You're probably the same age as me, and we probably played this when we were the same age. It made no sense and was kinda boring. At the time I don't think we were the demographic.
Dude the sentinel from X men 2 gave me nightmares. When I finally made it up and the sentinel’s face was revealed with its mouth open wide, I screamed and shut my genesis off lol I was probably 5 or 6
English isn't my first language so I remember my dad just translate stuffs with me when I was kid. I don't understand the game at all and lost on the second part of the map with crystals cause I can't read lol but now rewatching this.... 25yrs later.... wow, that's how easy it is. I wish I have my old sega genesis. I love going back to all my games.

I didn’t remember how difficult these games were until I purchased a Sega genesis and some original games. A lot of games from those times were really difficult, really difficult to play or figure out as an adult. I can’t imagine how it would be for a child who didn’t have access to the Internet and the massive amount of information out there. All I know is that it brings back a lot of memories because we didn’t have the Internet then, or it was very slow and in its infancy, all we had was a controller and a small TV and a cool game to play for as long as our parents would let us.
I beat this game when it came out, and I don't know how I did it... maybe it was a crumpled gamepro mag. But I do remember some games that were just insanely difficult... like Maximum Carnage, pretty sure I put some dents on my controller with that mess.

@@dmmvfurtado6133The Medusa level is really annoying. I sort of just wait for it to move towards the right side and then try to swim up the left water path thing as fast as possible. Medusa usually gets in the way after that too, but if you fight against it for a bit, it might let go and move away a little, which gives you a chance to progress. The hardest part is probably controlling Ecco precisely enough, because it's really easy to slip up with the d-pad and fall off because of that. It also doesn't help that you can't immediately retry beacuse the game sends you back to Skyway. That's when I reset the console and input the password for the level (obviously you could just save state at the start of the level on an emulator), which gets very annoying very quickly.

The little mini levels with the rings have always freaked me out. Hell this whole game was scary lol

I played Ecco when I was around 17 (I think) and I loved it 🩵🐬
The faux 3d sections blew my mind as a kid.
This was a great sequel, and I could pretend it was homework by playing it in French. Fuck that Globe Holder level though, got crushed so many times!

Epic nostalgic music & graphic
