Hello Santiago. I hope you can help. I am trying to decide between Chamberlain and LiftMaster garage door openers. I have standard 7' doors, one double door and one single door. Contractor is offering the LM 84504R and 87504, but will also install the Chamberlain comparable models such as the B6753T and the B4655T. Contractor is saying the LM, which is quite a bit more expensive is much better quality and also has a one-piece rail which is much more durable and sturdy. I am totally confused at this point and would love some good advice. Thanks.
Hello! Thank you so much for your question. Yes I believe the LiftMaster is a higher quality product. Specifically because there are more metal parts and the design is better for certain applications. Nevertheless because price does vary from regions region it may not make sense to go with the proline motor if you can get a substantial discount in the retail openers from chamberlain. The real assembly for the retail openers are fine and will work well. I don't necessarily think they're poor quality. But you can tell the difference sometimes with them as you install the openers and over time they can wear. Nevertheless have the confidence that with either brand you will get a quality experience. You just have to determine which fits your needs better. And of course how much you want to spend.
Hi, I'm looking for a really good opener , thats quiet , almost silent, and with a 1 piece rail preferbly , i really like the build of the Hormann opener but cant find a dealer in Fl. Can you recommend an opener that is the same quality?
Would you say this or the 87504 is quieter? In the 87504 review you mentioned the housing rattles. Does this model suffer from the same problem? Is the motor louder?
Thanks for the review. We just yesterday had an 87504R installed. We were a bit upset paying more for the camera (and the backup battery), since we have 5 4K cameras in our security system and the house is backed up with Tesla Powerwall batteries. I wish the made a belt driven cheaper version without some of these features. And I gather all openers in CA must now have a battery backup. But all in all, the opener seems to work well and the light around the bottom is nice and bright. BTW, do you know if I remove the backup battery will the opener still work?
Did you know that the new ones made after 4/2022 will no long have the feature which turns the lights on with door up when the beam between the safety sensors is broken ?
Another great video! I own Apple Door of Chesapeake, and you ionspire to start creating some videos like these also. These are awesome. You do a great job annd I learn a lot and apprecaite them!
Hello Tony! Thank you so much for your kind words. I love your company name! And yes, we do need more videos offering different perspectives of garage door opener motors. I look forward to seeing your videos.
I believe the camera is included without an option is due to the motor having the Amazon Key feature which allows Amazon to drop off packages and groceries inside of your garage while you are away. I personally like this feature but not without the camera.
Hello! Thank you so much for your feedback. Yes and I see a number of benefits for that same reason. Yet many of my customers do not have the Amazon key set up for their garage. Most of them simply prefer the camera for surveillance.
We gave up on installing these once they started putting cameras in them because the 87504 isnt a whole lot more expensive and you get a lot more from that motor, i installed an 84505R recently on one of the test doors in our building and wasn't really impressed with it, there's not really enough differentiation between this and the 87504. They should have left the camera out and kept the ac motor imo
Had a new house built about two years ago, the builder installed two lift master door openers he commented that the openers weren't very good ,l didn't think anything of it until having these openers for awhile and he was correct quality is a definite problem, the range of the transmitters is not good a person almost has to be right up against the door for the transmitters to work, after trying new batteries in the transmitters did no good, even installed an extender antenna to the outside l wouldn't buy this brand again
Very helpful information. Thank you.

I have the Raynor version of this without tbe hd camera. I guess liftmaster also makes raynor as well. Its a great opener.

Thanks for your question. What type and size of garage door will this opener operate?
How hard is it to change the LED light in the chamberlains?
Very good questions. I have yet to replace the LED, thus in good conscience I couldn't tell you the difficulty level.
Does this come with the rail when you buy it? Thanks
Excellent question. If you purchase it from a dealer installer or directly from the manufacturer you should be able to get the one piece rail for it.
Hey Santiago what’s the better option a genie 7155 - TKV or a genie Mach force connect
The 7155-TKV from Lowe's or Amazon. Not the Home Depot version.
@@sosgds thank you

Do you think this is a solid motor that well last a while?
The new 87504R’s camera does not rotate anymore. I wish they would have made this exact model without the camera, like a WLED/ 8550
You can't turn them on the 87504 anymore either?
@@TBHD724 nope. not on the R versions.
Oh damn any idea why they changed it?
@@TBHD724 save money I assume by using same camera.
I was not aware of this.
Santiago, this looks like a step down from the 87504
Technically it is, yet the motor does have some strengths that might make it a better choice for those on a budget.
They should of asked you my friend about the LEDs. Lol
LOL! They won't listen to me. I do love this opener. Do you like it?
Unfortunately this model no longer has battery backup
Interesting. On LiftMasters' site they still offer this opener with a BBU. They also offer the 84505R which does not come with a Batter Back Up.
@@sosgdsOh you are right. Apologies. I was looking at the 84505R. Can you help me with my question below?
Hello! What's your question again?

Still better than any Genie Product.
Thank you for always being loyal Sam!
