back over time.
Imagine if magellan decides to go on a diet
Iv always imagined bon awakened his devil fruit wich I expect to do 1 of 3 things
1: can make copies of himself
2: can change other ppl
Or 3 both.
I like the idea that Magellan’s poison is just highly concentrated fabuloso
Appreciate the Magellan recognition. Genuinely one of my favorite characters that would be a threat to anyone. One of the few df I want to see returning post time skip.

Magellan is Just a working class man, who is doing really hard work.
I bet he is a good man and not a villain.
Its his Job to keep highly criminal beings under Supervision.
IBS King
I mean luffy beat ceasar clown and he stated that his poison is much more lethal than Magellan’s and luffy had built a tolerance therefore post timeskip luffy wipes floor with Magellan
And I can't defeat sleep 😅
Tis a shame. Impel Down is one of my favorite arcs and Magellan is one of my favorite villains. I think what i liked was even though he was a monster for torturing and outright murdering inmates, these people were "criminals". Also his whole scariness was a facade, but he produces results when it's needed
ah yes, diarrhea man, not the hero we deserve but the hero we also don't need
I think B is a fair assessment for Magellan. Side note: He's very fun to play as in Pirate Warriors 3. I wish his agoraphobia came into play as a gameplay mechanic though, like how Sanji can't do any damage to female characters.
Just took a piss

Magellan main weakness is that you can use some products to survive from his poison, which is stupid because even irl we have creatures with toxins we can't do anything against, to think he can't do a "living" poison that changes constantly in the victim's body is like sayin akainu can't make flames.. Magellan def have the power of an admiral, but not quite the range, yet unless his poison spreading even to object is his awakening, he's not even at his max power.
This is most dislike comment 😢

I like Magellan, he’s a hard worker who does his job well. I feel bad for how everything goes to shit and he was so close to catching everyone. I do wonder what Crocodiles abilities could’ve done against poison. Like throwing kitty litter on a spill? I feel Crocodile’s abilities are OP but never utilized to its full capabilities. Just collapse the walls and bury him.
🥇 First
I like how the entire arc it was pretty much one of their main goals to steer clear of magellan
I bet you’re so busy when chapters coming out. Always surprises me how good these videos are. You and your editors deserve an award.
I'd argue the mistake of freeing Shiryu was that Magellan put him towards the entrance, to an unknown enemy.
Blackbeard had no prior Bounty (to becoming a Samurai).
He even had the thought that BB was plotting something
Magellan would've had way more control over everything in the prison if he'd have had swept up from up to down, imo^^'
ALSO:
Magellan (the WARDEN, not the executioner of Impel Down) letting Bon Clay live (or rather letting him die due to poison or the prison conditions) IS IN CHARACTER.
🤔
Luffy just put up a way stronger fight & thus needed way stronger poison.
"to recognise a poison attack because he had experienced it previously..." yes, but... he still thought Hancock was going to 'slow slow' him based on that concept...
The man who defeated three yonkos in one day🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥💯💯
Luffy and Buggy were nobodies at that point in the story .
Magellan DID NOT need to free the most bloodthirsty prisoner he had
Surprised you didn't make a reference to the comedic "$hit demon" from Dogma with Jay and Silent Bob.
I'd recommend either Senor Pink or Charlotte Katakuri for two reasons;
1. Both have "Tragic" backstories on their fashion taste. (Loss of child and the scars on his face)
and
2. These villains earned the respect of the Straw hats that were fighting them (Luffy and Franky)
Gorosei:”what makes you qualified to be the new Warden of Impel Down” Hannyable:”I only need a single 15 minute bathroom break most days” Gorosei:”you’re hired!”
He was pretty OP in the story placement since he was able to body all of BlackBeards' crew and non of them had fights yet
