I did the genie jackshaft, which was really similar in price and spec, one thing i noticed here is that the liftmaster needs a wire run to the touch panel for opening, the genie uses a battery powered wireless controller. In 3 years ive replaced the battery one time, Jackshafts really are the way to go, they are really quiet and give extra height over the center of the doors to accommodate lifts. I couldn't be happier with mine.
I knew it was going to be an awesome video when I saw “LiftMaster 98022” in the title… the TH-cam algorithm is loving this one! Although the whole ice cream vlog with little to no ice cream is kind of a let down but I assume Mike had fans approaching him non stop while he was eating the ice cream the old man’s a damn celebrity people.

It's all about spelling and the nuances of the term "Big Dog". I can see Matty allowing an occasional "Matt the Big Dog" reference, but the chances he'd allow it to have the southern drawl of "Matt the Bigg Dawg", isn't going to happen. As he so eloquently put in a video, "The guys that would do that are the type of guys that have Coors Light signs in their garage". A phrase I'll carry with me through life. So perfect.
1:14 - I have to get this out of my head. The pedantic in me won't let the movie-maker in me use terms like "film maker", "film", or "footage" when making digital productions. Instead of "footage" I've been saying "bitage". I think the original "recording" is fine in place of "filming" since you are still making a record of the events, etc. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
I have to say I had nothing but problems with the new Liftmaster 98022. I had to uninstall it and go back to my center mount opener. My other door has the old 8500 and never had a problem with it in 14 years.
In Canada there is only room for one in-between a double garage. It was be a great invention if you could install one to both and have it control spinningeft vs right one at a time.
Once again, great home update video. Big fan here. I have been following OG for the last few years. Why did you choose the 98022 over the 98032? Any problems since installing these?
I didn't know there was a different model. The little door is 100%. The bigger door seems to have closing issues every 10 or so operations. It senses too much closing force.
looks like it had cat 5 wirring you didnt have to run to wall station wire its a complicated when i try to explain it . but it works great i been in the industry for 8 years now my own company for 2
What is the width of one of the LiftMaster units please? My garage doors might be wide enough apart to fit one between them and power both doors. Thanks.
Hello Matt. Congratulations on everything you do and continued success. Tell me why you leave the water pipes exposed? I enlarged the garage and was thinking of doing the same as you. What is the advantage?
If you space out the bikes wider and able to completely lay the bike flat, the distance will be around the width of your bars. If you're tight on space and have to overlap your bikes, the distance will be greater.
@@flathead0666 lol not sure why you would think I need to take a deep breath as if I care that much about you wanting to purchase the scent of another man. I was just asking.
Can these jackshaft openers be installed offset from the wall the door is on? I’ve got a 6x6 in between my two doors and no room on the other side of the door to mount it.
Surpried you guys dont use high lift garage door rails, or whatever it's called. Where the rails are really close to the ceiling which helps with covering the lights less and makes it look a bit cleaner.
Have you ran hot water through Prevost pipes yet? I’m orders my system from you in the next few days and are running both hot and cold water to it and would like to use Prevost piping
7:28 - Mike is going to kick himself he called it a flathead screwdriver. >_< (I still maintain that is a perfectly good name for the screwdriver in question.)
Wouldn't it not be a good idea to have a garage door opener that could be hacked easily thru a phone? I hate to see that 911 be stolen because you wanted to keep up with the Jones
so easy to hack anything with a phone according to people that know nothing about hacking. The old openers could have been opened with a wire clothes hanger. The front door locks can be picked with a hair pin. So what?
How many likes does this vid need for Mike F. to dap up Matt calling him "Big Dawg Matty" 😂?
Another certified classic Mike & Mike episode.
Matt must trust Mike like crazy. Mike is climbing a latter with a hammer in his hand right beside the his new GT3 RS 😂
23:35 looks like an interpretive type of dance. Exquisite camerawork
Just had 3 installed in my new build!! They're amazing!

I had the same installer installed and it is so much quieter than the roof mount one I had and the locking pin is such a great idea.

I’ve been hearing the same…
Got mine in June. Lost communication one time in the first week but otherwise it’s been flawless
Love these vids, taking notes on everything for my future garage!
I have the same openers and love them!
I saw on stud pack YT video they had garage doors with custom red springs that look real nice, dont tell Matty!

Hello Matt. Congratulations on everything you do and continued success. Tell me why you leave the water pipes exposed? I enlarged the garage and was thinking of doing the same as you. What is the advantage?
It's temporary. I wanted a water softener, and didn't want it in the garage. We will have a solution for it soon.
Bro how tf mike knows everything about everything I’m still shocked.
Once again Matt, I can’t believe you don’t have color matched powder coated hardware on your garage doors.
The black powder-coated rails that Fred's garage had look great and I'm surprised that more manufacturers don't offer it as an option.
I haven't been in a house long enough to get that done.
Makes me so nervous that Matt leaves his porsche in there while theres construction
Don’t lose any sleep over it 🙄
Could you share more details on the steadyracks? Distance the bikes end up coming off the wall once angled? Thx.
If you space out the bikes wider and able to completely lay the bike flat, the distance will be around the width of your bars. If you're tight on space and have to overlap your bikes, the distance will be greater.
You measure from the floor to the height of your handle bars and add a few inches. That gets you the correct distance.
When will mikes scent be bottled and sold for interior detailing?

I don’t think you can. You’d have to make your own bracket to make that work.
When we say surpassed does that mean that it's just the newer version of 8500W or is there anything different between them?
Surpried you guys dont use high lift garage door rails, or whatever it's called. Where the rails are really close to the ceiling which helps with covering the lights less and makes it look a bit cleaner.
Not only does it look better but it's required for jackshaft openers.

Did you have to adjust the spring tension when converting those?
Usually you don't.

Not a botanist or a dietician, but a squash is nutritionally a vegetable and botanically a fruit.
